For the past week I've been working on porting Salad Bar over to the Bravo and have finally reached a milestone -- It compiles and boots... There's a few bugs present, almost all are ui related except for USB Tethering. While its can be used for everyday use, I still consider it alpha with the battery % bug and no tethering.
I don't take any credit for developing Salad Bar -- all credit goes to Rob43. I'm just porting it over to our device (and I suppose the Defy as well since we share a common framework).
Features (Taken from Salad Bar Page)
CyanogenMod 9 base
Bottom statusbar
Brightness toast panel
Gradient background fix
Settings: GPS toggle & status info
All-In-One Salad Bar (combined navigation & statusbar)
swipe up to expand
customizable power widget
same button layout as stock navigation bar
key button popup effect
Jellybean framework drawables
Few of my* other patches (*Rob43)
I also added in full support for 1-10 Multitouch Points in Defy Parts.
I had to remove the voice quality options (crisp, clear, etc) in order to compile. I'll add them back in as soon as I find the missing strings in the Salad Bar framework. Its a pita since Quarx and Epsy use modified frameworks to workaround the kernel and hardware limitations and I have to find their mods and apply accordingly.
Download Bravo Salad Bar Here
If this doesn't boot, replact /system/etc/media_profiles.xml from any other CM9 rom for the Bravo.
I'd post screen shots, but I switched back to CM9 in order to upload the rom. To get an idea of what it looks like, here is a link to the original thread.
Bugs I've noticed:
Battery % Stays at 100
No AM\PM on the Clock
Image warning in recovery (recovery still works just fine)
No USB Tethering
Bugs Listed on the Mods Page:
All-In-One Salad Bar: Navigation mode must be toggled if you switch off the salad bar for the regular nav bar to display
All-In-One Salad Bar: Reboot necessary after toggling salad bar else screen margins might be buggy upon rotation

So, my wife just shattered the screen on her Bravo, do I get a new screen, or give her mine, and get me a Defy?

The screen is much cheaper than a Defy, you'd save at least $100 by getting a new screen and that's buying a used Defy from ebay. If you really want a Defy, then get one. The only real advantage that the Defy has over the Bravo is the ability to go to BL5\6 and swap between the GB and Froyo kernels. If you have the money to spare, I'd use it as an excuse to buy a phone with an unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for sharing.
Should have an update soon. Everything works, but I'm having one issue....The Salad Bar Clock -- probably a pull\merge issue. Normal Navigation Bar works just fine.
Looks great cannot wait to try!

Yup, went with the screen option. I wish I had the money to spend on a new phone but alas I am a computer tech working at a grocery store. So I haven't a penny to spare.

Is anyone good with transparancy? If so would you mind helping me with my rom? You can pm me, add me on aim, gtalk, or msn all of them are the same screen name [email protected],gmail,live.com I would really appreciate it. The rom is bases of stock 3.70 deodex. Thanks in advance!

Remember that fix I told you about that I was trying to accomplish today? Well I started it and it messed up my entire status bar and notification window. I have the GB battery with froyo icons, and GB notifications. The status bar isn't fully black but it's not transparent you can't see through it at all no matter how bright the wallpaper is. The notification window is all black which I also want to be transparent. It's like I did the complete opposite of turning it transparent and made it like a blackout theme lol which I didn't want to do. I'm going to put the notification bar toggles in there and send you the framework-res.apk in a couple minutes.

alright shouldn't be too hard for me to fix this
Here Is The Framework-res.apk
I also removed all GB from the rom because it was having to many problems to find out where the error is so everything is pretty much stock. Only thing included is 4in1 reboot, 4x5 workspace and appdraw, I was putting the hotspot hack in but I don't think it worked out but I should be able to fix that.
Edit removed old framework
Here is my new framework I haven't found any problems with this one. It has a 4x5 workspace, app draw, 4 in 1 reboot, power widgets in the notifications, and sprint hotspot hack. Next i want to change the dock from stock to GB, then after that work on the status bar.

I give you TSM Pool Party v2.0 ICS 4.0.4 for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus . Pool Party began with Sbrissen (xda/rootzwiki) a Samsung Fascinate developer that ported every single SGS style lockscreen into one convenient package. At the time, his work was called TeamSbrissenMod Lockscreens. After perfecting the control app TSMParts.apk and adding in some status bar GUI love and a few other system wide options, he packed it into what was called Pool Party. The rom was released on the Facsinate, ported to the Epic in GB by Maddoggin and ported to the NS4G as well as the Nexus S by myself (Dreamsforgotten). Since GB, Sbrissen has been churning out work (I believe for CM9 ICS) on the Fascinate and has stopped production of Pool Party. I put this together for everyone to continue to enjoy the Pool Party Line of Roms.
Code:
[color="blue"]
Android:Source = IMM76I ICS 4.0.4
Linux:Platform = Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS Lucid
Android:Kernel = NONE [Both Franco Kernel and James Bond work flawless, I use Franco]
[/color]
((I rather NOT flash a kernel, because kernels are a personal choice, each user uses a different kernel for different reasons. Being that this rom does NOT flash a kernel, if your on a stock kernel, your good. However, if you are NOT on a stock kernel, keep in mind any init.d folders, modified modules, etc that the kernel your using flashes, will be overwritten by the rom and you MUST reflash your kernel.))
Sbrissen's Official Thread can be found here: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?2670-ROM-8-24-TSMPoolParty-V1.2-2.3.5&
Please stop by and thank Scott for everything without which this would never be possible.
The features in the ROM are a colaboration of TSMPool Party code via Sbrissen, CM9 source, and AOKP source. The control app is 100% work of Sbrissen and I re wrote the app to speak to the new variables in ICS that changed since GB (which was a **** ton!)

ChangeLog: Link coming soon to in dept changes
Here's the short and sweet
v1.2 Milestone 1, Finally looking how it's supposed to, stable code came in v1.0, theme and new features came in 1.2
Included Honey, and Ring LockScreen in addition to Stock, Tab, 4Tab Screens. Total 5 LockScreens
Lockscreens Themed for ICS from GB and Clock widget updated to ICS text.
Changed to the design of the new toggles via AOKP versus the classic ones
Added a submenu in Lockscreen Parts including the nav bar menu from Rom Control. You have all the nav bar features of AOKP in the SystemUI
Big menu softkey in nav bar is achieved by hiding the normal menu key and adding in another soft key that triggers the menu
Back is always Longpress to kill keeps it locked in by default.
Added in the code for Rotary, Rotary Revamped, and Lense LockScreen. Have to tweak the code and size the images to add the choices into TSMParts.apk
V1.0 Bugfix Rom / Still V1.0 Released May 21, 2012. (From here out version numbers change)
Fixed MMS failing to download Bug noticed by snoopy1e11
Native Tether included pointed out by radadev fix via jakdillard
Included LatinIMEGoogle and LatinIMEDictionaryPack.apk fix explained here [url="http
V1.0 - First Draft
This rom is AOSP goolge source, mods on top inlcude:
TSMParts.apk, Settings.apk mods for control app, 100% Sbrissen work, I rewrote the values that changed in settings.java and deleted features that are not relevant any longer. I also added in methods to speak with AOKP code in the status bar
SystemUI.apk-Kanged AOKP for the new toggles layout and used their code for carrier text in the status bar. I did not Kang the swagger toggle powersave code/toggle and the rest of thier added code, I only Kanged the features that were already in Pool Party from day 1
Frameworks Framework.apk/Framework.jar
I modded the lockscreens using the original lockscreens from TSM Pool Party 1.5 by Sbrissn. None of this code is from AOKP or CM9
I change the value to never use scrolling cache to default with no way to reach that setting in the control app. That means this rom runs with scrolling handled by the GPU not cached in android. I am not a fan of the scrolling cache at this point, lets see if it improves in future versions
Credits:
Maddoggin - I thank Maddoggin first and he didn't contribute directly to building the rom. He actually donated me the Galaxy Nexus which is the only reason I'm here to begin with. I would still be shelling out this rom only for the NS4G
Scott Brissenden - (Sbrissen aka Team Sbrissen Mods) for creating Pool Party for the fascinate in Ginger Bread. Before him there was CM7, OMFGB, and 1 or 2 othes that were using similar mods. Scott perfected all the galaxy S lockscreens into a package of his own with their own personal features. These are present in this rom as well. Also thank him for answering numerous questions
BigRushDog - My phone came in non working with no 3G so I had to leave it stock in case of a return. BRD stepped up and cracked the mms errors found in building with the device files that were available from the beginning. Brd supplied me with the stable device and vendor files.
k0nane - for being on Gtalk 24/7 fixing my java issues with ubuntu 12 (before I ditched it for 10.04 again ) helping me with troubleshooting in logcat. And for always supporting my work.
ShabbyPenguin - for his normal antics, his hosting space at holyling****.com so I can give you my releases with no ads, no delay, and no data limits. For giving me an ear to vent into when I'm pissed. Many many more reasons lol.
Parabola from ACS - always giving me pointers in Java and helping me with errors
QBking77 - Making the video that will surface later
Peter Alphonso - All his support and base for the NS4G version before I converted this to the Galaxy Nexus. He has also came to my aid when I've reached points I couldn't pass.
The testers and users who support my work. I build roms for myself and hosting them and supporting them takes just as much time as building them. Your support and appreciating make it worth while to release and constantly update instead of keeping this to myslef.
and last but not least I like to give a special thanks to Jason aka (JasonK75 on xda). He is a stand up guy. I can't say why I'm thanking him, but we both know.
Chrystal0925 themed lock screens!

Try flashing a kernel over after the rom and gapps usually stuck at Google is kernel. There is no kernel in this rom noted on the OP do it might be erasing pieces of your kernel you previously had before the rom formatted system, let me know!

Awesome! No worries it's easy to forget formatting system does delete kernel parts, there isn't enough consistency of a best kernel so I don't want to turn people away from the rom when the kernel doesn't agree with the phone I rather users use the kernel they are comfortable with.
please note if anything pops up that doesn't work, I'm guessing your the first Verizon tester I've had lol.

Well its official. My time spent developing for android has come to an end. I have been through hell and back, lost it all. Now I am trying to get **** in order after the wreckage. I need an android device bad. Nothing better to get your mind off of **** than sitting and staring at code for a few hours. I hope I can get my hands on another nexus so I can get back into it.
When that happens, be looking for the next best rom out there. I got nothing but time to sit and stare at the damn computer and can't wait lol!
Thanks to all that have followed and appreciated my work. You guys have made my work worth it and I can't wait to get back into it!
I'll end this little rant with a short quote:
"WAR DAMN EAGLE!"
Keep your head up and you will be back in no time. Fellow Auburn Grad here. War Eagle!
Anybody is knowing of a GB ROM with ICS style softkeys/Navigation bar ? My buttons are getting dodgy and I got addicted to softkeys after using ICS/JB ROMs. Button Saviour from market is OK but not as good as a nav bar.

Thanks. I am trying to stabilize on one ROM. But so far no one ROM is meeting my 'exacting' requirements. LOL I think we are all spoiled for choice thanks to all these hardworking devs. My experiences with some ROMs-
CM 7 - Status bar toggles but no soft keys.
AOKP by K900 - Status bar toggles(Great), Soft Keys(Very Good). But the ROM reboots unpredictably.
Oxygen - Status bar toggles but no soft keys.
Nikez JB - No Status bar toggles, Soft Keys(Very Good). But I am not able to restore nandroids for some reason..
I had a problem with keys and I sent my Desire to HTC on repair (still a few months of warranty ), they simply cleaned up the connectors and all the buttons work fine now. If your warranty expired you can try to do it yourself, all you need is a few pieces of tool.
I'm sure I'll do it on my own next time, even if i still have warranty, cause now I don't have 'VOID' stickers on screws...
I have started using zmooth pro from play store. Its gesture based. There is also a lite version. Got used to it after 2 days. Feels natural now.
Hi all.
I am using Cm10 and have been for awhile but was wondering what the main differences are between CM and Task?

You have more options to mod the UI:
ROM Control- you can get nav bar like in nexus
change battery icon style, color
disable or custom boot animation
change toggle style and layout
add brightness bar to statusbar
enable face down audio mode when u put phone face down it would go to silent or vibrate
and more
lots of goodies that in cm10 you have to custom install
I find cm10 to be smoother than aokp

You have more options to mod the UI:
ROM Control- you can get nav bar like in nexus
change battery icon style, color
disable or custom boot animation

Interesting, seems like there are quite a few extras and worth the trial. The only think i see missing from CM10 is the additional 2 shortcuts from the lock screen (not a huge deal for me anyways)..
I'm curious though, how would one use ROM control with nav bar like in nexus (since S3 already has meny and back capacative)? Just wondering how it may be used..
Thanks again

Some people are used to the nav bar, maybe if they're coming from a Galaxy Nexus or something. I don't find it useful at all, because as you said, the S3 already has a menu, back, and home button. Also, you'll lose a bit of screen space by using them. Hope this helps!
