Are you in the USA? If not then that is why, I believe the system automatically hides it if not in the USA or if your not using english
DO YOU JELLY?
I don't think it has to do with "if you are in USA" but instead if you have a USA Google account. I am not in USA at the moment but do have the Google Music finder. So as long as your Google account is American it should show up.
"Bye book!"
Yes I am on Jelly Bean... 4.1.1 and my Google Account is Indonesia... does this make Google Sound Search didn't appear on my Jelly Bean?
It is a widget called "Sound Search". As others have said I believe you have to be in the US.
Nope, you don't have to be in the United States, nor having US based Google account.
I live in Europe and I bought my Galaxy Nexus in Europe, and I have European Google account.
And I do have Sound Search widget
Yes, I am using 4.1.1.

If you're looking for a Sound Search app, you won't find it. The function only exists as a widget that can be added to your homescreen. And yes, it is called "Sound Search".

Hello
I have one small problem with google now
When I ask what's the weather or what's the time it allways give me the weather and time from America and I live in Europe
I have latest 4.1.1 takju
Thanks for helping
Try this, go to Settings,Language and Input. Then make sure Language is "English (United kingdom) and "Voice Search" under Speech option is set to English UK. Hope that'll resolve the issue

Still Washington DC USA
Untick search from google.com. its somewhere in the google now settings. You can keep the language to US to get a better voice and results
Edit: its under Privacy and Accounts

Hey XDA
I'm located in Denmark, and i'm a great fan of the voice search thing.
However, when i ask about weather, it always comes up with the weather in Washington, unless i ask specific for Denmark (which is quite large)
Imo it should just give me weather for my current location..
Anyone know how to change this?

Perhaps a silly question : Is your GPS on?

Try going to settings, then Privacy and Accounts, and make sure the "search on Google.com" box is unchecked. This way your local Google site will be used instead. Worked for me

Anybody else's Google now voice. Changed?
I haven't messed with any settings or anything like that but my Google now voice is all of a sudden a guy instead of my sexy speaking assistant.
I'm in UK.
Is there a way to get the woman's voice back. I don't want a dudes voice lol

have you tried playing with settings-language and input- text to speech ?
Change language to English U.S.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Go to settings>language & input >text to speech output>settings>language > U.S.
DONE. Enjoy your phone with a girl voice.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
I want the opposite.. I really want my google now voice to have a posh british accent, but I'm stuck with the plain old american lady.
I tried language & input > text-to-speech output > google text-to-speech engine settings > language to UK, but it's still the same broad.
I tried changing the language in the google now settings itself with disastrous results.. with it set to UK English, the phone just flat out could not understand me AND it was still the lady voice.
Google now is America only, which sucks *ss. No speech for other countries.

Doesn't the Sprint version come stock with Google Voice?
Sent from my AOSP Android 4.1.1 Galaxy Nexus.
Sprint integrates with Google voice in the nexus to get the service through gv
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Actually, you don't have to integrate. You can skip that, set it for voicemail only, go on PC and change settings for call screening, email and text notifications, and it'll work just the same as Sprint VVM.

What will it take to get this working for US users? When I open up wallet, I get "Not supported device or carrier" Does google need to update their servers to add the NOTE 2? Or is it something else?
