Supercharged script V6 : it works! - HTC One V

Ok folks, I was getting frustrated with launcher redraws and general laggness, to the point that my old LG p500 phone, half the speed, was even looking good again, what with franciscofranco's kernels and whatnot. So I looked into old things that were floating around at the time, build.prop mods, etc, and I remembered supercharger script. Back then I did not need these mods as devs would already be implementing them in their roms. But now, I kind of miss my cm9 Anyway - -
So here's the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
I'm taking the time to write all that on my One V because putting that script on my phone was a bit of a learning curve thing but well worth the effort. My phone is finally funny to play with.
I went to post no.2, installed script manager, the starter scrit kit, then the V6 script with all the main options, and Voilà!
Hope you enjoy a faster, more fluid phone experience (Damn I sound like a salesman)

huh. i may just try this. my phone isnt running horribly, but it could definately be better. whats weird is i just upgraded from a p500 myself! the extra .5 inches on the screen is great!

I have been looking at this form for the whole day before your post, and really confused about something just like odex/deodex and ics....My rom is an odexed rom,so i have to do a lot of things.....did your do all the things?or all of the effects...?
sorry for my bad English

Hello, our roms are all ics so we start at post no.2. Personally I was starting from modaco rom V 2.08 so it was already deoxexed. Then I just had to get smanager, run the starter kit script found in post no.2, then run V6 and play with all the options.
I. Reread the post no.2, if I was you i would try it with the webapp thing for odex part, if not, I would simply install a deodexed rom. At the state of development our phone is, there is not much difference between roms I believe so you wouldn't miss much by changing roms.

Thanks for bringing this to my notice man....
Launcher is rock hard and snappy now...
And no more goddamn redraws on apex *chest thump*

Lol exactly :-D And not too hard to implement

Thanks guys. I ended up getting an iPhone for about a year. It was a great phone but boring due to having no customization. This is my 2nd day with the Galaxy Nexus and I love it. Android has really come a long way since I last used it.

Hi Geo411m,
Thanks for your effort, just like to confirm that is it a CWM flashable zip?
Thanks~!!
Well, I ran into a few issues at first. It didn't have any APNs, but I reset APNS to default then restarted the phone and all is well now.
So far so good, no real issues now that it's up and running. Thanks!
And yes, it's flashable via CWM.
thanks kitinas.
damn, I'm forced to login/create account with 4shared now? bah..
nevertheless, thanks for sharing

Did you wipe caches after install? This rom was created using the system image directly from google and therefore should work exactly as OTA. Not sure why the apn weren't there on first use.

I wasn't aware of the 4shared issue. I haven't done anything with android for about a year and don't know of other hosting.
Stock or AOKP
Receiving my brand new NEXUS tomorrow. Need to make a decision whether to go with stock ROM vs AOKP.
My history has been HyperDroid CM7 on an HD2 so i am on completely new ground. Can any and all give me your top 10 reasons to go either way?...........

In my opinion I feel stock (with a few tweaks) offers more stability. I've seen too many AOSP give lots of FC/crashes and I rather have a working phone then have it crash while outdoors and you have to wait to get home to fix it.
My experience in Stock tells me, you can only be with stock for so long...
...till you get frustrated enough to
first - atleast change the Kernel (go for franco kernel, one of the best out there). that makes things a bit snappier, has much more tweaks under the hood for battery life, wifi et al
Then, second, figure out how many more features are available in ROMs out there instead of stock. Once you find that - it is very difficult to stick to stock. Try APEX which is a very generic rom and keeps best features of most of the ROMs out there.
So basically, take it easy, and enjoy the ride ... (or enjoy the bumps first then figure out a way to sail smooth!)
You wont like the smooth sailing of a beautiful rom and a kernel out there, till you've had it rough enough on stock. I just used the rom in this thread, and my phone went down by atleast 30% in terms of performance.
Its much more sluggish, feels heavier, and a bit jerky through the menus. Even when I have almost no apps installed!
I was much better on a 4.0.3 bigxie Apex rom (extremely stable) and franco kernel - extremely fast! blazing.
Stock cant even hold a candle infront of this combination, and I'm talking about 4.0.4!!
GPS lock on this stock image is a 1000 times better than CM9. wtf??

I've always had 5-10 second lock on CM9; seems like mileage varies for some people for some reason or another.

I just updated the ROM with a much more optimized system. Let me know how it compares to AOSP.
May I know what did you do to optimize the system? Deodex is to make it slower so I'm wondering what are other tweaks you included that make it different than say ARHD 3.0.

I don't know what's in ARHD to compare. I made lots of changes to the build.prop for increased performance and made changes to the system to make android take advantage of the Nexuses GPU for better performance.

[REQ] Better folder animations TW

I am asking if a member of the forum is able to release an update/mod for TW that will make the animation for opening folders smoother, i currently have the JB animations flashed and so would prefer to keep them and only modify the folder opening animation.
Regards
JSale
P.s i have tried all manner of options in development settings to do with animation scaling but it still seems very "jagged"

What phone are you using info like ram/ rom? Etc
DROID Bionic *1337_3.0*™
Samsung Galaxy SIII
Rom: WanamLite 1.8RC1
Kernel: Siyah 1.3.8
RAM:1GB
wanamlite-ics-xxblg1-v1-7-android-4-0-4-smooth-rock-stable/ this is the latest Im seeing when did you last update the rom? As with roms things tend to run slow including thumbnail loading until later stages and work on the rom has been done. Unless you're familiar with coding or changing actual device attributes I would say you may have to wait until the rom improves. As for your phone its a solid piece of hardware and should have no problem handling it. Hope this helps if I can find out anything I will let you know.
DROID Bionic *1337_3.0*™
I just updated tonight to "[ROM][XXBLG1][15Jul][V1.7][V1.8RC1] WanamLite Smooth,Stable & Battery Friendly", but the animations have not improved at all, previously i was on WanamLite 1.6.
As for familiarity with coding, i do a little bit of java programming and am currently working on a TicTacToe apk, unfortunately i have no experience with roms or theming
Finally i was under the impression that custom roms improved performance, at least that is what i have seen .

Jack
P.S thanks for keeping an eye out, i appreciate it and thanks for actually replying to my thread as it seems nobody is interested/has the same problem
Final bump before i give up and cry :'(
I was thinking have you tried a third party launcher? I run Go launcher with Alienware lock/theme runs smooth and fast. Just a thought.

I'll give it a try but would i be correct in thinking that the Jellybean animations wouldnt work when changing apps etc...?

I think there are launchers that have jelly bean animations you can search around and tell me what you come up with. Since alot of jelly bean updates have been dumped on various servers alot of apps and themes have integrated it.

Did you try a third party launcher? Think I found a workaround if it didn't work.

[Q] Yet another whats best ROM thread! [Answered]

Hello All,
I been a rooted HTC Desire user for quite sometime and my missus dislikes this very much because every month I will be stuck at my computer searching the XDA forum for my ideal ROM.
I know it is all down to personal preference and I have done a fair bit of searching before starting my own thread. (Also I have less than 10 posts so its a good start)
What I want in a ROM is fast and smooth as a prio.
Good battery usage and Stable.
Possibility to use a ext3/4 partition.
Not so import:
I love the ICS look and launcher but having used ADW Launcher and GoLauncher I prefer to just have a launcher built into a ROM. This made me find MildWild 4.3 and 5.0
I been using Oxygen 2.3.2 for quite sometime at the moment and never really had any problem apart from the very occasional soft reboot (Where the home screen reloads and welcome message appears)
So I tried MildWild 4.3 based on Oxy which so many people praised where the first thing I did was go into Spare Parts viewed battery history and BAM, Force Closes. So tried a full wipe but this still kept happening.
So I tried 5.0 but for some other reason that I cannot recall I was not getting a long with this (I think the lack of T9)
So yeah, what do people think would be ideal for me? I been watching Sandvolds work for sometime and even used the ICS rom but I would prefer a fully stable ROM that I can use day to day and take pictures of my family.
Sorry for the wall of text but hopefully people can give me their opinions. :highfive:

Thank you for taking your time getting those links abaaaabbbb63
Just flashed MW 5.0, nice performance so far. Only thing that crashed was the Cynogen mod settings but I presume that is because it was modified by MildWild.
I'm starting to regret the day I made my username.. people calling me Abaaaabbbb...
Anyways, your welcome.

The cyanogenmod settings under settings? It shouldn't crash
The battery tap under spare parts, yes, it crashed on mine also and crashes on some roms. So not to worry there
Sorry about replying, I know it's been answered but just clearing that up
No, the Cyanogenmod settings are great, always have been when I using CM7.1
But when you dive right in under the System and Update Notifications, but when I looked in the development thread it seems MW stripped out that feature
Didn't need it anyway.
Thanks for posting!

[Q] Newb at Android - CM10 yes or no?

Hello!
I have HTC One V PrimoU. I'm newb for that. Leave PC, there... And also there, I'm not in Linux... So, just to explain:
I used "HTC One V All-In-One Toolkit V1.2 [10-8-2012] [PERM ROOT] [Noob-Proof]", flashing recovery with TWRP 2.3.1.0 and Kernel with 3.0.16-Titanium-Kiss.
Happy with my new rooted device, I put on some root apps, that were suggested on page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907885&highlight=app+for+root
So far, so good. I'm more that happy OK, I disabled HTC Sense with Titanium, but I also managed to restore phone back, so, no real harm done... Yes, I'm still learning - well, also, I couldn't find the list of HTC One V apps that you MUST leave alone... Searched all the net, found some on XDA, some on other sites, but - for newb (or noob) like me, it would be helpful...
But, somewhere, in the back of my head is still a question: Shoud I go for CM10? And if yes, why? - I read all thread of CM10, but still, what will I gain? For sure, CM10 will not turn my proc into quad ;-D Also, is there a valid reason why our phone will not get Jelly Bean officially? Forget ram, it's excuse for what?
However, I'd like to hear from you. I don't need much, gimme one reason to go there and I'll be there...
Appreciate all your answers, + and - , just keep smiling...
Best regards, Mat
Oh, forgot the most important...
THANK YOU!!!
For all that made tutorials which I followed to root my device... YOU'RE THE BEST!!!
And I'm more than happy when my phone, during the boot, tells me, in that red letters, that I won...
Best regards to all, Mat
I'm not an expert but I DO find some reasons to switch into CM10:
1) butter project really makes Jelly Bean fast and smooth
2) no lags anymore
3) more optimization options
4) smoother switching between apps
5) nicer lockscreen
However, there are some drawbacks that should be taken into consideration:
1) camera - poorer quality, occasional accidental killings, no more stock options, the graphical processor on HOV wastes..
2) battery drain - but not much of a problem, you can use e.g. Juice Defender to block the consumption
3) some other minor bugs
THANKS!!!

[Q] ROM/MODS Suggestions?

Now that I have settled down with the hox, im ready to start installing custom stuff. However, since i am very busy with school work i dont really have time to explore myself (that comes summer time ) anyway i was hoping u guys could help recommend some different roms/mods that I can installt hat will suite my needs.I do like sense tho so I don't really want to go to vanilla android. Here are some things I would like:
1) toggles for wifi/data/brightness etc in notification pull down. either like how stock JB/ICS or the 2 finger settings pull down thing from JB. Is there any mod for like swipe across the top for brightness like in cyanogen?
2) autobrightness tweaks so its actually usable. right now auto is basically always on almost full brightness and its annoying.
3)any % battery mod and any way to get rid of beats/powersaver icons/ notifications?
4)any other battery tweaks/power saving mods would be helpful also. right now im getting like 12 hrs with wifi on and like 2-3 hrs of screen on
5) best swypesque keyboard? I like swype but the sense one is kidna inaccurate compared to the stock jb one i tried.
6) anything else i must have or a tweak that alot of people use etc.
7) any good free thd games that look/work well?
thanks in advance for any suggestions looking forward to this :fingers-crossed:

ps. can someone point me towards some guides to get started?

edit 2: i would also like lowered dpi/phtablet configuration, and has the multiscreen thing been ported from samsung? or maybe the qslide feature thing from LG
bump anyone? Also is there any mod/roms to lower dpi/ phablet configuration? On my g2x it was paranoid android.
Still nothing?? Can none helpa brother out?

Well your first issue is to root your mobile. Go on htcdev . Com and do it. After that use a tutorials from Android Development section of the but please - first read very carefully everything! If you have any questions- first ask them and after its clear to you proceed with next steps.
Try Blade ROM.
For your first question - its not presented at the moment in Blade, but it can be implemented in the future.
Keyboard - if you insist to be swypable- try slide it. It's payed...
The main good thing in Blade ROM is that the rom is stripped to the essential core and in addition there is a Aroma mods, and in which you can choose whatever you like it use mods, and tweaks and add ons.
Hope this will help you.

Yes, I Blade is a Sense Rom. However there is a "desensing", script, and which removes almost all of HTC stuff - launcher, widgets, lockscreen, and etc.
