[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 Official Release - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have any news on the official release of Cyanogenmod 9 for us?
I know that drk.hd has his unofficial release available, but I haven't heard anything about a release candidate for dinc yet.

Because there isn't one. No one has submitted code up through Gerrit for review, so nothing has been reviewed and possibly merged.

There was news some time ago that Abhisek Devkota has a device and probably working on it. Need to wait a bit more. Device is not on the market yet, well it is starting to be sold so we need to wait. Although I think that even though specs are not super this phone will be very interesting option if equipped with CM11.

Are there any information if they are going to realease it? Samsung does also push their sources just a while after the realeas of a phone.

Are the companies who use the AOSP as 'base' for their ROMs committed to realease the sources?

We could write an Email.. Maybe they will tell us when they are going to release it. I don't know the release date of the the Nokia Xs, but I think they are going to push the sources a few days after the phone got released. Samsung and all the other companies are doing it the same way. Before I bought a N5, I have had an Ace II and we never got a full source code. Functions like OMX were very hard to get working without these sources. So we can just hope that they are dev-friendly and release a complete kernel source.

I would advise neither, coming from a device that uses a similar SoC. you don't have full hardware acceleration on newer android versions, and the gpu is really not all that good..
I would advise staying clear of the Nokia X

Yes, it is true, on my huawei y300 (same cpu and gpu) on kitkat there is not full HWA, ui is laggy and play games is very bad, this because qualcomm does not release adreno 200 drivers for android 4.3-4.4... hope that the cm team can do something

err, it's because we don't support 4 layer composition. nothing to do with the adreno blobs
Kitkat not possible on Nokia X then?

Cm news
"During our trip to MWC at the end of February we were able to secure an X from the Nokia team. There has been a substantial interest in this device from the community. While we won’t commit to releasing a proper ‘release’ (the hardware is more than a bit lacking) we have sent our X to dhacker29 to get up a source tree for the community. Just because CM won’t release a build doesn’t mean we can’t help other ROMs in the process. Nokia, to their credit, has already provided kernel source upon request and the bootloader is unlocked on this device – plenty of fun for the community to be had"
dhacker 29 is a very good developer hy is mantling the official cm for moto g

Likely timeline on Cyanogenmod?

I'm new to Xiaomi & MIUI, so apologies if this is a stupid question! I've installed the Xiaomi.eu ROM on my new Mi5s, and I'm pretty happy with it, but there are a few bits and pieces that I'd just prefer to be native.
Looking at the timelines from the Mi5, it seems like there was an unofficial CM version within about 2 months of release, an then an official one in September when the kernel source was released. I'm trying to work out how the unofficial one was built without the source, and how long that might take for the 5s (especially given that the hardware is fairly similar to the 5) - I assume it's anyone's guess as to when we'll get the kernel sources?
hopefully not to long. I would prefer a new decent rom on the Phone

[ARTICLE] Aquaris Dev - Device Status [02/03/18]

News!
Device Status – June, 2018
Hello all and welcome to the June aquaris-dev team update of 2018,
Another 2 months has passed, with not too much excitement publicly (apart from that April Fools drama) - big news this month arrives. We missed a May update, but we were hard at work regardless. We won’t cover the stats this time, but you can see the stats of how popular our BQ devices are by checking on the LineageOS stats site.
Our BQ device news now
This month, we only really have news about the BQ Aquaris X/X Pro (bardock/bardockpro) device (it’s our first 64bit device) as we haven’t had a whole bunch of time to work on our projects.
We want to share our appreciation to BQ as they released the Aquaris X/X-Pro Oreo kernel source code before the shipping public OTA (as the their final BETA build was the same as the shipping GMS build) which is a great step for any OEM.
We’ll look into at supporting our older devices (msm8937 based as they MAY receive Oreo from BQ at some point) first with Android Oreo (Lineage 15.1) but as always, we are not promising support for these devices - if you have contributions to make, please get in contact to help speed up this project..
If the community is interested, we might do a blog post in the future explaining some of the challenges of porting LineageOS to devices so our readers can learn about why things take so long.
Aquaris X / Aquaris X Pro - Status (bardock/bardockpro)
We’ll work on getting final things tuned for a official LineageOS 15.1 release in the very near future. We don’t recommend using unofficial builds that are floating around on the internet for the device as we’ll be working on supporting official builds later .

Any news about the Lineage OS version for the BQ Aquaris X Pro? I'm trying to find a rom that looks similar to the stock one, and dotOS looks pretty strange to me, sorry for my english, take it easy
Same here, really would appreciate it! You guys rock

Android 11 on N7

The source code for 11 has been released. Any reason we won't see it on N7? Would be happy to test early attempts.

Are there estimates on when version 20.0 builds will be available? (gta4xlwifi for me)

I read through the announcement of LineageOS 20 on Dec 31, 2022, and decided I should give it a try on a Samsung Tab S6 Lite for the first time. I was going to try 19 but I just didn't get around to it so I figured I'd wait for 20 and was pleasantly surprised it came out early. But when I go to the "get the builds here" for that device, all builds, including 2 this year, are for 19. Why would anyone want nightly builds of 19? Is there any way to find out when the first 20 builds are available? Is there going to be an official one or only nightly builds every week?
Looking forward to shedding all the Samsung UI complexity I'm not the least bit interested in learning how to use.
Thanks in advance for any answers.
