Hello everyone.
I was just looking at some keyboards and noticed some neat stuff.
Anyways, here's what I've got so far.
The keyboards below are the ICS AOSP keyboard, only themed. Everything's a flashable CWM zip so just flash and enjoy.
Version 1

These are NOT flashables (if someone wishes to make them flashable, I will include in OP and give credit.)
Anyways, here's what I've got so far.
Swype BETA themed (Themed to nearly 100% Sprint 2010 Swype beta theme.)
Download Themed Swype beta apk.
Screenshots...
Flashing instructions...
1. Download Swype Beta Installer from Beta.Swype.com.
2. Install Swype Beta on your phone.
3. Download the themed Swype Beta from the link above.
4. Place on SD card.
5. Push the themed Swype beta to /data/app (using any type of root explorer) of the phone's internal storage and set permissions to RW-R-R.
6. Reboot and you're good to go.
Android ICS Themed keyboard. (For those that dislike Swype.)
Download Android Themed ICS Keyboard apk here.
Download CWM Flashable zip here - Thanks PhantomHacker!
Screenshots...
Flashing Instructions...
1. Download the apk from the link above.
2. Place on SD card.
3. Push to /System/App (using any type of root explorer).
4. Set Permissions to RW-R-R.
5. Reboot and you're good to go.
Any problems? I'll help you troubleshoot. I'm not familiar with the GS3 yet as far as the updater script goes so if anyone can help me make these flashable, that'd be awesome.

I got a flashable for second keyboard. The Swype Beta is complex because it requires you to have the installer running for the swype portion to work. No matter what, you'll be required to install the installer and log in, but if you can make it so the keyboard is placed in /data/app, then that would help.
P.S. I can easily change the buttons to blue, I just need help editing .so files because that's where the line is orange.
Nice work Overstew!! Good to see you here.

I tried to install on a LG Optimus One, and unfortunately did not work (FC when trying to open the application).

there you go, its not much different then the ics blue. i gave it a 3d effect:good:
if you have trouble installing this make sure all other swype boards are deleted and this should install like any other apk.
I tried the theme swype method you posted but now it doesn't come up on my input options

I was just looking for a dark and good looking JB Keyboard,
but I couldn't find a simple dark keyboard as I had found for my ICS.
So I just copied the conted of the drawable-xhdpi folder from my
ICS-Dark-Keyboard to the drawable-xhdpi folder of the JB-Stock-Keyboard and the AOSP/AOKP Stock Keyboard.
So the theming-credit goes to someone else I don't know by name, but I realy love this stock looking dark keyboard.
My contribution is only the idea to put it into a 4.2 Keyboard APK and make the flashable ZIP
hope you like it, have fun guys!
in some cases it can cause Keyboard FCs so Backup before!
if you've played with your DPI it could happen that you will not see any changes because this Keyboard is JUST for XHDPI (320DPI)
Check your Keyboard APK Name and ROM-Type before you download and flash!
Download flashable ZIP
(pick your fitting version from my Google Drive )
Do it yourself way for every ROM and everyone who can use a ZIP Tool:
Code:
- Download res.zip from my Googledrive
- extract your ROMs Keyboard file (LatinIME.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, no matter wich one you have) using a Root Explorer
- copy your keyboard file to a PC
- open your Keyboard file with 7-zip (open Source)
- go to res/drawable-xhdpi and drag&drop all the files from the res.zip's drawable-xhdpi folder you've downloaded
- put back the changed keyboard APK to your phone, copy it to system/app and don't forget to change the permissions to what it was before
Thats all, no magic required!
Where to download? Is it a zip or apk? When I click on apk it does nothing

Here is a VRTheme flasher with the integrated png's. You can flash it over any ROM. It doesn't overwrite the LatinIME.apk - just the resources in the app.
It works for LatinIME.apk and for LatinImeGoogle.apk.

Brainmaster! I love your Lucid version of Rasbeanjelly. But after flashing, the keyboard in your rom doesn't quite match the pictures (the text on buttons is blue?). I actually came to this thread trying to get a dark keyboard to match the rest of your ROM. But this VRTheme flasher didn't actually work on darkbeanjelly.

I flashed infamous cache wipe then keyboard and reboot
Then went to settings > language and input and chose samsung keyboard as mt default
P.S I really dislike Samsung's auto-correct feature because it doesn't automatically chose the correct word....unless I'm missing something in the settings...but I really like the look of it.

NOTICE
Hi everybody,
Rayford85 hasn't got a One anymore, so it is nearly impossible for him to maintain this theme.
Since I couldn't imagine my own One without this theme, he granted me permission to take over and take care of future updates.
I don't have a theming background, so I will rely on the work already done by him and the others and hope I can bring you the same quality stuff as they did.
Big thanks for Rayford85 and the others for their awesome work on this theme. I'll probably contact you for help in the near future when updating this baby to a new base
Grtz,
RadiatorRXD

Rayford told me a few days back he would create a new thread for this version. No idea why though.

It's to hard to keep up with who is using viper, renovate, trickdroid. I get confused & spend time fixing stuff on the wrong version, so I started a new thread for Viper & dropped support for the other roms. since I'm not the op in the other thread & couldnt close it so I started a new one
Hey guys, first thank you for this update, really love this theme :good:
Just one question, did you managed to find where is the white background still present when switching between pages in phone app or venom tweaks for example; I Closely checked framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk with no luck..

No, I gave up searching for that. I have no idea where it's at.
Thanks for updating darkone! I see that there is an aroma installer now, are there options to have the normal stock keyboard and dialer? I would love to invert everything, but really like the flat look of the stock keyboard and dialer. Or would I be able to flash the theme and then flash the stock keyboard zip over the theme? Thanks would definitely like to check this out

Nope.
But if you want the stock key and dialer, you can push from adb the apk of this and all will work fine

Thanks for the reply, my adb knowledge is somewhat limited, is there a simple command walkthru for this, or maybe a possibility for a future update with aroma options for the stock keyboard/dialer. I don't wanna mess anything up. Thanks

It's easy!
So:
Extract from the rom.zip this file: HTC_IME.apk and HtcDialer.apk from system/app.
Now, put this apk into your adb/fastboot folder and open a prompt here.
Now you will have to give this command:
Code:
adb push HTC_IME.apk /system/app/
and after
Code:
adb push HtcDialer.apk /system/app/
at the end:
Code:
adb reboot
Now, you have your stock key and dialer.
Awesome thanks man!
Edit: worked perfectly, even kept the blue phone icon. Thanks a million

Hey guys anybody knows the name from this popup and where I can find this?

I'm sure I had this on an old version of DarkOne but can't seem to get it to work on this version. How do I get the following transparent :
The first one is the pull down, the second is the app drawer.

hello to everyone!
I want to share my last softkeys
These are in a unique WHITE version (however various custom rom may change colors),
but as you can see, I added the shadow, so they are suitable for both light and dark backgrounds!
Manual installation:
When I want to change icons or buttons, usually I "fetch" and override its png from custom rom that I'm using...
.... overwriting the original systemUI using RootExplorer or similar directly on my Nexus
my "TRIBAL KEYS"
Morph theme (for all 4.4 roms)
Morph theme (for all JB roms)
I hope you like...
These look great man. Why not make them into a Zipthemer zip?

I think everyone in this forum knows how to do ...
each with its own knowledge ... ...
I always proceed in this way:
- Fetch the file \system\app\SystemUI.apk from my mobile phone
- I open it with 7zip from the PC, and I position it on \res\drawable-xhdpi
- drag new png icons on 7zip opened folder , confirming the changes
- close 7zip
- I copy the updated SystemUI.res on mobile phone
- Overwrite it on the original (on \system\app\) using RootExplorer (or equivalent) with relevant permits.

For what it's worth, you don't need a pc to do this if you use zip themer. Use a file explorer to extract the apk find the image, make a new one, use an existing mod and replace the images, rezip mod and use zipthemer. I have a thread with instructions on doing this.

I have read various threads on this, but personally I prefer my method.
It seems to me more direct.....

There's no right way. If it works it works. I didn't mean to dispute your method, rather to inform people that there are various options. I sometimes build mods when I'm away from home. So I like the flexibility. It avoids the need to transfer things back and forth. Though I do more detailed image editing on a pc.

Ty for sharing op. Looks awesome
updated amount of keys in first page!
I really like the softkeys! But I can't flash them with zip themer (because it doesn't find SystemUI.apk), neither can I manually add them to the apk, I mean, I can, but as soon as replace the original SystemUI.apk with the one I modified, I get a bunch of FCs and lose the notification bar and softkeys. I have to reboot and restore a Nandroid.
Is it because I'm in Kitkat? SystemUI.apk changed its location, it's now under /system/priv-app/, so I guess that's why zip themer can't find it. I tried doing it manually twice. So sad, haha.

do you update edify in zip themer with your kitkat rom? I don't know is just a suggestion.

Hi! Yes, I did. And it updates without an issue. It's just when trying to build the theme that it shows the message "Some items will be skipped due to missing system files... /system/app/SystemUI.apk".
Because of the message I noticed SystemUI.apk is no longer in /system/apps but in /system/priv-app.
Thanks for your answer.
