Fisheye focusing problems - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hi there!
yesterday i bought this wide angle/macro and fisheye camera lenses for my Galaxy N7000. The problem is that i can't focus anything with them
I tried with my galaxy s2 and it works perfectly
I'll be really glad if you guys can help me with some info
Cheers:good:

:c

I have used the fisheye, wide angle and macro lens, the one with wide angle and macro screwing into one lens.
They focus pefrectly well on the note for me.

I also got a fisheye lens for a few bucks from ebay and at first couldn't focus. I figured out that the problem comes from the magnetic attachment that distorts the focusing mechanism. It helped for me to use two of those metal rings between the phone and the lens to make the magnetic force on the phone smaller. Do you understand what I mean? otherwise i can maybe take a pic...

OMG Thank you! I had the same problem. This helped a whole lot! Thank you very much!

After I saw this post I went to ebay and took a look, not expensive at all.
Just search on ebay for: Fisheye galaxy note.

i have the same problem
i have the same problem with my S2, and it seems that using two rings helps, but since they're both the same polarity, i can't align it.
weird thing this is only happening to few of us.
i'm not sure if it's the magnet, because i think the autofocus works with light, don't know what the magnet can do about that.
:silly:

Yep. I had the same problem on my Epic II 4G Touch. An extra ring solved my problem, too. Been using these cheap fisheye lenses for a long time now. They are addictive! Jelly lenses are very useful, too. Their wide-angle/fisheye lens makes the ring around the photo a bright green. Very cool.

10x optical zoom lens for Arc

As I'm about to order it, I wonder if SO has it, or have used it, because I have some questions about the quality - is it blurred or blackened around the corners of the pictures, is the zoom adjustable, or 10x fixed. If anyone has sample photos I'll be thankful - with and without.
I don't know if it's OK to post the link to the shop, so just pictures. You know it anyway...

I'm waiting for it to come. But the idea was that i could see if so used it. Not a single sample foto on the whole net...

I think this is a stupid accesory. Better to spend the money in a camera..........
Yeah. I can buy a phone for 20$, a laptop, dslr, video camera and a watch. Why do i need a smartphone with a stupid accessory, as i can have a trailer loaded with things tbat do almost the same...

I've bought one, I'll post some photos during the week =)
i bought one for my X1 a couple of years ago... it was garbage from day one. very impractical. the lens wiggled on the plastic phone case and so the build quality is just what you expect.
your $20 is better spent on a real point-&-shoot camera if you want the zoom capability.
any progress here? Just curious

DealExtreme usually get their hands on new products first. So if no one has bought it from DX, no one else have it.
here are pics using the lens [=
i got it after waiting 7 weeks for it to arrive from DX to usa.
its very nice probably more for outdoors which i havent tried yet but here are pictures with and without so you can see how it zooms in at 10x. the only downside is that you cant control the zoom its 10x fixed.
i zoomed in on the picture with the mushroom [=

[Q] Magnetic macro/fish-eye lenses... will they fit?

Update:
YES. They fit. See my follow-up post below for two example shots.
Original:
I love taking photos. Which is why I'm so glad we all get to carry cameras in our pockets these days.
I stumbled across these things: http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/cell-phone-lenses/
They're extra lens attachments for smartphones, and they go on via an adhesive magnetic ring that sits around the phone lens. I'd love to give them a whirl but... the bump.
I'm not sure they'd actually stay on because of the camera bump. So, does anyone have them? Does anyone know if they'll work?
Just sent the seller an E-Mail, I'll let you know once I've got a reply.
If anything the rubberband lens will fit, that is an awesome idea!

Yeah that thing is cool, it just doesn't seem like the results would be on par. Still, maybe as a back-up plan!
Actually, I've had insane results with a DVD burner lens and my old SE W910 ... I could see this working pretty well.
But if you're using the words "on par" you probably have some needs for quality, while I'm just mucking around with it so don't really care as long as it's functional and looks cool.
That's a pretty cool hack, GriffinSauce. Wouldn't mind seeing the results!
For the rest of you that were curious, I found a cheaper seller on eBay (about $20 AUD) and took the plunge.
I'm pleased to announce that they fit.
First shots below.
I'm a little concerned that the stick on magnetic ring that holds the lenses on will come off in my pocket, but it came with three extras. We'll see how it goes.
Just bought this on eBay. Can't wait to use it !

Cheapskate's DIY Macro Lens

-A cheap PnS camera, in this case I used a Kodak Star MD300 but I guess any camera is fine.
-A screwdriver.
-A scissor.
-3M foam tape.
-My N5 with Nilkin case on.
Disassemble the camera and take this little plastic gem out:
Put two stripes of 3M tape on the case, close to the lens:
And then just put the lens on top and push it gently to secure it:
Make sure the lens are aligned by get a blank image and look at it through the N5 camera, of course there will be darkened corners (vignetting) but make sure they are even:
And that's it, your are good to go.
Here are two samples:
Congrats for your project, the result is impressive!
i tried to do it with this camera http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/news/articles/story_5706.html but it didnt work.
I dont know if its not the right lens but all i could see from N5 was a blur picture.
Maybe it dont need to be a digital camera? Can you help?

What we did here is actually putting a close up lens on the N5 so you have to put the phone very close to the subject to get a sharp picture.

Taking level panoramic photos with camera

I've tried on various occasions to take some landscape panoramic photos and they always end up dipping in the middle. I know from the thread for photos by Pixel it can do very level panoramics but I can never get it to work. I line the dots up and stand still rotating my body to get the shots.
Is there a technique or am I missing something in the camera app I should set? Would appreciate any feedback that helps me improve the photos I take.

Care to share an example? Are you following the recommended way to take it by rotating your phone on the same axis and not your body? It's a little awkward but you can get some great results.

use a tri-pod. very rarely will they come out great when doing it by hand.
No tripod and came out fine. With practice and good technique it can happen more often than not.

I cannot upload a photo, keep getting a 500 error. Image the horizon as a line goes ------___------.
I do rotate my body, but from posts it looks like that may be the issue. Rotate the phone seems the advice. I'll have a go this weekend and see how it goes.
Thanks for the feedback people.
Working here, definitely rotate on phone axis, rotating around my body also causes imperfections

Thanks for the feedback, doing it properly (move hand, not body) has improved my panoramics and I'm getting consistently level horizons.
Next time I should read the "Tips" when displayed

My 1st question is if you have a lens glass protector installed on your rear camera. I'm supposed to think it is.

I do not. Just a case.
Same thing on my phone, image below was taken with 20x zoom (it was not snowing). Not as noticeable on 4x-8x, yet it still bugs me a little bit. No camera lenses & such installed, no case, no stickers

You're asking a lot at 20x to be honest, the phone is essentially making most of the photo up based on what it has to work with and anything that is there such as lens flare is going to be magnified.
