FINALLY! ICS on E4GT! - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

It's about time..... http://www.phonedog.com/2012/07/10/...-receiving-its-android-4-0-update-on-july-12/
What confuses me though is that FF18 was leaked several weeks ago... and it wasn't ready for primetime then because of various random bugs (like the multitasking pane glitching).

You know there are like 5 other threads about this already lol as for the delay, it's likely Sprint was holding it until the SG3 was officially rolled out and bringing in the money for them.

They prolly updated ff18 with last minute bug fixes so it'll be different from the leak

[Video] CyanogenMod 9 - SGII demoed

Caught this trolling the social webs tonight:
Search for LV9aRrOylzM on youTube.
Apols, not enough posts to add url's, suppose there is a lesson about longtime lurking in there somewhere.
Demonstrates some core features but not all.

Pretty nice, cant wait for epic 4g touch variant.
Wow, that looks slick.
Btw, it's awesome that Codeworkx could make a demo video of a non-public Rom without using "Let the Bodies Hit The Floor" or "Soar" as the background music, as is much too commonplace these days. Awesome track.

Early build of CM9, seems reasonable that they haven't changed all the branding yet.
I wonder if they'll beat the official GSII ICS release from Samsung? They've got 100 days (or less).

They're pretty far along, its my understanding the only main issue now is the ril is unstable, but its also unstable in Samsungs beta leak.

Very cool. I don't think we'll be getting CM9 anytime sooner than Sammy's ICS update. (I hope I'm wrong ) The kernel they release will have a lot of the drivers necessary to get the ICS kernel up and running. I know the phones are pretty similar but there a re a few differences.
Are we even certain that CM9 is coming to our phone due to the 911 bug? Since the bug is in Bubby's CM7 Rom as well as T.C.P's MIUI Rom I am guessing our phone will have the same issue as the other Sammy phone they dropped support for...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think both roms are using deanos kernel so maybe there's still hope that the 911 bug can be ironed out.

quit exaggerating; this is only the 23rd thread this week asking that question, and, after all, it is wednesday already.....
I can guarantee you wont see it till about 2-3 weeks after the Galaxy Nexus launches for Sprint. It is rumored that will be on April 15th as we know Sprint is releasing a new phone or 3 on that day and has yet to disclose what they will be. The reason for this being the Nexus will be the only stock ICS phone available through Sprint. Need to get a few weeks of sales in before they release the OTA ICS for all other slotted phones. It's marketing 101
Your E4GT called and said there is a nice iPhone waiting for you... Swap phones and go to tipb.com... then you can upgrade to 5.1 not 4.0.4

I guess you did not get the direction of the thread...LOL Nobody wanted to hear the truth and if they did there are at least 50 threads they could check but thx for that great rightup.... j/k keep up the good work
Um.. wouldn't the fact that bugs exist want you to have it tested MORE, not less? Dang, there's the programmer in me again in thinking you should only release a quality product that is as bug free as possible... especially since I don't want to have to spend the rest of my life "firefighting" (support mode squashing bugs)
:facepalm
While I'm at it, I'll give you the programmer's response:
When it's ready. These things take time, you know.
...No, I don't really care about your deadline, I'm not going to support releasing a product with a lot of known bugs!

[Q] What is going to change on 5/14

That is the day we're scheduled for an OTA update to ICS right?
I wonder how is that going to change ROM development here? Will we suddenly have new tools that we don't have today?
What will improve on the existing ICS ROMS and AOKP and AOSP ROMS?
In other words should I wait a few days to update my GB ROM to and ICS ROM?
thanks.
If they dont release source code it wont change a whole lot. They may be able to pull a few things and make the builds cleaner. The big thing is when source code is released, then its time for some big changes.
Is it a given that source code will be released at some time?
Yeah in a couple months hopefully lol.but yeah not much will change at all

True that! FF18 got old real fast I had to roll back to EL29. Breaks my heart that Jelly Bean has been released and we are still struggling to get a solid ICS update I did read reports thought in in android 5 google is considering an update model similar to windows and to bypass carriers and allow the pushing of updates directly to device. This should solve our fragmentation issue but who knows...

All software always has bugs, by the time we even get FF18, Samsung would have had over a month to whip up a patch.
The only thing that really bothers me is the scrolling. It's horrible.

I'm on [UPDATE][KERNEL][ROM]tFF18 with FF18 repack with AGAT recovery 0.2.1 rom with ff18 modem and its a big improvement over other roms/modems I've tried.. Net speeds are up from around 1.5 mbs d/l to almost 3 mbs and I get 3-4 bars on the phone signal instead of 1 maybe 2.. And I'm in the mountains of Tn.

Mind sharing their page? Can't seem to find it.. I think they might be waiting until the first official Jelly Bean build releases for any of the Snapdragon s3 devices out there. Either that, or manufacturers like Samsung already have them and qualcomm just isn't letting them out into the public.
