I'm aware that there's already a thread for the XDA app and I'm also aware that the developers are probably too busy to read what's in that thread to add the suggestions. But seriously guys, something should be done about the app.
It's had tons of problems and even though it's seemed pretty stable as of late, all I've had today are constant FC's so I've had to use the Tapatalk app instead.
That also brings me onto another point. Why does our app need to run off Tapatalk? I'm not gonna pretend that I know anything about developing, but it can't be that hard to make a new app right? And have the new app as a standalone app, rather than running off something else.

I am using the xda app and it is a HUGE battery drain also kinda sucks. So what is the this app your talking about that works better? Got a link?
EDIT: on idle in the background it uses 30% of my CPU wtf WtfSGS iii is a beefy phone and the browser doesn't take even 1/10 of that

So it uses a lot less battery? 30% is absurd for doing nothing.

Look at the CPU useage.
If its not 1% or 0% while in the background then it is the same.
I love my SGS III even with this stupid app that has been sucking up my battery since day 1 I have been able to get a constant 13 hours per a charge at max brightness.

That is not CPU use, just battery use although I don't even see taptalk on your battery use.
To see CPU use you have to use a task manger of some sort. My SGS III came with one built in don't know about other phones. Also that battery life is horrible! Or mine is just very very good not sure.
Also doing the math.. I would probably have like 6 extra hours of battery life per a charge without xda rofl...
Yeah I screenshotted the wrong bit -_-
For some reason, Tapatalk isn't showing but it shows the usage for xda premium there.
And yeah battery life is terrible on this phone. That's why I've gotta charge it so much

Androzip is showing 38%.. unless your actively using it.. that would be what is killing your phone.
I have been active using it for a while yeah. Mainly moving and renaming files, so even though it's slightly high, it's not out of the ordinary too much.

I still don't get why the XDA specific app uses so much more batter then the general app by the same dev.... wth
Its just proof, yet again that a new app is needed.
Surely with the levels of skills of xda members, a fully working and functioning app could be made.

We are just having a discussion.. Also I did post there =p
I think assuming that the developers don't read that thread may be incorrect. At the very least there are mods watching that thread, and I am pretty sure from reading many pages of that thread that if you post something there they consider worthwhile, it will get proper attention in a proper timeframe.

Why is anyone still working on anything before 4.0.3? If I knew the first thing about development I would have finished a working rom already even if I had to work until my fingers bled.
Hmmm.. might I remind you these guys are doing this stuff on their spare time... FREE OF CHARGE? If you wanna know how to develop, learn. Trial and error can be very useful tools, but this is kinda rude. I don't mean to be a **** here, but patience is a virtue. You will get your ice cream just as soon as the devs can actually work on it.

You don't, huh?
Good to know.
Also:
You're just going thru "trail and error" to port Android 4.03 to the Epic Touch 4G?
Really.
How exactly are you doing this?
Does your process involve "not even "helping" make CM7 official, but instead slamming the one person who is trying to do so, by creating a thread on XDA with a loaded, trolling-by-nature "question" whining about "where's my ice cream that was supposed to be delivered"?
Because if that's how the trail and error involved in porting a full Android OS to a CDMA device, (with no access to a kernel, or drivers/libs for that device), is SUPPOSED to look, then I'd have to say:
You're doing it right.
(Literally SMH.)

why does somebody feel the need to post one of these threads at least once a week??? if we had ICS, you'd see it in the Dev section. if you don't see it there, don't bother asking.
People are so impatient
I do NOT want an ics port. I want officially released ICS, and with gingerbread running so good on this phone, I'm in no hurry to get it, so samsprint can take their time. I'm more interested in getting official miui and cm7 ironed out. once those are official, it'll handle any software upgrades that come out after our phone is end of lifed

I agree Nexus is very much hackable as it is made by google and all the sources , drivers are available for the device and the device gets updated frequently. I personally hate AOSP look because all the phone have same look (Micromax fun tab($120) and Galaxy Nexus($400)) and i agree that all the iphones also have the same look but their look is ultimate(My point of view) .
But i want xperia s to win because it has its own identity(Sony bravia engine , xloud ,walkman), without most of the JB drivers , the great developers like FXP team have made the JB to work on Xperia S , Dual boot possible , unlocking is now officially supported and relocking is also possible and many more things.
As much as I really like my Xperia S it is far from most hackable...

I have the XS and won't vote for it.
Modding... Unlock BL and you voided warranty, lose DRM keys, lose Bravia Engine(didn't even noticed that but still). Mods to flash... Some stock FW bloatware deleted and weird KA ROM. And ofc all Free Xperia team what brings CM9 and CM10 which is cool but look at other phones for example SGS2 which have much much more mods to install and official Jelly Bean leak there.
Samsung and HTC seem to have the lock on this. The XS has allot of stuff but it's not even close to what some of the other devices have. The HTC HD2 has had just about every OS run on it sense it came out. I like my Sony stuff but there are way to many other very hack-able devices to consider this one of them.
Off course I can't vote on Xperia S.
Most hackable? I can't even unlock my bootloader... not allowed ?!
Sim lock its not Rom locked, simple as that.
Don't even care about warranty, if I'm hacking I cannot honestly be thinking on that.
Sony is one of the worst hackable phones, great hardware no doubt... great custom development? No way, AND NOT BECAUSE OF BAD DEV, SIMPLY BECAUSE NO COMMUNITY CAN BE BUILT.

I currently have an HTC One X. While its great and all.. I want a little more development to go on with the phone I have, without risking the quality of the phone itself.
Should I...
Keep the HTC One X
Trade it for a Galaxy Nexus
or Save up for the Nexus 4?
Those who recommend the Galaxy Nexus, how is the audio quality? That's my favorite thing about my HTC One X is the superior audio quality compared to most phones.
Anyway I'd be overly delightful to hear your opinions. Thank you!
searching would be a lot easier and your not gonna get one overwhelming answer anyway so kinda dumb question to ask, use logic which phone is newest ...

First of all I'm not looking for THE overwhelming answer. And
I have searched and searched and searched. I'm asking the community for an honest opinion. I'm not looking for which phone is newest. I'm asking what you think has a better balance among development and the phone quality itself.
No need to make an ass of yourself buddy.
Don't get either. Wait till MWC in February and get a newer, better, 2013 phone. The One X is great. It should hold you over for at least another year.

Nexus phones usually always see the most development in general. That would rule out the one x. And when deciding between the galaxy nexus and the nexus 4, it really is a no-brainer because of the ridiculously low price of the nexus 4.
So if you don't depend entirely on LTE(I take it you don't since you even consider the nexus 4), I'd definitely go with that one or stand the one x for another year and get the next nexus instead. If you don't live in a country where you can order the nexus 4 from the play store, it will be priced much higher, but you can use certain postal services to forward the package from a us adress in order to get it at the lower price point.

Umm yes I know you're means you are ahaha. If u type it out correctly it would be fine, but since I went back and made changes autocorrect did that. I love grammar Nazis they make me laugh at how pathetic they are for going around and telling people stuff they already know lmao. I mean really...do you honestly think the people that come here and edit the hell out of their phones don't know what periods are or commas or your and you're or there their or they're? Lmao what a silly goose you are! I guarantee I could go back and look at all of your posts and find multiple grammar errors but....I'm not a loser and have better things to do then point out grammar mistakes on a phone forum...

Well he never called you an ass, so no I didn't fail at reading. I just assumed u were smart enough to see the difference between someone saying your making an ass of your yourself (in this situation) vs you're an asshole. So I assumed u meant him saying buddy since you replied with little buddy. O well.

Hi guys I recently got my at&t galaxy s2 unlocked and switched to T-Mobile but I still have the at&t version of the galaxy s2. The thing is, whenever I'm using data, the signal keeps dropping even when I am in a still position. For example, when I first start data, it will be at H+ (this is normal hspa+ network) within 20 minutes it just drops to "no service" but since i am on a custom rom, i can change my network modes easily. so if i switch it to 2g, wait a couple seconds and switch it back to the 3g toggle, i get the signals back but the problem will occur once again and within 20-30mins, signal will say "no service". any ideas why this could be happening or how i could fix it?
Thanks for any help

I hear ya! Just some things are verrrrry common issues, with very fast fix results searching xda or Google.
I don't usually flame.....just ignore. After a bit, they might actually search.
I'll say this....without searching, tinkering and researching ....you'll never learn anything folks! Kinda like when you are a passenger in a car....you get a ride to the same place 10 times....then you gotta drive yourself and can't remember how to get there. LOL. But when you drive yourself.....it usually sticks with you quick!
And OP....sorry for posting this here, tho your problem was solved quick by a good Samaritan.
Wasn't trying to flame you either ....just some words of wisdom.
Have fun tinkering!!

OK my friend, did some research for u and here's the bad news right off the rip, the i777 doesn't really go well with T-Mobile, if u had the i727 u would be fine but this model isn't supported on tmobiles network, only 2g gsm so u will experience a lot of data drops unless u are in a restructured tower zone, there is nothing that can be done about it as there are no tmo radios for that phone, ur best bet, sell it and get a Hercules, or skyrocket, u can get them cheap online, sorry man wish I could've helped more
