Don't know if I'm hallucinating, deaf, or dumb, but it seems dsp with beats doesn't work on a systemwide level (pandora etc) also I hate beats. So here's cm9 dsp manager if anyone wants it. Works on any rom (i think) any carrier, and is system wide! It also seems to be less prone to crackling than the beats mod.
version 3 * ZIP *http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709497
version 1 APK *http://multiupload.biz/mfakw2a1i6uf/DSPManager_MultiUpload.biz.apk.html OLD VERSION
Have you tried this yourself on an AT&T, TMobile or Sprint S3?
Reason I ask is your posting it here, and I've tried it on Sprint's S3... no dice.
Installs fine, settings are there, but simply no effect in either the Samsung Music App, Google Music, nor PowerAmp (with EQ/Tone turned off of course).
It worked fine on my old HTC Evo, so I know how it is supposed to work etc... but no matter what setting I make on the S3, it sounds all the same. I had the same issue with a Beats Audio port someone posted, but they too never tested on SPrint's and I'm wondering if perhaps sprint did something special (wouldn't surprise me).
If you DO have it working, please post your Carrier , ROM, and which music app you're using to test (One where you can drastically change the DSP settings while music is playing and notice a difference).
Ohh and I'm using the Samsung Earbuds for now since those are the only ones with Volume I have and that's kinda nice
Well my bad I just can't imagine the carrier would matter in this case. Any other Sprint users want to chime in?

Good. this version has great bass btw.
I flashed it but it doesn't show up in music effects nor is there a dsp manager app. Sprint GS3.

I don't see how that's possible. I'd try again.
Flashed it again. Still nothing. I notice it says HTC one x in the script as it installs. Doubt that makes any difference since there was only one dl. Are you using the older version or version 3? Cause I am trying to flash version 3.

I tried both.version one works but sucks. Yeah it's originally from one x but works for me. Did your rom have audio enhancement already? Maybe something's incompatible...

Yeah, came with beats. That was the other thing I thought might be conflicting.
I'll try adding it to a stock rom this evening.

Im using xboarders GB/CM ROM at the moment and its working flawlessly...but I always liked the dialer and keyboard (touch) of the stock Froyo. Is there an apk or something that i can add to it to change those two from the gingerbread style to the froyo style?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Aha you should ask XBoarder. Am sure you would have to change some things to make it properly work.

Either post this question is his thread or send him a pm. He's super cool about helping people out. I asked for dsp zip and 2 minutes later there it was. Same with honeycomb music player.

Thanks...btw whats the DSP manager anyways?
Its the shiz!!! Allows you to increase volume for bluetooth, phone speaker, and internal sound. Gives you effect options, graphic eg, and compression. I highly recommend it if you like to use your phone for music in car or on any sort of external speaker from headphones, aux connections, or bluetooth

How do you flash those? Is it the same way as flashing the rom or is there a different selection for add-ons?

Thanks, Spastic! I just flashed xboarder's 'stock'/cm rom, and couldn't get the phone speaker to work. I saw your pst and tired flashing dsp mgr--now it works! I love how helpful forum members are!
I'm not sure how to put it on my s3.. either extract it from a Rom that has it or is there a cmw flashable .zip floating around that I can't seem to find? Thanks guys

I couldn't seem to find the one that was in the sprint s3 forums but this one should work fine for you depending on witch ROM your using.

I've tried it on two boost phones before (marquee and galaxy prevail) and found that volume + didn't really do what I wanted it to do. Then I tried an equalizer app from Google play and it was great. But awesome beats is spot on. Not like the beats audio drivers that I used to try that made all my equalizers fc on me.it's got a great ui and makes a great sound

Um a little confused. Rght now I am running off an unlocked stock Jellybean rom. Which link would work for my phone?
Just buy GOOD headphones and you will not need beats... "skull candy"
I have SENSATIONS and its WICKED!!
Beats is just an equalizer, nothing more. These other guys are correct.
So I found this beats audio app for root users on the android market, installed it and it soft bricked my phone. Currently restoring with Odin because I couldn't get into recovery. Just an FYI I guess. Evidently this is a common problem with sgs3 users
I have it on my phone.

I've never used the app on the play store, but I've read multiple cases that say it bricks peoples phones. I've only used THIS and it works flawlessly on my GS3.
I use the same thing works great. I iv always loved dsp back in the CM7 days of my touch 4g. I'm on frosty ics and it works great

Using spint s3... dw last night the beats audio app.... it looks great but then the hidden apps start installing on my phone..so i uninstall it, NOW I heard MY SElf double using the phone.... Doing a factory restart as we speak...
I am not real familiar with beats audio, even though I have seen many ROMS that list it as included. Does it have any benefits to install a clean and working version of beats audio?
Sorry, not trying to hijack thread, but might as well ask if it has any upsides.
There are better audio improvement hacks and apps out there.
Look/search through the themes and apps section here and also in the Android Development Forum (the main one, not this one).
Ill post a link in a few from my computer.
I haven't used any of them, but im basing my statment on what many others have reported.

4 days ago i started using viper4audio, and for me the sound is more natural than awesome beats, you choose http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223

I had the exact same problem with the echo. Damn it was annoying too. I deleted it and reinstalleď the Rom and it went away so it def was the app. I am on T-Mobile s3 now and I won't dare download it again. Not sure if it's limited to Sprint s3 or not but I don't intend to find out
tmobile s3 running wicked. I still use a t9 text app so excuse the errors
There are many mods you can find on the forums that affects sound quality like the AC!D soundmod, viper, etc. I'd recommend you check those out before installing something off the playstore.
I've searched for this and also posted in the AC!D thread in the Themes & Apps forum to no avail.
I installed the universal version (5-1.1) on my S3 running AOCP and ktonsez kernel. It works great but I lose the ability to use Voice Search and speech to text in my messaging app. Any idea on what is causing the interference? I haven't found an app that will work with Pandora and bluetooth except for this and I really miss it! I was using the fixed version 2.0 when I was on Liquid Rom and everything worked fine, but it will not work on AOCP.
Does anyone have any suggestions of a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
On the acid thread in themes,it says that the download link is down because of changes being made for galaxy versions,so maybe hang on a bit ,there are probably fixes on the way?

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping it is fixed, there is nothing out there, that I have been able to find, that works like this.
I agree completely, once you have heard the acid bass you are forever spoiled, and can never do with out!
Have you tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34462311 its the 5.0 version, its the Samsung version not the universal one,I use it on my phone (touch wiz though).

I'll give that a go and see if it works. I want to say I tried it before and added Nooz, but didn't work.
Tried it again with Noox and no difference in sound. Voice search and speech-to-text didn't work either.
I installed CM 10 last night and the gapp pack compatible with 4.1. Everything looks good and current except I have no camera at all on my D700. The camera button does nothing, there is no camera app, and if I try to get to the camera through 'Movie Studio', the application fails. I searched the forum but it seems most people's camera app just crashes. Mine doesn't exist at all.
Redownload and reinstall and make sure you wipe.......try fixing permissions first though

Well, I did that and got the camera back. Now the WiFi won't connect.
During the initial boot up phase, it just gets stuck on 'turning wi-fi on'.

Thank you. I appreciate your help. I hope I don't push my luck but I am very new at this. Can you give me a little more information on what that means and where to find it? I searched nitestkernel and didn't find anything that seemed relevant. Do I need to wipe all data before flashing this or just go ahead and flash it on top of the CM10 and gapps that are already installed?

Awesome, thanks. I managed to fix my issues by doing that arduous factory reinstate, then back to CM Mod and the latest google apps. Both WiFi and Camera work now. I am going to go for the gold and install the latest kernel you sent me.
