Sprint support page down?! - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I wanted to check out sprints support page to see if they have updates the update your phone section. Well it says they are down for maintenance. I wonder if it's for our phone for the release of the ics update. Any thoughts on this?

Official Verizon OTA update

Does anyone out there have any actual evidence of there ever being an update. I cannot root and update due to having no computer so I am stuck waiting and its so old. I can't find any updated information and I'm sick of a buggy phone! Thanks everyone for ur help.

There is no update known to be coming right now. Obviously it will come eventually, but no one knows when.

I heard its coming quarter to never. Or maybe it just feels that way.
Just rumors and rumors I've been told several times it'll be before may and that means nothing.

I wish the dang thing would happen soon!! I don't care about new features or version numbers, I just want the numerous bugs fixed.
Considering Verizon hasn't owned up to the existence of any updates (or the existence of any problems, for that matter) I figure it'll be a while. "Early April" has come and gone, so it appears the rumor mill is fail once again.

[Q] ICS Official is available?

Saw this today:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00046726&fm_seq=49755
But the phone is not finding the update when I try it. Anyone else getting it yet?

There's no download link for our device so I'm guessing it isn't ready yet. It'll have that hyperlink "ICS Update is Available!" when it's available to download.

I believe it's going to be but if it isn't listed on that site then it isn't out yet. Although we had one unconfirmed report that someone had received OTA today.

If you click through, it says:
The update process will be performed OTA (Over the Air).

Do they always provide a download if they are delivering it OTA? Sorry, this is my first Samsung, don't know their process.
Not seeing said link hear att version of sgll was getting ics today but nothing about sprint e4gt.

I don't believe that link is an actual download link, it just opens to a FAQ about the update.
The OTA will be available through Kies I believe leaving people with the option to update or ignore.

Web site states by Kies only,, no ota.
AT&T Cell Phones: How do I update my Samsung Galaxy S™ II to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich?.
" How Do I Get This Update?
This update is available through Windows and Mac computers using the Samsung Kies software application only. This update will not be made available over-the-air.
Samsung Kies "
Yeah I don't see this ever being an OTA... not practical.
I thought I was told a while ago that Kies updates won't work on the E4GT. Kies gives me "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies" and I've always been 100% unrooted stock.
I don't even see why the other carriers are making it optional. It isn't like ICS includes huge TouchWiz changes.

Lol im sure more changes were made to touchwiz than you or i can see.. I think it will be OTA.. I hate kies for some odd reason.. Either way id be updating from my ics leaked custom rom.. Then flashing multiple custom roms after source is released so just give us source ALREADY lol

No, that was my point. We can't see major changes to TouchWiz so there's no reason to make it optional besides further fragmenting the people who don't know how to do it.
do you guys really think pushing a 300mb update over sprint's 3g is a smart idea? you dont think sprint already knows about their ****ty network?
Over at the sprint epic forums. And the gurus there said that ics won't available until the gs3 comes out officially. I wanna call the time that nothing is happening "the calm before thwarting storm". Once the source is released this forum will be very busy. Roms, etc. Be patient. We have waited somewhere around 5-7 months for ics. Were in the home stretch

FF18 Source Released and Other Noob Questions

The ICS FF18 source has been released for the Epic 4G Touch!
Go to http://opensource.samsung.com/index.jsp and search SPH-D710. It is available for download without signing up from there. Will try to upload a mirror by end-of-day today.

Okay then. I might as well get these questions out of the way then (because I know I'll be asking at some point somewhere else):
1. Does the FF18 kernel fix the SD issues seen in previous ICS builds?
(Or is this even a problem anymore?)
2. Also with this source, will there be a way to permanently install CWM to the device's recovery?
(This might have always been possible, I just don't know how to get it to stick. It seemed so much easier with my old Nexus S 4G and my Xoom)

Software Update Widget Icon Letter N

I have the Stock/Unrooted TMo Galaxy S3, and recently, the Software Update Widget Icon, has the letter N on the top right corner.
I thought maybe there was some update, but I checked for update, and it says that the device is up to date.
Any ideas?
There is an update but it may not be available for you yet depending on your location.
You can download it from samsung or the dev section here.

No, its a maintenance release. This is the tmobile forum so it has nothing to do with the international version. And yes it is an update for us here in the US.
Just do some reading around here. LOTS of info and multiple threads about this update.

[Q] Ota update today?

I just got an ota update pushed today but I haven't tried to update yet because I'm rooted. I am wondering if this is new or if this could be the same update as last time being sent out again. I didn't update the last time because it seemed to be a small update to change the coding of the pinch to zoom feature. Any word of a new update? Thanks in advance

Yep- that's what I'm rockin'- showed up Monday evening for me, but still hasn't popped up on my wife's...
Just fyi, even though its a small update, it shouldn't cause any issues where data is concerned, and you can update a number of ways that will let you stay rooted. See my firmware thread in development stickies to get the fw or ota.
More importantly, the upcoming jb update will patch this update, so if you haven't updated you may miss the message.

Sorry about posting in the wrong spot. I have build UVLH2. I got a notification maybe a week or two ago but didn't update because everyone said it didn't really do anything. Are there significant changes this time around?
You'll need this update to get the jb.
No reason not to update....

Well I was a little reluctant to apply the new updates for fear that they would mess something up or take away some feature that I enjoy. I applied one update because it added the brightness bar but it took away the search feature. I found a way to put the search back but didn't want to lose some other functionality unless it was worth it. So do you know if I have to go back and apply the previous update before I can apply the one that just came through?
Depends on what you've done to the phone since then. If you've modded, removed, added or replaced anything then you'll probably have to odin flash the stock build to get the update. But why do that when you can just odin the updated build!

Question, What is this uvalj4 update about? I mean I know its updated something else, Did a google search on it.. all that came up is new roms on xda using it lol.
Edit: Another question, I just got that OTA Root Keeper, then tried to update, it rebooted, went into CWM. Then said something about the file and didnt do anything else. Can someone confirm/deny it works with CWM installed?
