Not force closing where you get an error message. I mean when you search via text input or speech it just displays results for a second then closes and goes to the home screen.
I've cleared data but to no avail. Anyone have this and if so have you fixed it.
P.s. I know its not the final build and a dev preview I get that. It didn't happen before but it does now so am asking.

EDIT: Fixed by not allowing Google now to search through the chrome app. It seams that that function is not working correctly at the time of writing.

Hi, sorry if this had been answered else where - I assure you I have search through the forum and have yet to find any info on resolving the issue...
I'd noticed this issue since the upgrade to Froyo on HTC Desire. As I only use the Youtube app from time to time, so not sure if it is caused by the Froyo upgrade or something else.
It all started with the Youtube Widget on my home screen throwing up error "The application YouTube (process com.google.android.youtube) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." after that, I can't even get back into the main YouTube app (same error message) - though I can still see vid clips if a webpage launched a vid from a browser and start playing the vid directly.
The problem would go away if I go into manage app to clear all app data/cache, but would start again if I log into my account in YouTube app.
Anybody experience anything similar..? Better yet, know how to fix it? Really trying to avoid doing a hard reset.
Thanks in advance
D
Since I can't drop post yet in Dev yet I'll have to post here
On Jandycane 1.3 and for the most part things are extremely smooth, light years ahead of the ICS builds.
The two issues I see are Google Search force closes if I try to enable Google Now. Going into apps and killing Google Search and then clearing it's data reset back to it's initial state and I can then choose not to enable Google Now and the messages go away.
On the latest build I get a force close when I go into Chrome Settings, not sure if anyone else is seeing this or if it worked in previous versions.

Agreed. I am also getting a force close from the Chrome setting but I had the same issue on the 1.2 build as well. As for Google Now, I have cleared the defaults and all data for the search app which does temporarily fix the force closing problem, but when I reboot the first thing to pop up is a Google Search force close.
After clearing data, run Google again and this time select 'No,maybe later' instead of 'Yes,I'm in'.

Anyone having issues with Quick Command Not Working?? I've cleared cache & cleared data. I've even tried the demo model @ At&t & it works there. I'm able to open it but no matter what I write it doesn’t do anything.. It'll even force close if I start pressing on the buttons a few times. I'm thinking my phone may be defective & I'm thinking of returning it & getting a new one. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks.

Yeah I'm having a similar issue. I can pull up Quick Command but when I try to add a new command, and select applications for the list of apps to pop up, QC crashes after scrolling down to messages or maps. Meaning I am not selecting messages or maps but I can only scroll down to the apps that begin with M before QC freezes and force closes. I've tried scrolling quickly and very slowly, but still QC crashes and I cannot scroll through my entire list of apps. I have been able to add commmands for apps that I can access before it crashes like Dolphin, Calendar. I am running stock and root but no roms.
**** UPDATE ****
Well, after applying the new multiwindow update, I now am unable to create a new Quick Command for an application. When I select the application option, Quick Command just hangs, the screen goes black, and I get an error that quick command has stopped working and it force closes. I can still access it and the preinstalled/created quick commands, but I just can't create a new one for an application. I tried wiping my cache and cleared data for it but still does not work.
So nobody else has had this issue? I did a google search and found some info and fixes tied to the contacts or language input but neither worked for me.
AT&T S3 rooted but stock ROM. Ever since I loaded Dolphin a few months ago, sometimes Dolphin starts failing to load a page when you click on a Google search result. I'm guessing it may not be specific to Google but simply specific to any link to a site that does a subsequent redirect (since search result links go to Google then redirect.) If I recall a restart clears things up. But once it starts doing it, the only way I can get a result link to not bring up a blank page is to open it in a new tab.
Anyone experienced this or have any ideas as to a solution?
Have you tried another browser to be sure it's not dolphin having issues?

Ya try the same lunks in stock browser or chrome or what ever u choose. If they work there clear the app cha he for dolphin. Maybe uninstall and reinstall as well

It has something to do with cache, history, etc. As when I clear everything it works again but then does it again. This is with only 2 or 3 tabs open. It only happens with Google results links (iow, happens with redirect links.) I tried re-install. It only happens with Dolphin. Don't get this issue with Dolphin on my Nexus 7, only my Galaxy S3. Seen at least one other person have this issue but it seems somewhat rare.
I noticed I have it set to cache to SD card. Turned that off. Will see if it makes a difference.
Hello everyone!
I'm running Hyperdrive on my S3, and I'm struggling with Google Search and getting it to work properly. I haven't had this issue before on the S3 or my Note, so I'm a little lost. It came pre-installed with this app. It would open, run through the Google Now setup, and then when it went to the part where it listens to what you're saying, the screen would freeze and it would force close (eventually). I removed it and reinstalled it from the market.. Same thing. I have tried different APK files I found and nothing is working.
I have also noticed that when the app is installed, I have two different search applications, so I think it's running a duplicate app somewhere, but I can't find it.. I have "Google" which takes me to the search thing, and then I have "Voice Search" which takes me there as well, both force close if I open them.
Any ideas? Where are all the files for these located? I thought I completely removed it, but maybe I missed something and it's causing issues.
Thanks for the help!

Sounds like your google voice is messed up somehow, If you manually type something into google now, does it work? I would say to try and clear cache and data for google search and framework in settings>apps>under all tab. Reboot phone, if this doesn't work, try a full wipe-ROM reflash. For future reference this should have been posted in Q&A.
