What's the difference of the fake ones? Life expectancy? Reliability? I was looking at maybe a little over $100 dollars. I don't understand why they are so expesive. I purchased a 32GB SD card for my Netbook for $60 made by HP. Hasn't failed me yet.

From what I've read, the fake one is actually a 4gb or something, and then changed the info to show 32gb. So you copy data to it, looks like it will work, but when you try to access it, it will show corrupted files.
I wouldn't take a chance on corrupted files

Before I jump on this what are you guys input. Check out the link. Looks fishy to me. I'm pretty sure it's a knockoff Sandisk.

I'd recommend getting a 16GB Class 6 for around $60. When faster, cheaper 32GB cards come out, then upgrade to that.

i am getting a 16gb for now. my 8 barely has 5 GB on it, but i know i will shoot more video and play more music with the evo. just pulled the trigger... new egg has transcend 16gb class 6 for 69.99 shipped. when the 32s come out, i will pop the 16 into my wife's phone or our digital camera

What do you guys think of that "Sandisk" 32GB card? Should I buy it or are you guys a little skeptical?

I actually bought three Sandisk 32gb on ebay the other day, kept two and sold one. I was skeptical because they were fairly cheap, but they came in what looked like official Sandisk packaging and I was able to transfer 26gb of data, movies, etc and accessed all info perfectly on both my HD2 and Nexus One. I would not even think about touching the $18 ones...

Wait.. So is it a YES (I should buy it) or NO I shouldn't.

What I was saying is that the ones I'm selling are legit and cheaper than the guys selling for $385 and $395. Go look at the completed items and you will probably see the one that seems like a fair price. I would not purchase one if anyone is selling them for less than the $199 MSRP because they are probably fake including the $18 ones.

I'll throw $60 your way and a bunch of high fives if I can have it for that price. Hell I'll throw high fives for everyone.

Do not buy the 32gb cheap knockoff on ebay. Ask them what is the formatted size and what class it is and see if you even get an answer back.

weedahoe, I agree, definitely ask that first. The ones I bought/sold were formatted to 29.7gb and class 2...

What does class 2 mean? How is it different from class 6?

Actually the one in OP is class 4 whereas the one on amazon is class 1? I believe.. its not marked so I'm assuming that's what it is.

Nice. I got a 32gb refurb off of Taday's Steal for $20. So far so good.

Patriot Memory seems to be hit or miss, but most class 10's seem to be like that.
Check newegg for the reviews.
Amazon has it for 31.
Or with adapter for 33.

Just thought I would let everyone know that the hit or miss 32GB Patriot class 10 is back on sale with a MIR of 20 dollars making the total to 25+taxes. From the SOUND of it, they might have shaped back up and reduced failure rates on these cards.

I just bought and received a Samsung 32gb Class 10 SDHC card that tested at the correct speeds for $51.00 on amazon.
You can get burned really easily buying dirt cheap SD cards off of Ebay and Amazon. As the old saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true; it normally is." There are tons of counterfeit and fake cards on those sites.

I hate to say it but the same Samsung card is selling for 35+tax+ship on frys right now til thursday.

I found this samsung 32g micro sd card high speed class10 waterproof and shockproof!

Generally, Samsung cards are of very high quality. Not sure if you've ever used one but they are very reliable and are made to work. The class you pay for is the class you get.
There are other reputable card manufacturers of course, but with the widespread availability of them now, there is a much higher risk of a fake or being duped with a low class one.
As far as I know, rip off samsungs are rare if even in existence. I could be wrong.

As someone said Samsung makes good quality card, and this one is Class 10 so its speedier. I don't understand the shock/water resistent bit. Isn't flash memory shock resistent by nature?

I own this card and it is specifically rated for 1080p vid plaback and top transfer rates. You have to look beyond that someone stammped "Class 10" on thier card. If you don't believe me, buy a Wintech card and tell me how its treating you when your data is just gone one day and the card cannot be reformatted.
I payed $50 for this card and it is worth every penny.

Aside from phones, Sdc cards are used in cameras. Some of those cameras go unser water and some are mounted on the helmets of xtreme sports participants.

Got my card in the mail today. What kind of speed test results do you get (using SD Tools)? I'm showing 5.1MB/s write and 8MB/s read. I also don't see any "card info" when in SD Tools. Was hoping I could see manufacturing information and a serial to prove this isn't a fake Samsung...
Real-world writing yields about 10MB/s write.
I always thought Micro SD cards were faster... then I remembered that just full-sized SD and CF are even remotely fast!

Be careful with this item!! Just read the reviews and it's apparently a fraud!

Fantastic find, I'd buy it if I didn't already have a 16 GB SD card...

Got my card today I am really happy that I bought this. It came unopened with it's original samsung packaging. Comparing with the one I bought from amazon... check the pics below.

Mistaken entry.

Ordered mine about 4/5 days ago and received it today. Although I had a 16GB (not from Samsung) and didn't use all of it up, I still went ahead and got this. Can't go wrong with it, glad I got it.

I got 10.22MB/s writing and 32.16 MB/s reading using the SD Card Tester app.
Transferring music over seems to be a lot slower than it was using my 2gb card though. Is there a preferred way of introducing a new sd card to the android operating system?

As of now they don't have any class 10 in stock only clas 6 for 59.99 and those are on delay for a couple weeks as someone above mentioned. I'm just trying to help folks out as these cards are up now for $100+.

Ordered my sandisk class10 off ebay a month an a half ago when I pre-ordered my S3. Got it for only $64 with free shipping. Glad I bought it then, too, because the price jumped up $10 - $15 everywhere else a week later as demand picked up, and it hasn't gone back down yet.

I bought a couple of these last month for 59.99, and I've seen them on Best Buy daily deals twice this month for several dollars less than that shipped. Just keep your eyes peeled. Working great, with tons of space considering the apps aren't taking up space on the card.

It's beginning to show some corruption problems. File extensions are getting changed and other issues.
This is happening on 2 separate devices S3 and Nook Color.
I have a tech request with Sandisk and am waiting to see what they say.

Just RMA'd mine and am awaiting replacement.

Class 10 cards are fast but not reliable like class 4-6. That's more than likely the reason for corruption happening.

Use this app to format it to FAT 32.

I have issues with the SanDisk 64GB Ultra Class 10 card.... Whenever I flash a new ROM the card crashes and I lose My data and I need to format it again....

yeap class 10 uhs-1.
I ordered from amazon $59.99 1-2month wait time. They lied, it only took them 5 days to ship my card. Only problem i had was that EXFAT did not work right out of the box. had to reformated to Fat32, This card is even faster than the samsung 32gb class 10 i had which goes on sale for $30 all the time.

64GB sdxc card - $16.99

I found this in the S3 forums. I am certain it is a fake but if the size is close and the speed is around 4 or better it is still worth it IMO. So if you like to gamble here is your chance

This exact MicroSD card is going for $99 on Newegg so there's little doubt it's counterfeit. For another $10 I'd rather spring for a 32GB card that comes with a warranty and hassle free return. Also I heard with the 64GB card the media scanner takes forever to process it.

My last one cost about 65-70$ from Amazon (so you can definitely get them cheaper than Newegg,) but I do agree that these are likely counterfeit (or stolen... muhahahaha)
Media scanner: yea, but marking the media scanner to not scan it (.nomedia) is my normal fix for that issue.

I have one already, not the one from eBay but the official one, in my S2 and the media scanner doesn't take any longer than the 32 I had. But I haven't packed it full of media either.

For the price ill bite, if something goes wrong then at least I'm paying with paypal

Here is an interesting article with some very interesting insight into the world of "fake" microSD card manufacturing in China... written by an American(?) who works at a factory in China. Apparently some "fake" cards are just substandard cards that flash memory makers dump on thesecondary markets...

I didnt understand it completely, but I think he was trying to say that he will refund fully if I will not satisfy with the card, and I dont need to return it back.
Still finger crossed.. Dont know whether the card will arrive or not

Mine emailed late last night that it was marked shipped so patiently waiting. If this is a real one then I will sad I didn't order 3 instead of one...

That means that sale is over. You can click on the seller and see if he has any more open. If not you are out of luck, or in luck depending on how this turns out
