Excellent ROM, really enjoying it. Best battery life on this one =)
However, I'm hoping someone can help me with a couple of things:
Is there a way to run AOSP Calendar on this? I removed Sense, and installing gapps package or CalendarProvider.apk separately still doesn't register it in the system. Anybody know how to make it work?
QuickSettings - installing latest from the thread link mentioned in the OP doesn't work. Tried flashing it several times, cleared cache/dalvik cache - still no QS for me. Is it not compatible with this ROM? Then why is it mentioned?

---------------- How to install it -------------------
1) If you have a lagfix, disable it
2) wipe data/cache/dalvik
3) install zip from sdcard "Ginger_BASE" (from ClockWorkMod recovery)
3a) if something wrong happen (because kernels < K9 are a little incompatible with K9) i advice to you to install JM8 or JM9 (rom eclair) with pit512 and re-partition flagged in Odin, then flash official JP5 with pit803 without re-partition always from Odin. At this point, flash SpeedMod > or equal to K9 you prefer (as long as K9) from Odin as PDA. So, wipe data and cache, and proceed as described at point 3)...
4) reboot
5) return in recovery and make a wipe cache/dalvik-cache
6) install zip from sdcard "Ginger_THEME"
7) reboot

Nice rom to play with.
I installed over Docs Jp6. The first time I booted I was stuck at the welcome screen. Seems like the email.apk was faulty.
I installed the email.apk from doc, also I wasn't sure if it was recognizing launcher pro as my only launcher, so I installed the one from doc again, all from recovery.
Next boot works fine. Apart from side scrolling on emails.
This Rom has not wiped any data.

MoDaCo uploaded the gingerbread launcher to the market maybe you could add it too..and afaik there are also some other gingerapps going around..

I am not able to flash..
I disabled all lag fix, wipe data and cache and then flashed your ROM...but after Samsung Logo (Blue Animated) I got black screen with vibration..Tried 3 times...

Same problem here. I'm using JPO firmware, still wont boot correctly after wipes of data and cache. The touch keys work and light up, no vibration though - just random vibrations.
Re-flashed and still no luck.

What is actually happening and how to solve?
depends on whether the theme is compatible with the rom anot. some theme is not compatible with some roms.

you need to state what you have running such as rom, kernel, apps, tweaks, lagfixes etc, what theme you applied and the methods used, before anyone can assist you.
Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread but this happened to me too with your Black Android theme v3.5....
I actually had it working but flashed another theme to try and then tried to go back to Black Android and FC's like the OP.
Flashed with CWM, Speedmod 13C, no lagfix, 1st 3 tweaks (or not, tried both), I used a Doc kitchen rom JS5 based and tried both wipe and no-wipe, tried clearing caches...
Thought it was me but other themes work... Odd cuz it worked at first...
Hi, i just installed JJ's 2.4b rom..everything works fine and smooth.However some of the settings in rom control does not work for me such as the recent windows style settings and the start up tweak also does not work.These options work fine for me on v2.3..i did wipe caches after installing the rom...so what could be the problem? pls help...using xics kernel
You are right, the recent apps don't change display style. The changelog for 2.4b says it is a new ROM control apk. that's installed. I guess its a bug .

I met this problem before and found that it's busybox problem. link ash and bash to busybox in /system/xbin/ should fix this problem.
i have also these problems on2.4b, but i want to flash 2.5.
anybody knows if we must to do a factory reset from 2.4b to 2.5??? or only wipe cache and davlik cache???
i know that this is not the right thread for this question but i don't want to create a new one for a simple noob question....
EDIT: I've re-written this entire post because it got a bit messy and I don't think I explained things very well! Plus I messed up and uploaded the file as an APK and not a ZIP!
I've re-wiped my phone completely because I managed to get it into a muddle! I fully flashed ARHD30.0 & InsertCoin 3.0.5 and I was still getting gapps FC messages and apparently it's a known / common thing so I wiped the SD and everything, allowed Sense to have G+ access and now it's playing nice again! This was without even flashing my MOD! So something went squiffy!
Anyway:
This MOD has been tested on InsertCoin 3.0.5 which is based on the 3.57.401.500 ROM so it may work on other ROMs as well but I can't be certain. I did try this on ARHD30.0 and for some reason when I pressed the torch option it didn't work. Nothing seemed to happen. It could be because /system isn't mounted as RW or the flashlight APK is different or there's a file deny permission to the location where it writes the LED brightness to, I'm not sure yet but will see what it is if I get chance. It works fine on InsertCoin 3.0.5.
All you need to do is download the zip, flash it in recovery and then reboot your phone back into Sense 5.5 for the torch icon to appear and work.
When you pull down the notification tab there's a torch icon next to the quick settings button. You can tap this up to 3 times to increase the flash brightness levels. Pressing a 4th time will turn the torch off again.
I preferred this method because it doesn't just call the HTC Torch application, it actually does control the torch on and off.
I usually run ViperOne but I'm waiting for their sense 5.5 update so decided to throw this together as I like a lockscreen torch type thing!
Usual disclaimer applies, I'm not responsible for boot-looping your phone so please flash at your own risk and make a nandroid before you do!
Please remember to thank me if you think this is any good / you use it! I may change the icon / spacing as I'm not 100% sure I like it at the moment.

I can confirm that the MD5 for SystemUI.apk on InsertCoin 3.0.5 is a match to 3.0.4 so this MOD should work fine on the newest version also. Feedback is appreciated to let me know if it worked alright for you or not!?
Any suggestions or different torch icons / logos are appreciated too if anyone has a better icon to use!

Sorry to hear it didn't work. It must only work on pure Sense 5.5 based ROMs and not AOSP / Hybrid type ones. Thanks for trying and hopefully you have a backup to go back to?
If not you can copy out the SystemUI.apk from your ARHD GE ROM and put it in the zip file from this thread (overwrite mine that's in there) and re-flash and you will have your old one back.

Not sure if anyone is bothered for this but I've updated the style shown in the screenshots in this post. I can provide APK's for ROMs with this mod included and I know why it didn't work on ARHD and possibly stock ROMs etc. You need the following to be run in an init.d script:
chmod 666 /sys/class/leds/flashlight/brightness
I knew it was a permission issue somewhere but didn't look into it till it didn't work on Viper so I wanted to fix it!
Anyway, if anyone is interested post here, and I'll see what I can do. If you want it with the ROMs battery percentage or mine then let me know!
I have tried pulling the APK out of the rom zip and installing it, but the installation fails. I have also tried manually putting the apk in my apps folder, also does not work.
Any suggestions? I love the extension separator option and different colors for the background... but I prefer to use Danvd's 4.4.2 GE build.

"Well slims version is a mix from original dashclock + the one which was posted here by syned + our additions lol. Whatever it is not installable due that we have trds and it will only work on ROMs which support that. The hell I did not have time till now to push our changes to Roman. Will try to do it finally next week so roman can decide what he want or not. We tried to keep his style in "our" dashclock."
