just ran by this while looking at desktop cradles and since i know alot of people here are constantly looking for extended batteries and back plates i figured i'd post this.
price 14.89 + free shipping
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3500mah-Ext...190536?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e6c12cdc8
with that said if you should choose to purchase this please leave feedback here for the rest of us in terms of quality and charge length.

u get what u paid for...thats all i gotta say, i had 3 battery one generic ebay, one mugen and one seido...the mugen and seido definitely live up to it name the generic is a PIECE OF ****...sometime u do run into a good one but after the 4th or 5th month it turn to ****.

that may be true but as i said people are constantly posting threads asking about high cap batteries and backplates that fit. I posted this for those people. i myself do just fine day to day with the standard battery.

they must own crappy ebay stuff then. i have no problem with any of my battery back plates

I can see people liking the big batteries if they already put their phone in a big fat case. For me I keep it out of the case and prefer to carry an Anker 2200mAh battery in my pocket. This gives me 4400mAh of walking around power and at home I always keep one on the charger. All this for $20.

Seidio extended battery... IT'S COMING!

I know many of us have been anxiously waiting to see for an extended battery option from Seidio (or other reputable 3rd party), but nobody has announced one for the Captivate until now. Finally:
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4411.htm
Unfortunately, no mention of price or when it will be released as it's currently "under development" but that they have added it to their store is exciting enough!
Yeah I just saw that too, and wow 3200mah is huge!
Do you think they will make a case for it? I have the body glove that was launched with the phone. I kind of like it. Has anyone purchased from these guys before? Any experiences to share. Did you buy a case? They made a huge battery for the EVO didn't they?
This means a battery about 2 times as thick as the current one, so expect a custom back with a bumpout for battery.
The Moto Droid 2800 extended battery is $69 so this one will be between $70 and $90 - I would rather have a spare battery or an external rechargeable charger for half the price. I would never make "The Captain" thicker. No pot bellies (or junk in the trunk) on my captain just a slim toned physique.
But Seido has always made a good product - usually they can take the current sized battery and squeeze a little more in - like an 1800mAh in the current size. I hope.
Has anyone actually tried to wrap their head around what this thing will look like?
Our fancy locking closure will either make this thing hideous or cause our phones to look like the back of an Incredible (which I don't mind personally, I liked the terraced back. It reminds me of the zen like nature of steppes carved into a mountain for hillside farming.)
Either way, I want one. I'm just actually trying to fathom the design, and what will happen to the sound quality being the speaker is built underneath the battery cover.
We'll see... I don't think it will be that bad, as the Evo battery only adds "5-6mm" to the phone and that is a 3500mAh battery. But given the option, I would prefer a battery in the range of 2200-2400mAh that only adds maybe 2-3mm. But beggars can't be choosers.
If they could crank out a 1800mAh "slim" battery that does not require a cover, that would be excellent as well. They have 1750mAh for the Incredible and Evo, so who knows.
I have one of their "big" 2600 mAh batteries for my old Bold 9000 and while it put hump in its back, it fit my hand great and having that extra power was fantastic. I'll get this when it comes out.
Im totally down for this hopefully they make the back tapered and not just a straight "step" up, I'm 6 foot 3 and consequently have large hands so I wouldnt even mind my phone being a lil bit thicker.

16 reviews for a company that has been selling accessories for many years (5 that i know of) is not much of a statistic.
I can tell you that, when I was a moderator for Qusers, many people bought from Seido and never had a problem. that doesn't mean there is no problem, but everyone I know that has bought from Seido was satisfied. Their products are regularly review by major blogs, and amazon shoppers give their cases 4.5/5.
I have shopped at hundreds of sites and never filled out a review for resellerratings - so I am not sure that they are the best source for any information.
From my knowledge of the company I would not hesitate to buy from them. if they put out a 2000mAh battery that is the same size as OEM, i will buy it in a second.
I would rather leave the internal battery in place and add a accessory cover with a priority battery slot. The internal battery might have to be replaced with one a mm or two shorter to allow room for the internal battery disconect. With an internal secondary and external primary, the phone could remain in operation during battery changes. Yes, this would add a hump, but I think the phone would fit my hand better...
mm.. I really rather have the same size format but a little more juice to it..1800mAh
how much more juice would that be compared to the standard 1500 :O

I have Seidio batteries for my Canon DSRL camera and it works just as good as the original one.
Anyone know of any extended life battery for this phone yet. This is insane this phone has been out a while there should be somethin. I saw the vibrant has a 3000mah, bout to get that and just stick it in without the back cover and throw a silicon case over to hold it in. Saw that amzer has a 1600 but thats almost not worth it.

So is that 508.5 hours of talk time?

Rebranded Seidio for sure. And the case you spoke about is probably the extended rugged case available on the seidio online store.
Best Buy must have some deal with Seidio. Their "Pt" brand is all Seidio product, it says it on the bottom of every package. I just think it is such a waste of money when you can buy the same thing on ebay for $10....only difference is the ebay battery has a door that actually looks good....that Seidio door is just fugly!!
The main advantage of buying it in the store is if it goes downhill you can exchange it easily. Also for me its worth it cuz i get these dirt cheap with discount but im passing this up and staying with my sprint battery.
The case i mentioned isnt a case, its a belt clip for a naked device that works for extended batteries cuz it only clips at top and bottom.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well if some one is worried about the ebay battery messing up, then just buy 2, or 3, heck or even 6 and spend the same as 1 from Best Buy or Seidio. I gaurantee you that out of those 6 you'll have 1 that works....more than likely all 6 will though. I have had my ebay battery for almost 3 months now and it works GREAT!!
StanglifeMike,
Let me ask you this....
1. Ebay batteries and memory cards are way full of fakes, clones, fake labeled products.
2. LIoN and LIpO both are extremely volatile and can/will burst into flames destroying everything around it.
Given 1 & 2, is that few extra $ you're saving worth that kind of risk?
Would you buy a known dangerous possible fake NOS tank for your Mustang when you know you're rolling the dice when you use it? I am sure you're not going to put Yugo parts in your 'stang.
Just some things you don't skimp on in life... Lithium class batteries would be pretty high on that category.
I get em for 31 bux so for me its worth it

lion and lipo batteries are coming along quite nicely and I have yet to see one "burst into flames destroying everything around it." I personally do not bleed into this fallacy as quite frankly, as long as they are cared for properly, they will give you the desired outcome.
I've used 11.1v 1200mAh 20C LiPo battery packs in airsoft guns that under go sustained/ constant drain for their entire use; and while they may heat up I still have NEVER seen one burst from use.
Now if you were to cross the connection by mistake... well then I've shorted out a LiPo cell before due to that... but it never exploded.
I've had a NiMH battery pack explode on me causing flames to emit from the battery, melting plastic and clothing near the battery until I threw it into a metal garbage can and a ton of snow on it.
I've had 1 let go personally wiping out one of my Heli's, and at the field I've seen 2 others go in a similar spectacular fashion.
I will admit it's not always the charge, sometimes it's impact or other damage.
You may not "buy into it" or you may call it a fallacy, but consider the millions of recalled laptop batteries that caused fires, cellphones that have burst into flame, etc.
It doesn't explode, it ruptures and bursts into flame. It's rather impressive.
Want to try it for yourself? Charge up a spare evo battery, take it outside and shoot it with a pellet gun/.22. Rupture the case and expose it and you'll get the same reaction. Lest you want to join the Darwin award recipients, I suggest you keep a safe distance away and don't breathe the smoke produced.
I'm not saying that I don't believe that LiPo batteries don't explode (or malfunction and ignite), I guess I had that worded to the extent where I say "it'll never happen because I've never seen it." I'm not saying that, i'm sorry.
What I am saying however, I the last time I've personally seen a recall on a cell phone or laptop battery due to defect causing injury, pain, illness, or discomfort while using has been a while. Technology is coming along nicely even with batteries, yet I think we'd all agree that we need battery technology to hurry and catch up to cellphone tech. so we can get more than a days good use from it.
And we all know that the knock off batteries and the like coming from overseas are something to be questioned........ but......... don't almost if not ALL of our batteries we use come from overseas?
Every time I buy a product I'm taking a gamble, not just when purchasing from eBay.
NM Didn't read.

Mugen Power 3900 mAh battery for t989!

I just checked mugen website and they will have this 3900mAh battery available on 1/20/12. It says battery lasts 2.11 times longer. I am guessing I can OC/performance governor with high brightness setting and use phone moderately/heavily and it will still last all day (maybe not). The case looks pretty decent too.
I emailed them how much thickness it would add and they said about 9mm so the phone will look twice as thicker.
What do you guys think? It's approximately $100 tho.. damn..
$100?!? Lol you can buy THREE OEM batteries and still have a few bucks left for coffee hahahaha...greedy bastards
+1.... I'd rather have my phone last 3x longer than 2.11x longer
Pricey
That sounds awfully pricey.. I recevied my extended life battery from Amazon the other day, it was $13 + shipping.
I can't post the link, but just search for T989 battery on Amazon and you'll find a ton for a whole lot cheaper.

Thanks for letting us know. What about heating issue.....does this battery heats up more than the original? How much time does this one take to charge up full.
It's essentially double the life of the original (1850mAh vs 3500), generally after a days use of mp3s all day and surfing at work, I would usually have had about 35% left with the original, now I'm sitting around 65% at the end of the day without a worry. Charging is quick, I haven't really noticed a huge difference between the extended and the original.
It is definitely heavier, and the phone is a bit thicker with the new battery and case, but I actually like the extra weight and find it makes it feel more solid when holding it.
Heat-wise, it is no difference.

For those who say that Mugenpower batteries are over priced, I beg to differ.
I originally purchased a Seidio 2800mah extended battery for my Nexus One and it's performance, even after proper conditioning, was inferior to the HTC stock battery. I then purchased a Mugenpower 3200mah extended battery which gave me a solid 72 hours of use between charges.
I now have the Mugenpower 3900mah extended battery for my GS2x and after the second full charge, the level is only down to 70% 24 hours after being disconnected from the charger.
All extended batteries are not created equal!

I like his ad: "Avoid the cheap Unbranded batteries!" It should add: "And buy the cheap supposedly branded ones instead."
Buy cheap, get cheap. You get what you pay for. If it seems to be too good to be true it usually is. And all other similar comments.
I'm sure it would hold you over in an emergency but no matter how you slice it, it's still a cheap Chinese knock-off battery.
As for feedback it's usually pretty meaningless because a few weeks later if it failed or gave poor service the "good" feedback for fast delivery has already been left. I had that happen to me on a cheap Nikon battery. It barely held a charge after a month and I already had left + feedback. The seller would take it back but to mail a $8 battery back to China was a waste of time and would cost almost $6. I ended up spending $40 on a real one which ended up costing me $48 because the cheap one had to be tossed out.
true, but these are ANDIDA batteries, reviews on XDA say not really as good as advertised, but all pretty much say better than oem
I think i will give these a try, like i said, im happy if it performs like a 1750mAH, and they are not 2-3$ ones, still 15$
if it's a third party brand battery, i'll go for goki and momax, i have always trusted them, and they dont make batteries with high battery capacity like 3000mAh with the size of a standard battery, it's not always possible, instead , their battery do last long and is rather good quality.
in ebay search for momax i9250, there are plenty, the power are 1650mAh.
if you want comments on them, here is a link on the momax i9000 extended battery, forget the comment on the case, and read comment on the batteries.

5400mAhr battery review - GNote

I've seen a few posts about spare / replacement batteries for the Galaxy Note. This one is about the Mugen Power 5400mAh Extended Battery (HLI-N7000XL) specifically designed for the Note (N7000 / International model). This is an internal battery, not a plug-in external unit.
To be clear, I'm not a professional reviewer and have no vested interests in Mugen. This is not a scientific review but based on my actual experience. For a more controlled scientific analysis of battery discharge time bv the minute, or whatever, you'll need to look elsewhere. However I believe it's real life experiences which really matter.
I tend to pick up first impressions of a product based on the visual quality of the packaging, case finish, instructions, etc. The Mugen product did not disappoint at this stage. It was simply packaged but effective in protecting the contents and easy to get into. The instructions where easy to read and make it clear that it's necessary to fully charge and discharge the battery for 3 or 4 times before it carries a full charge. This took well over week to achieve due to the long life of the battery between charges!
The Mugen battery is, as you might expect, physically larger and heavier than the stock Samsung Galaxy Note battery. But the increased size offers in excess of a doubling in capacity so with normal use needs much less frequent recharging. Indeed the main points of my comparison are size/weight, longevity, and price/value.
Physical Size and Weight
The thickness of Mugen 5400mAh battery at around 13mm is a fraction over twice that of the standard 2500mAh Samsung Note battery. This means the stock rear cover has to be replaced by a deeper one to accommodate the larger battery. The Mugen battery comes complete with the larger cover, which also incorporates a neat flip-out side stand. This turned out to be a handy addition and one I increasingly found myself using. The replacement case felt to be of at least as good quality as the original and fitted perfectly. The overall thickness of the Note roughly doubled so the overall effect isn't as sexy as the thin original, but in practise I found the Note was easier to hold, particularly when out and about. The Mugen case was also slightly pimpled, similar to the original, which gave a feeling of confidence that it wasn't going to slip out of my hand.
On to the battery itself. The weight of the stock Samsung Note and battery is around 180 grams. The Mugen 5400 and Note weighed in at around 240 grams. This represents an overall 25% increase in weight. In practise the heavier battery slightly changed the weight balance of the Note but after picking up and using the Note a few times I hardly noticed it. It did feel heavier when in my pocket but not uncomfortably so. I also found I could no longer slide the Note into some of my smaller pockets. To quote a great Yorkshire friend of mine: "You get owt for nowt", which in this case basically means if you want a larger capacity battery it'll take up more space and weigh a bit more! (This is almost true because Mugen do also market a slightly larger capacity standard sized battery at the original size.)
Longevity
First, just in case you don't know what mAh means: It stands for milli-Amp hour and basically it's a measure of battery electrical capacity or storage 'size'. Everything else being equal, the bigger the number the longer the electrical power should last. The issue is that for many non manufacturer supplied batteries everything else is not equal. The inequalities range from mislabelling/over ambitious claims (I call it lying), to poor battery design such that it overheats or leaks or just fails sooner than it should (some might call them cr*p batteries). Of course such inferior batteries are usually cheaper to buy!
I tested the stock Samsung Galaxy Note 2500mAh battery with WiFi and GPS permanently enabled and sync set to 30 minutes. I used the Note frequently throughout the day for 2G (voice and text), WiFi and 3G surfing, Facebook, Twitter, newsfeeds, email, diary and the occasional game. The battery was charged overnight using the USB from my Desktop, and so started the day at 100%. By 15:00 it was down to 30%. By 19:00 it was down to 10%.
I then did the same using the Mugen 5400mAh battery. By 15:00 on Day 1 the charge remaining was down to 70%. It reached 40% at 12:00 on Day 2 and 13% by 19:00 on day 2. Wow! This was over a doubling in elapsed time over the standard battery.
Real life experience:
The above test reflects much heavier use than I'd normally make of the Note during a typical weekday, where I'd see the stock battery at around 20% at 23:00 each day. At weekends I usually have to top-up the charge during late afternoon or risk running out.
Using the Note as I would more normally, but with the Mugen 5400mAh battery, I found that I used GPS more (I do a lot of walking and track my route) without worrying about running out of power. I was not having to think about saving power for later use as I knew there was plenty available. I also didn't have to top-up charge during the day at all. The Mugen battery comfortably lasted two days and sometimes three before reaching the 10% to 20% mark.
Price and Value
The RRP for the stock Samsung 2500mAh battery is around £20. This equates to 0.8 pence per mAh.
The RRP for the Mugen 5400mAh battery is £63 ($99) at time of writing. This equates to 1.16 pence per mAh. This price includes the replacement back cover.
So £ per mAh of capacity the Mugen is not a cheaper option, but it's all about usability. For instance you could always buy a second stock battery and manage the charging of two batteries at once, which means you'd also need to invest in a desktop charger at around £15, and be powering off the Note mid afternoon each day to swap out the flat battery. I'd soon get fed up with doing that!
For me and the way I use the Note this is a JDI. Just Do It (buy the 5400mAh Mugen). The few cons are far outweighed by the pros, and on the occasions when I want to show off the Note or make it a little more inconspicuous I can simply pop back in the stock battery and cover. But when I do I'd soon go back to using the 5400!
Details of the Mugen 5400mAh battery can be found on their site at mugen-power-batteries .com
I'll continue to use the battery and come back at some point with my experience of how well it stands up after prolonged use.
I'd love to see some real world pictures of it on your phone if possible. I'd be interested in this for when traveling.
I caved.
Used discount code MUGENRULEZ for 7% off.
On backorder, but I don't need it right away anyways. Will carry it as my backup.
Good review mate Mugen Power is Awesome
post some battery usage pictures
Nicely done. Mine works pretty well, but I miss having a case to occlude the vol/power buttons, otherwise I'll accidentally press things whilst gaming. Apparently there's a couple of generic extended battery cases on ebay, so I'll give them a punt.
I have also bought the same battery, and another thing to take into equation is the excellent customer service of mugen. Fast and efficient

I've found these photos of the Mugan back cover for the 5400mAhr mounted on a Note.
Awesome. Thanks for the review. I went on their website to buy one and figured they have a competition running to win the same battery:

Hopefully I will win and won't have to buy one.

There have been quite a few discussions about how the "official Samsung" eBay batteries are just fakes that are made to look convincingly like Samsung OEM batteries, but aren't.
I always enjoy melting a £400 appliance with a £4 aftermarket battery. I could compare it to using a cheap 350W PSU in a top of the range gaming PC, you're going to see some smoke at some point.
Awesome review! Video Review Upcoming!

I do REAL WORLD reviews on YouTube where I cover every day practical use of devices, cases, and accessories. Yup, I actually tell you what it is like to use a device or accessory instead of just telling you the specs like many reviewers (cough) lol.

Hi angelofmusic, first of all let me ask you what your address is so that I can give it to my employer, and he can send you the bill, as I have just killed 32min of my working time by watching your review......hehe
Now on a more serious note, I have no prejudice against women, but I was surprised when I click on the link that you have provided and find out you look like a 15 year old girl, which will look great in her 40s
I just hope that you would be living in the UK or even better in Belgium, so that the USA related part would not be as irrelevant to me.
All in all, great review. I find it strange that you did not come up when I was searching for reviews of this device. I thought I was them all, but apparently the day that my G.NOTE arrived from Amazon I saw your video. Well better late than never, and I can't hide that I was very pleased when you said that Amazon was a good choice for buying this device.
Well I better go back to work

LOL I am 23. =) I'm more than legal hahahaha. I just have very young genes I guess...It probably throws a lot of people off. But as soon as I speak it is uncanny and you can tell that I must be older than 15! I love it. It's entertaining for me.

Hi angelofmusic, you did not get my joke . In the beginning of the review you talk about your age, and you say that you might look young now but that means that you're going to look great when you'll be in your 40's. I knew that you were 23, as you have said it on youtube. The fact that I said that you look young, was a compliment (maybe not yet, but in 4 to 5 years you'll be jumping of joy inside when someone tells you that you look like a teenager)
As for the review, I liked your stile. I just got my Note today, and I am still trying to figure out what to do with it. The battery is at 46% after the initial setup of my gmail accounts and installation of some important applications like whatsapp
The important questions I have atm is, should I charge or should I wait. Here in Belgium its almost 2:40 so I might just charge it and go to bed. But too difficult to sleep when I just got to unpack my new toy and the neighbour is having a very loud party. Might just be faith telling me to stay up all night and play with my new device.
I will maybe look at the insurance that you got for your device. I have never insured a device before, but with an almost 2 year old running around the house I fear that not even my Otterbox commuter and careful placement of the phone will be enough.
