After tried to work to unlock my phone, it does not recognise USB at all, even to charge the battery.
Soon, my battery will go to zero and my phone will not work.
What could be wrong?
Phone does not charge with the wall charge.
Please, help me!

What did you do?
Did you try a different cable ?
Try a different cable. If that doesn't work go get a pogo dock or rig up ur own. There are DIY for that. If those don't work, idk what to tell ya. Warranty it?

First OFF, I am using a USB port in the car. The phone recognize being plugged in But wont Charge, I tried the typical Cig lighter Plug and i get the same result. Wall and Computer work fine.
Hi,
My Galaxy Nexus says it is always charging even when it is not connected and I think this started after I used a S3 charger on my phone. Do you know how I can fix this?
Thank you,
Pedro
Android 4.1.1
Baseband I9250XXLF1
Kernel 3.0.31
Build JRO03C
Check USB port for damage, this is not caused by the S3 charger
Clean the port, otherwise replace it.
Here is a way that helped others with their Nexus and helped me with my old Galaxy Ace which had the same problem after using a different car charger,
Use a toothpick, SILIGHTLY pressing the male portion of micro usb up toward screen.
It worked like a charm. Good luck!

When I do this, indeed the phone recognizes that it is not charging anymore, but if I let go it goes back to charging. I pressed a bit harder but then I was't able to insert the charger anymore.
I'll try a couple of times more, but in the mean time, do you guys know how easy/expensive it is to replace the port? Does it have to be done by Samsung?
Thanks
I use my S3 charger for my Nexus... in fact, never even tried the other charger

I don't think it is expensive to change the port. If the phone is still under warranty, why not take it to Samsung? Any mobile shop, can change the port for you -at least they do where I live.
Also try some fine adjusting to that male portion, it worked with me and with pedrovaz.
Good luck!

It's fairly simple process to change out the USB board if you want to do it yourself, just remember to be extremely careful when doing it.
Here's the part you will have to replace http://cellphone-repair-shop.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-global-micro-usb-charge-port-pcb/
here's a guide to disassembling your Nexus (i'm assuming you have the i9250 if not then you can find the above part on the same sight for the sprint/verizon versions as well) - http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-Teardown/7182/1
Good luck and be careful if you go this route.
- cheers
I dont believe that acutally worked
Does anyone have expierence how long that lasts before its broken again?
Greetings
Julian
Edit:
Lasted 5 minutes, now its broken again, I'll probably have to fix it myself...
The wall UNIT is fine but the OEM cable doesnt work anymore.
I am using a old BLACKBERRY microUSB cable with it now and I noticed it charges a bit slower than the OEM.
Anyone have any suggestions on amazon or something for cables that are like close to OEM?
Thanks guys!
Why not address this with the company that sold you the phone?

Kindle replacement Micro USB Cable will get the job done perfect fit.
If you happen to own a kindle with worn out cable give Amazon a call and they will give you discount on it.

I had this problem took mine back to att gave me a new cord and ordered me a new battery dont know why but hey...got a spare...
Guys this is just s standard urn cable with a micro usb end. I actually have a thick BlackBerry cable plugged into the wall plug that came with my phone and everything is good.
Although I do remember the skyrocket, where people had to be really specific on what they used to charge their phones because if they didn't they would actually have a charging wake lock, but this doesn't seem to be the case on this phone!

Out of the blue I noticed my S3 was charging very slowly, it even was losing a charge while it was plugged in while I was using it. I figure it had something to do with my custom ROM so I reflash, still same outcome. The battery was still holding a good charge, so I figured it was something else. I then went out and bought a new charger, which came with a micro usb cord to see if that helped. Plugged in the new charger while using my old micro usb cord, still same outcome. Then used the new micro usb cord and old charger, charging went back to normal, problem solved! I would of never thought that the cord would malfunction from day to day use after such a short lifespan. Moral of the story, check your cords if you experience the same problem, it could save you some time and money!
Yup, I experienced the same thing! Slow charging, losing charge while plugged in, and horrible battery life. Once I changed the cable it went back to normal. That's also what I've been recommending people to check when they report similar symptoms

I was wondering if I was the only one, haha. I'm guessing this will be a common problem for us with the S3.

This is true, but not that helpful when the USB cable is bad, please read the thread before posting bud.
I had the same thing happen with a friends USB cable over the weekend. Same phone same charger took 2 hours to get 18% (with fast charge enabled) plugged in with my cable, took 1.5 hours to charge the other 80%. Got the cord from here and all is good again. Wonder why this happens to some of these cords...

Bad build you don't noticed but we do throw around the charger a bit and sometimes pull hard with the cords.

I believe is a short or break in the cable that makes it think its plugged into a usb port on a computer.
Its been a while so hope im remembering this right, but when you use the wall outlet it connects two of the pins together where if plugged into a computer it does not. The phone detects this and allows a faster charge.
I remember in the past people would solder the pins together permanently (on the cable not the phone) so it would always charge faster.
I believe thats how it worked anyway. So if these have broken or shorted in some way it may cause that behavior. Hope that made sense.

Interesting, I'm not that techy at all. I did try plugging it into both computer USB port, and wall charger and neither gave it a proper charge.
It may be the same scenario but with different wires within the cable. Hard to say for sure.
In the end though, cables go bad just like everything else. I think many dont realize how much they really can abuse them!

Lmao yeah mines gone throught that too.reason why their cheap is because it's really cheap material that companies throw in the box.I wish they were more solid with a bit more protection like the ones that came with my ps3.

I got a Tab 3 7.0 for my youngster for Christmas and between her and other kids that my mom babysits the USB port looks to be wallowed out and is now no longer charging. Can anyone provide me links to a replacement charging/USB port? I wanna do the work myself since I don't have the cash to send it off somewhere even though I know that'll be the headache free way to go.
Thanks!

I'm not sure where you can get one, but your looking for whats called a usb flex cable. Manufactures use these cables to eliminate having to replace the entire mainboard for a simple jack replacement.
I looked on alibaba for T210 usb flex cables and couldn't find an exact match. Keep looking and good luck.
:highfive:
Where does it connect to if it doesn't connect to it's original connectors? I've taken the back off and didn't see where one would connect to.
