[Q] Sony smart wireless headset pro - anyone tryed yet? - HTC One X

Hello guys, have anyone yet try it with HOX? I am looking forward to getting it but I am just not sure about music quality, because that is a main function for me, so I would like to know if anyone tested it with HOX already, and how is music from default sony earplugs that are included there, comparing to let's say iBeats by Dr.Dre (the ones that was included with HTC Sensation XE)
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/smart-wireless-headset-pro/specifications/
any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Personally I simply love it, no issues so far and already tried with various custom rom's (currently at maXimus 2.1)
Also recently it got a firmware update (notification came from the phone) but I haven seen the change log yet.
The quality of the bundled ear-buds is more than enough to my likening, also have Klipsch s4 and M40 but often find myself just using those from sony, go figure

What about the a-jays one+?
It doesn't have as much features as the sony, but I think its comparable to the iBeats that come with the sensation

Sorry my mistake.
There's the Plantronics BackBeat GO. If your looking for wireless.

I have had the Xperia MH1C Smart Wireless headset pro for about a week now, so I will do a mini review.
Pros
Wireless- Works pretty well, bluetooth can skip every once in a while, but it is so rare it doesn't bother me at all. It connects really easily and auto pairs great.
Micro SD slot- I love this feature as I bike alot and would rather take a small device then lug around my phone.
Package Contents- You get a charger, microsd reader, headphones, micro usb cord, 2gb card, and the device itself for 100 bucks. Considering a decent microsd reader costs 15-20 dollars it is a pretty good deal.
Headphones- I have always liked Sony's headphones and have used them for years. These are no exception, the bass is clear and the treble is not too loud. You can't even begin to compare cheap headphones like the Skull Candys to these. I don't believe in spending a ton on earbud headphones and these fell right in the price range for what I want. They fit great even with my smaller ear canals. People have complained about the cord being stiff, but I think it's a great step forward. My problem has always been tearing the cord or getting it really tangled. This cord will be hard as hell to tear as it is really tough. Also it feels really good. My trick for wearing them is to use the supplied clip on the longer right earbud cord and attach the clip to the rear collar of my shirt. This makes it impossible to pull the right earbud out when turning your head. I have played golf and ridden my bike with them and had no issues whatsoever.
Looks- Some people might think it is ugly but I think it looks great. Similar to the Xperia S.
Battery Life- The device easily lasts a week for me
Software works good- no problem with the additional features
Cons
SD Card playback sucks. Sometimes it will recognize the whole album and sometimes it won't. It is also kind of slow when going through songs, but not too bad. Also sometimes it won't return to the previous track when using the button, the left button does play/pause instead.
Gmail App for it will destroy your battery, it really eats battery life.
Size- The device could be a bit smaller, but for the sound quality and features it is acceptable
Needs a carrying case, Sony should have included one for the price
The clip is sturdy but it would be nice if it rotated as well.
Should have come with a lanyard but I was able to find an old one I had laying around and use that with it. It is an iRiver lanyard and works really good.

I would like to compare my experiences with the Sony Smart Wireless Headset Pro with mrsatan's review. As a quick summary though I'd say - DON'T BUY THIS OVERPRICED PIECE OF JUNK!
I fully agree that the SWHP device completely sucks as an MP3 player. It doesn't copy files across properly to the SD card just connecting via USB - you need to use Sony's useless Media Go application to do it and that is a terrible experience in itself.
Despite saying it supports up to a 32GB SD card, I have only half filled a 16GB an already the MP3 playback is completely lost. It takes a VERY long time to "scan" the files before you can start playback and then it doesn't even recognise songs within albums, playing the first song of the album and then stopping after that with no ability to skip to or even browse the other tracks. It does exactly the same when trying to play all the tracks of one artist - only plays the first then stops dead.
If you press the forward skip button it just pauses the track. When cycling back through the entire list of songs (which it can't do properly, rebooting itself once you try to go back past the first song in the list (which isn't alphabetical BTW)), you need to press the back skip button twice to go back.
I used to have the Sony MW600 (previous model that was only a BT headset/FM radio without MP3 support) and I would have to say even that was better as a BT headset because at least the call and voice command functions worked with that. Most of the time the SWHP doesn't even answer an incoming call when you press the button as it says you're supposed to.
I was waiting a long time for this device to get released and now I can see why it was delayed so long but still wonder why it was released at all when even the most basic functions do not work at all. I strongly suggest that you choose a different device if you were considering buying this P.O.S..

Heads Up!!!on SOny A2DP Headphones DR-BT20NX

(i posted this in the Wizard forums but i just wanted to inform as many peeps as possible, since the headphones that are like the ones below have gotten positive revies from alot of people
I know alot of you used the Sony DR-BT10NX but have ya seen the 20x model>? It combines the playback features along with the 11 hour play time!!! I was unable to order them form amazon uk to the USA but i remember a site called audio cubes where i used to get my sony MDR earbuds aloong time ago.. anyways...they have it and i just ordered a pair. they come in white or black. I just bought them for $117.90 USD . Check them out!! I think i am in heaven!!! I was torn between the SOny Ericsson DS970 and the DR-BT10NX which has only volume keys. Do i want playback time or audio controls? This one is both!!!!! Just a tip... buy them with an AMex card to get a 2 year warranty
Check em and tell me what ya think

alright......
i finally got my headphones...only used them a few minutes but so far they are awesome. they have a very good range,
they are decently loud (about the same as the Sony Ericson Ones) and the sound is very clear and they have alot of bass!!!!!
so far i am loving these headphones.
the call quality is pretty good considering the mic is in the middle of the main unit. i wouldnt recommend walking outside and using the mic while is on your chest. the wind is going to make it sound horrible. but if you lift it up it will sound good.
as far as the incoming audio for calls.it also sounds very good!
So far i noticed though i can only get the commands on the FF or Rewind/play stop to only work with the windows media player and not with the Core Media player. Also sometimes ive gotten the thing that the audio cuts off for a bit but i think its more of an issue with the pocket pc. it cuts alot even when i use headphones, depending on what is running in the background.
The main "unit" its pretty chunky. Its like the DR-BT20NX. The cable that goes around your neck is very strong and it has a side that snaps if the cord is pulled very hard(the right) and the left side has a piece that you can twist to open the cable like a necklace.
it also comes with its own charging stand which looks cool on the desk
i am using farias wm5 rom with the 8mb pool. and the cingular leaked radio rom
I added some pictures for everyone to see..... check em out
I was missing the extra earbuds and the little plastic capsule that holds the eardbuds to protect it... but in a nut shell.. heres what this beauty looks like..............

I have the Sony-Ericsson HBH-DS970's
I think they main unit is smaller, plus it has a caller id display, which is nice, and the microphone is close to the right earpiece, and the left earpiece has a call/end button, which is also nice. Earphones seem similar on each set. Mine work fine with stereo music and with Voice Command.

Thanks for the posting and the photos.
It looks like this is my next headset which I'll get as soon as I get my money back for the very 'odd' Plantronics Pulsar 260 with a 43" cable lenth.
Thanks again!

I just got a set of these for my Cingular 8125. They work better than expected! I'm really glad I picked them up. Thanks for the heads up on a nice set of bluetooth stereo earbuds. All functions work and sound quality is great for me!
I'm really glad I got a 4gb miniSD card now!

I got my DR-BT30QB today and they've worked pretty well so far. The only wierd thing is I've had a little popping problem that occurs once in a while. I'm using an XDA Mini S with Xplore 1.1 ROM. I also have a Dell notebook using the Toshiba stack. I got the popping earlier when I was playing games on my notebook and also had the phone paired to the headphones as well.
Maybe I paired using the wrong profile? But so far, these headphones are nice and I think I can get by with wearing them for long periods of time.

Nice to heard useful info like this.
But I dunno whether it will works with my ETEN M600 ROM WWE230. I've tried Sony Ericsson HBH DS970 but the music will not resume after incoming call, then losing the pair, and I have to re-pair everytime.
The only working and good Stereo BT for my ETEN is iTech S35. But it does not have AVRCP. Besides, i'd prefer that pendant necklace design of BT20NX (and SE HBH DS970, has anyone realize they both share some design principle? )than clip-on-shirt approach from iTech.
Anyone can give suggestion?
Ok, forgot my question about ETEN compatibility.
Has anyone also tried Philips SHB7100/27 (Stereo A2DP with AVRCP)? It's quite new i guess.

[Q]"Best" Headset for Note?

Hi all,
I'm wondering what headset (Bluetooth/Wired) you use for your Note? I'm using Marshall Minor, but I still find the volume not loud enough.
Would any of you recommend something else? I live in Hong Kong which is fairly noisy, so something that has good volume would be great.
Thanks in advance!
I haven't got a Note yet, but I use the Sony MW600 bluetooth headset with my HD2. And I'd be lost without it - best thing I've bought!
No problems syncing to the device, it has remote control (pause, next/previous), hands free talk as it has built in mic, and comes with in ear buds, which are very good indeed. They block out quite a bit of external noise too, but you can plug in any headset you want to it if you want to go to higher spec headphones. Battery lasts about 10 hours continuous use, and it will re-charge of your Note's charger.
I'm not an audiophile, but I do like music. And it does me fine.
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.ph...w600---black?gclid=CLftmIS1n6wCFYEZ4QodOzpc_Q
Edit - Just had a look at the Marshalls, and these would offer a tighter fit in the ear then the Marshalls, so would block out more external noise. I wear mine in work, even if i'm not listening to music. I work in the print industry with loud machinery, and they are better than the ear plugs we get given, which reduce external noise by 27 dB. If I'm listening to music in work while my machines are running, and you want to chat - then you ain't gonna get through unless you're in my face!

That's a pretty sweet headset. How much does it stick out after you put it on? Does it get loose easily? I used to own a pair of the Sony is800 headset and it would fall out easily. I was wondering if this is the same.

My previous headset was the Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800
Compared to the Sonys:
- They seem to fit better in my ear (they come with 3 different bud sizes)
- The earbuds are slightly larger and so I guess they do stick out a little more, though I haven't noticed any issue with it
- An extra 2 hours of call/music time
- Have FF/RW controls as well as volume adjust (The Sony's only have Play/Pause/Answer)
- I haven't had any issues with people hearing me or me hearing other people when using them, but I've yet to test them somewhere really noisy
- They come in Red (if that's your thing)

Thanks for the comparison. How's the sound quality compare to the Sony?
I was thinking about this but didnt bother getting one once i saw the Note, not as big as the press would have u believe!
I was considering the NOKIA J - i has a small clipable dock so i wouldnt have to have it in the ear all the time...
3 months standby time
Auto answer when taken out of dock
Few more feature i cant remember now, worth having a look at.

Besides being a gadget phone nut I am also a sick buyer of headsets. I have been in search of the perfect headset forever ..
There is one by Sony that I love the way it fits. They don't make it any more and every now and then I find one on eBay ..
I have the Sennheiser bluetooth headset. If you look hard you can find one new on eBay most of the time for about $60 .. I like that one a lot because I have small ear holes and those go on the outside of your ear ..
I also have 2 Bang & Olafsen bluetooth headsets .. One left ear which I am keeping and the other right ear which I am gonna sell when I find it .. I also have the wired Bang & Olafsen head set. I read that it has a teeny tiny microphone somewhere .. I don't know if that is my model .. use it for listening to music ..
I actually have a box of discarded bluetooth headsets. I should put them all together in one lot and sell them. Maybe I will do that today. Don't know if I can find all the chargers though .. They are all discarded because I find them uncomfortable to wear.
For music or movies I use the Sennheiser M400s which have a nice balanced sound and good battery life. For calls, it's hard to go past the Plantronics Discovery 975 - small and sleek, super comfortable to wear, and really good battery life (especially with the included charging case).......
I can't wear anything that doesn't go around the ear. And if it goes in the ear, ugh. After a half hour I have to take it out because it gets painful. Maybe if I had bigger ears .. or Man Ears .. it wouldn't be so bad. They are doing hearing aid implants now, maybe they could do a little bluetooth implant ??

I got these 2 days ago from Amazon:
amazon.de/Philips-SHB9001-00-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B00424O4RU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320610417&sr=8-1[/url]
the quality while talking is not the best but its enough for me.
Despite the positive comments about the quality of just listening to music, i can hear some "scratches" when a song gets "heavier". This is my first BT Headset so maybe its normal for BT headsets, or i just overlooked a setting i have to change in the Software.. Hint, anyone?

Do you have a budget in mind? I think we can offer better suggestions if you give us a budget range.
I use Sennheiser IE8 connected to a Sony/Ericsson Bluetooth receiver on the go, and a small digital analog converter/amplifier by NuFore together with the headphones when working.

Hi, thanks for replying. I do not have a budget in mind, my usual principle is to pay what's worth its salt.
So far, everyone's recommended bluetooth wireless headsets, I'm not a big fan of charging stuff, having need to recharge my phone nightly already. But if there are no better wired devices out there, I might as well get Bluetooth because call quality is more important to me than music quality which my Marshall Minor does just fine.
I'm looking for a $100 max wired in-hear headset with mike and very complete remote too. It seems Android is not very friendly with those at all, so I'm thinking I'll have to go Bluetooth. What I found:
- http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/mc2.html, if their software works on Note (untested)
- a-JAYS One+, coming in Dec.: http://www.jays.se/products/earphones/a-jays-one-plus.html (uses software too)
- Sennheiser just confirmed they have nothing wired.
- Klipsch: Image S4A http://www.klipsch.com/image-S4A-headphones being adapted for S2, Note = S2 ?
- Samsung: told me to go f... (...ind a solution by) myself
Soft: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kober.headset , and others, look for "headset control". This one has a trial version, yeahhhh ^^
EDIT: I'm putting everything worthwhile I find in this post, so as not to spread it all over the place.

I am very happy with my Bang and Olefsen wired headset ..
hi all... just like to pop a quick question:
does the Gnote able to accept the standard wired headphones w/mic from other brands for example: UE? i am on galaxy S and i have been searching for headphone w/mic to replace the original ones from samsung but as usual when i connect other brands of headphone w/mic to my S; all i can hear is the music.. whenever i am making calls the headphone fails me...

[Q] Galaxy s2 headset controls

I've been using the OEM headset that came with this phone and for one they are quite good for headphones that come with the product.
My question is does anyone know the controls for the headset? So far from using it I know that the main button pressed once is for mute/play/answer calls and if you double press it quickly it will skip to the next track (but you have to do it correctly or sometimes it won't do anything ).
Anyone else know the other control settings?
that's pretty much it AFAIK
if there are other features, then i've not used it that far
Wow, these are surprisingly very good headphones, and the controls actually work.
Thanks man, totally forgot we even got headphones with our phones.
Btw, if you hold down the top side of the "clicker thing", it raises volume slowly, if you hold the bottom end it lowers it. not the best control, but its in addition to what you think we had.
yes, i was very surprised this time as well, being a long time Samsung customer, this is the first time they packed in Quality Premium headphones with their phones

this is great news for me, i've been trying to replace my last ear buds and my latest purchase were these over ear Sony MDR V6s. they are AWESOME headphones but my first pair of quality over ears, and they might be a bit over doing it for what I need 'phones for, so I was gonna return them and get some earbuds again.
lucky for me i saw this topic and discovered we have decent earbuds with the phone + the controls are just an added bonus.

So far we can change the volume, answer/end calls, skip a song.
Anything else (playback a song with 3 clicks?)? Also, does anyone find the controls to be spastic at times (sometimes they work correctly, other times it lags a bit)?
is there the same functionality with headsets made for iphones (but not made from apple)? i have a really good set of sony's that fit my ears better than the ones that came in the box.
Damn my phone box did not had any headphones nor it mentions it on the box

Thanks for the info on double click and volume control (I'll have to try that). I've seen people complain about the headphones, but I was quite happy with them. The noise canceling is quite powerful as I can't hear much of anything else when I've got them on. I'm not used to $200+ headphones, so perhaps my standards are low, but I've been very happy with them.
help needed!!!!!!!!!
hello everyone..
my problem is my rabit, i put my headset on the table and i went out. whn i came back my headset was in several pieces, my rabit eaten it up.. all i want to say.. from where can i have the orignal samsung sgs2 headset.. i cant find them here in my country (pakistan) sadly..
can anyone help me in that case..????
Any handsets ordered after dec 12th from tmobile (i.e. the white galaxy s2) will not receive the headsets.
Its really stupid as I didn't get one
HTC 3-button buds work...
interesting behavior: the + and - raise/lower volume in the stock music app! And the middle button does the usual play/pause/answer shtick.

1. is this with an htc phone or the hercules?
2. are these just any old oem htc earbuds i could buy on ebay?
Lol at the rabbit.
its time to eat it mate.
They are on ebay everywhere, and rather cheap.
Got my phone on valentine's day, did even come with a headset... USB cable and that was that. Picked up a cheap'o at Wallymart... works fine.
First time, long time...Lurking for a while, not posted until now...
Anyway, my phone came with nothing but the wall charger and cable - maybe some booklets. I got my junk at T-Mobile and I asked about headphones. The chick there said it didn't come with any...But because she had a nice rack I just went with it and here I am. Looking at ROMS, but wandered into this section and thought I would throw in my 2 bits.
I have been using the headphones that came with my Sony MP3 player and they sound ok. I bet some quality ear buds would do my ears justice but I am too cheap and my ears are too deaf. Maybe in the future, we'll see.
these headphones sound great but mine already broke. there is chord stress around the connector and now i only get sound out of one earpiece and not both. great sound but not very durable.

sony erricson mw600 with note

Hey guys, i've a question i'm planning to buy sony erricson mw600 bluetooth for galaxy note but there are few questions that i want to ask is:
1) whether all the keys like volume etc work fine with it?
2) how is the sound quality in terms of music and calls.
3) is there an option of fast forwarding and skipping of songs.
4) what about the range of Bluetooth?
Please guys help me out and if there is any other better option available than mw600 (similar to it) than do suggest me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, i have one.
1) whether all the keys like volume etc work fine with it?
Yes, no problem
2) how is the sound quality in terms of music and calls.
Very good quality
3) is there an option of fast forwarding and skipping of songs.
Hold forward or backward
4) what about the range of Bluetooth?
Like others, 12 meters and no problem.
Everything is ok ! Buy it
You have radio function too with the mw600.
IMHO, a very good bluetooth kit, good song for daily use.
(Sorry for my poor English).
I had the the MW600...but returned.
I don't like the fact the clip is so sensitive, always clicked when clip on .
I got this ...Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 instead.

All the functions work, play/pause, skip/last, volume, call send and end, etc.
Sound quality is great, I love the fact you can use any earbuds thanks to the 3.5mm jack. I use some pretty high-end in ear modules and they sound really good. The buds that come with the module sound decent as well.
Yes you can fast forward (long press) or just skip, with a single click of the forward button.
Bluetooth range, covers my small apartment with no issue. So 30 feet or so?
I'm loving this with my note, having to take out the note to control my music was getting really bothersome, now I can leave it in my pocket
Wanted to like it but the touch sensitive volume adjust was a big no no
I have one and love it volume sensitivity isn't an issue for me.

Don't agree at all. Actually I thought it would be a problem but fortunately the volume changes only when you mean to change it. I use it every single day on my Note.

First, it don't have the clip attachment so it very comfortable.
Battery life is not bad,I didn't really tested how long it last but it good for me.
when using as the Mic for the phone, no compliant from the other end.
Sound it good for music using with Poweramp which have the equalizer.

I have a set of MW600, which I think are excellent.
I did look at the IS800's, but they had one massive flaw in comparison IMO, and that is that unlike the MW600's, they don't use MicroUSB for charging.
As a frequent traveller, I don't want to carry more chargers than is strictly necessary, and having to carry a dedicated charger for a tiny set of headphones just doesn't work for me.

Dave

That's a valid point. For me I'm fine with that.

range of bluetooth seems pretty excellent. Interestingly the quality isn't much worse than the output from the headphone jack on the note itself (which is appalling, but just to make the point).
Something I would love to experiment with is using different headphones with it, as well as using an AOSP bluetooth stack with higher bitpool. Higher bitpool by itself would make the headphones well.. perfect. The DAC on them is no worse than the GNote dac.
I definitely love the fact that they use MicroUSB for charging, as I only need to keep one charger around. I could probably get away with just using one wall adapter for a micro USB cable, and having a portable USB device as well as a single cable to charge two devices on the go.
Battery life is really good, and I've had it last two days before on a single charge. Sometimes (with heavy use) it dies with the note, which is not a problem either
i have the mw600 and use a pair of etymotic hf5 with it and love it

That Sony looks nice. For me the point of wireless headphones would be no Clip on unit and less cables which i like about the is800's .

The only issue I have with the mw600 is that - as I am a frequent traveller too and I use a second phone with a local SIM card - it can not connect simultaneously with two phones, although it can be paired with two phones.
It can only connect to one phone and one other device, like a computer or particularly in my case with a Motorola Xoom.

I have a ViewSonic V350 backup phone which I use when travelling as it has dual SIMs!
It's not a stellar handset in and of itself (poor screen), but it is ideal when travelling.

Brookstone Dual Drive Earbuds - does the control also work with S3?

I am very tempted by a pair of Brookstone Dual Drive Earbuds - but it would be very relevant if the volume control also works OK with Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 ?! Does anybody have one or tested one??
I have them. I just tried it for you - and the one button does work for pausing and controlling music at least using the stock audio player. Compatibility will depend on the app, but in general the control button does work. Be aware that they're bass heavy earphones, the mids and treble suffer by comparison.
That said - I'd rather recommend the Sony MH1C earphones that are causing a stir on head-phi. You can now get them for $30 or so on Amazon or EBAY, the OEM version usually packaged with phones. That said - I bought them at $20 before the demand went nuts.
That said - they're worth every penny for audiophiles. The clarity is amazing for the price, and I own some expensive headphones. But also - I haven't used the remote on the MH1C with my S3, though I'm pretty sure it will work. I just don't have those headphones here at work, and won't have access to them until tomorrow.
In short - the Brookstone DDMS work with the S3, but for the money I'd far rather recommend the Sony MH1C instead - even if the remote didn't work.
I am confused ...

I am a little confused - the Brookstone Dual Drive Earbuds that I had in mind - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41thmw4bv+L._SL500_.jpg - clearly have 3 buttons and two of them are supposed to alter volume on an iPhone

I was never very impressed with Sony earbuds (but I was with some high-end Sony headphones, the price was however not competitive), but I never tried the MH1C - I might try to test it first somehow but I doubt I will buy if all the controls do not work on the S3 - I already have some very good (older) Panasonic stuff for just listening (clearly superior to the stock stuff coming with S3), what I was interested was something dual-drive that could completely replace the full original Samsung functionality ...
One option that remains in theory is to get another S3 original replacements (not so expensive - about 3-4 EUR but so far I could only find white) and the Brookstone Dual Drive Earbud and then cut the cables above the controls and restore with some professional soldering ...
Doh, sorry. About the same time as the Brookstone IEM's came out, Able Planet came out with dual dynamic driver IEM's. I bought the Able Planet IEM's when they went on clearance, and confused the two. But the reviews for audio quality are very similar. They are very bass oriented. Here's a series of opinions on the Able Planet IEM's from Head-fi:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/605919/able-planet-dual-dynamic-driver-iems-impressions-thread/30
The Able Planets only have one button for pausing and playing music. The Sony MH1C have the same three buttons as the Brookstones I believe. I'll test the controls tonight.
I'd never been impressed with Sony IEM's before either. But I saw the hype on these start to grow at head-fi, and took a dive when the OEM (no retail packaging, in a ziplock bag) versions went on sale for $20. I bought head-direct Re0's for $80 a couple years ago, and the MH1C's sound better overall. I bought Triple Fi TF10's (3 balanced armatures) for $100 a few years ago, and these sound better overall as well. I have quad driver custom earphones, and these get me about 80% of the way to that sound. I'm really surprised at the clarity across lows to highs. I'm not fond of the flat cables however.
In short - I'll try the remote buttons tonight with the S3, and I'm pretty confident you'll prefer the sound of the MH1C earphones to the Brookstone Dual Drivers. Unless you are a bass-head, in which case all bets are off.
I tested my Sony MH1C's with the stock music player - and they worked absolutely great, no problems whatsoever. The 3 main buttons worked to change the volume up and down, as well as pause/play music. There's a 4th button that enabled an app on Sony phones - and I couldn't figure out how to make it do anything. Someone mentioned an app that can make it useful - but I didn't try too hard. The sound quality was pretty great, and even though these like more power (from an amp) - the volume would go high enough to hurt my ears on the S3.
In short - I'd recommend these for use on the Galaxy S3 without reservation. This was the link I'd bought from:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008CCSD7K/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
It looks like they're out of stock, but EBAY had the OEM (non-retail packaging) for $26.
If you end up going with the Brookstones, please report back how it went.
