I installed the ROM a few weeks ago and it works great. Just realized this option is on my phone :3 However I notice it doesn't work. I have the default 6 lockscreens that come with the rom, and although the music controls show on some of the lockscreens, (play, pause, forward, rewind) they do not do anything, even if I have music playing and then lock screen to access the controls. If I tap on the buttons I get the sound effect from touching them, just no control. Something I'm doing wrong? Something that can be fixed?
PS: I love using the puzzle lock, but it is one of the locks that do not show the music controls. Anyway to make it do so?
PSS: Sorry If this has been posted before, I looked and did not find anything ><

The lock screen issues have been discussed before in this thread. No fix for them right now.

Ha ha, oops. I referenced "this thread" and forgot to add the url.
Was referring to the SRF 1.2 support thread.
I've had my Galaxy Nexus for a week and a half now and at first I thought the new feature of music controls appearing on the lockscreen was being a bit buggy as sometimes I would not see them on the lockscreen while I was actively playing music on the phone. After paying closer attention to it though, it looks like what's actually happening is that the music controls just flat out don't show up on the lockscreen unless the Google Music app is open and showing on the phone's screen.
In other words, if you start playing music via the widget on one of your home screens by pressing the "play" button and thus do NOT fully open the Google Music app and bring it up on the screen, the lockscreen controls won't appear.
Does this ring true for you other Galaxy Nexus owners? If so, I have to say that I am *extremely* annoyed by this behavior with the lockscreen controls. I do not want to have to actually open the music app, bring it up to the screen and then select "play" just to have the lockscreen show the music controls. Having to go through that defeats a big chunk of the reason and benefit of having a widget for the music app! I just want to be able to hit "play" on the widget and go from there.
Anyone else able to verify this is how things also work on their own GNexus?
Thanks for sharing your info on this!
I don't have this issue with the Music app. As long as its playing, background or not, it will show up with controls on the lockscreen.
I am running a custom rom however I don't think that portion of the rom has been edited.

Hmm...okay, thanks for the feedback! Interesting to know because my stock Galaxy Nexus def has this problem on a regular basis.
Anyone running a stock GNexus care to comment?
I'm running a stock Galaxy Nexus and had the same issue. I eventually found that the "headset button controller" app (a third-party one) was disabling the lockscreen controls...
Had the problem on both stock ROM and bugless beast. Just switched to aokp 25 today hoping it will go away..
I also dont experience this when i have GoogleMusic installed instead of AOSP Music (which does not have lockscreen controls, if i recall it right).
currently running:
self-built aosp kang (aosp/master)
tweaked stock kernel 3.0.8
I'm the OP for this thread and just thought I'd comment since it's been "brought back from the dead" with some new posts.
Back in December when I was asking about this issue I actually managed to have a conversation about this issue with someone from Google who is part of the Google Music team and it turns out this issue was a bug they had missed. They said they would fix it in an update to Google Music and sure enough, about 2-3 weeks later they pushed out an update that fixed it.
I never ran into this issue again after that update, so just wanted to share the info.
Got my lockscreen music controls back!

I have been wondering for months why my lockscreen music controls were gone and uninstalling "Jays Headset Controls" brought them back! Thank you!
I just got my first 4.2 ROM. It's XenonHD and my music controls are no longer there.. Otherwise I like the ROM.. Argh..
Just and update, the music controls Are back, I don't to it was xenonhd that was causing it. I restarted and now it works so I dunno

I don't understand why the stock music widget only has a skip forward button. Can somebody make music widget where it I can get to the previous track, with some transparency (35% ish), and album art?
Wish I was a dev haha. Thanks in advance.

Very nice.. wish that sort of widget was stock. $2 to get it to work with google music kinda sucks but I'm I'll download it anyway and give it a shot. Thanks for the heads up.
The ability to have separate volumes for ringtones and notifications. I can't stand how google left this feature out of ICS, when it was in all previous versions of android (1.5+).
I've been using CMx since the days of the Hero, so it was a no-brainer for me to look straight to their work once I rooted my Galaxy Nexus.
Almost every ROM has this built in, just FYI. And although CM9 WILL be something great as of right now most ROMs have more features and stability than what is currently out from the CM team.
Yes. Most roms have this capability. Some even allow you to have a "settings" button when you do volume up/down, and once clicked, it gives you options to change in-call, speaker, notification, and alarm volumes, all from the single volume up/down button!

Well it's standard in AOKP (actually released in build 28: "Added extra volume slider options (Stevepear426, tmoskowite on gummy)") and I'm using Axi0m Patient Zero... basically anything built from the newer AOKP builds will have this feature.

I'm using AOKP build 30 and I haven't seen that feature...maybe I'm just blind.
EDIT: NVM just found it
Hi!
My name is Takin, and I live in Norway.
I'm new to this stuff and just got my kindle yesterday. Went straight home and rooted it and loaded CM9 on it and then upgrading to CM10.
The fact that the Kindle does not have physical volume controls haven't really bothered me before now. For every stroke on the on-screen keyboard, I hear a clicking sound (really loud if headphones are plugged in). The option is in fact unchecked in the settings menu.
Another thing - is there no other way to moderate the volume than doing this trough the whole process of entering the system-menu?
My last question: regarding this problem. Should I wipe the device and stay on CM9 ?
Anyone?:..
Install an app that will give you a widget. I use "Volume" from the store.

Keyboard sounds are separate from other sounds and volumes. Under "Languages & Input" in settings, you can access the keyboard settings and disable key clicks.

Apart from AOSP, I think all CM10 based ROMS either have a volume controller in the notification menu, or have a setting to enable it.
Hope that helps.

What CM10 ROM are you running?
And just like soupmagnet said, go to the settings, and under Personal, there is a Language and input option. Choose that, and then tap on the little slider icon next to the Android keyboard. There you can turn off Sound on keypress.
If you have your tablet in a tablet UI, there should be a sound bar in your notification popup menu.
If you are looking for a developed CM10, then I would choose twa-priv's ROM with SGT7 and other fun stuff. If you are looking for a pure Vanilla experience, I would choose something like Hashcode's.
I have had no issues whatsoever with sounds and control of them with twa-priv's ROM with SGT7. I tried another CM10 ROM but went back to twa-priv's because it was more developed.
I found out how to turn off touch sounds, but can't find keyboard clicks. This is running Hash's JB build. Think it was 9/28

Select the settings icon for your keyboard and deselect "sound on keypress".
Thanks found it. Didn't realize there was an extra settings button there.
