So this is my working mod I made using bits of ICS Domination theme, wanam lite rom extra mod and Omega files lidroid theming for the toggles.
It's got bit of TW showing through, and a mismatched ICS blue text but it works and its clean and black!
Credits to the devs who made the original zips that I pulled apart and reassmbled to make my Frankenstein mod using Root Explorer.

Clear Dalvik cache? system UI updates are notoriously fickle but it DOES work. If you delete Systemui manually and then reflash it should work. Check for Lidroid.apk in system/framework.
I'm no dev so afraid I can't make the zip better so only use if you are experienced with this stuff.
If you copy the two apks to their destinations manually it WILL work.

Well, I've tried what you said and still no luck. I delete manually systemui and reflash and also I tried to copy the two apks to their locations. Wipe cache and dalvik. Nothing. Still SystemUI FC.

Or you could make sure you've done a nandroid backup. And then... I'm totally unsure about this, but anyway. You could manually delete your android.policy.odex file. I guess you'll get one hell of a force-close but after that enter to recovery and install the file. AFAIK it could work as removing the odex is pretty much same as deodexing the android.policy.jar file. If you end up in a bootloop, you can just restore your backup.

works great on CM7.2 RC0 by vo-1. Clock is centered and transparency in status bar works with relevant themes. When changing themes you have to reboot for changes to take effect. Works great dude!!!

Just take a dive in! Make a copy of whichever apk your planning to edit! Make the edits, put it in and see if it works, if it doesn't, you still have an original, hence the copy.

You have to make the statusbar background behind the actual stausbar image transparent and then make the image transparent

INSTALLATION
The installer "injects" the pngs in the original files of the rom and add the apps in the system. So it should be compatible with different roms of our SGS and different versions
The zip installer uses the Universal Flasher Tool, which is integrated in it. It has two advantages:
Make the two alone wipes needed (cache and dalvik cache)
Make a backup of the files that will be changed, creating an installable zip recovery. If you do not like the theme, you can return to the previous state of the ROM. The backup reinstallable find what UniversalFlasher folder in the sdcard. They are identified by the date on the file name.
To install:
Copy the downloaded zip in internal SD
Restart the phone in recovery
Choose "install zip from sdcard"
Choose "choose zip from sdcard"
Find and select the zip
Restart
To avoid errors, is recommended [/ B] always install on a ROM version that has not been previously modified with other mod or theme. However, in certain cases may occur bootloop on reboot. If so, reboot into recovery and restore the backup or reinstall your rom (no wipes).

Just extract the apk from the zip and copy it to system/app. Fix permissions and reboot. Make sure the permissions match the original accuweather1013.apk. I did this using root Explorer because I'm on Verizon and we have root but can't flash anything.

When I try to flash through twrp it just says failed, tried many times as well. When I also try to unzip it to put the apk in system/app, it says file corrupt.

Edit: I figured out what the problem was, I checked the size of the file and it was 18kb, for some reason whenever I try to download it from my phone it gets corrupted. I downloaded form my pc and everything worked fine
