I took the case off of my ion just now and the bottom piece partially opened and I was afraid to take it off any more. Has anyone taken it off?

There is a picture on phonearena of the bottom tab taken off so I think it is fine.

Not sure. It probably leads to access of the internals

I don't think it's supposed to be intentionally taken off like the top one but it's probably no big deal. Can anyone tell me if the circle Xperia logo on the back is set into their phone? I don't know exactly but I remember it not being this way when I first got the phone.

Yes the logo is set into the back of the phone.
Really:? Oh my gosh you chickens! I took mine off the second I got the phone. I usually don't read instructions and I assumed that's where the SIM was. All you need to do is stick a thumbnail in there and push up. There are 2 little clips that hold it in place.
Under I found a sticket with the IMEI and serial number on it. I pushed it right back in and no harm seems to have been done.
Then I did have to read the instructions to find where the SIM actually was.

Why bother taking your case off, or wearing out the battery cover clips, or move more the necessarily?
This has never failed me.
Yes. To be honest, though, I always thought that it was power+volume up.

Holding it down for around 10 seconds will also do a soft reboot.
You can also open up your dialer and punch in *#350# to do a full reboot.
Thanks for the tip, as a new E4GT and Droid user all these tips and tricks are helpful!
you would think this would be a universal feature on all electronics by now.

Wait, what? This is news to people? Every phone and computer I've ever owned does this. And it's listed in the manual for our phone. I'm sorry, is this supposed to be a joke I'm missing or something?

When people are shocked that you can "quickly and easily" adjust the brightness of your screen by sliding your finger across the notification menu, then yes, this is definitely ground-breaking news.
Any owner's manual typically holds a few nuggets of awesome like this.

Ok so I have a blue gs3 that has a weak motherboard when it comes to overclocking and unvolting which I like to do. Now I also bought a red gs3 which can do all these things but im not crazy bout the color. So my question is, will there be any issues if I switch out the motherboards. I mean the only thing I see is the imei numbers wont match the stickers which im guessing I could swap out also. I mean I figure that if I ever sell or need to send out for warrenty work I will have to switch them back but in the meantime if I own both phones it shouldn't be an issue right?

Hey everyone. Thanks in advance. I have searched the forums, the web. Ended up here. I rooted my phone, added carbon rom. With goo download I think it was called. "Goo" something. Now my phone is dead. Will not boot to download mode. Will not turn on at all. The only time I can get anything response from the phone is when I pull the battery plug it in and hold the three buttons. The light stays red, but that is all. No activity from the screen. I have read the phone is "hard bricked" and that I basically need to buy a new phone. I hope that is not the case. Any help is much appreciated. Sorry if this is a repeat post, but after hours of research and no specific answers I felt this what the only way.
Thanks again!
My two suggestions...
1. Hold up (or was it down?) volume, home and power all at the same time. Until you get a reaction. Then figure it out from there
2. Your phone is done for.. Find out where the closest att service center is and say your phone screwed up during an update of theirs. Or just say your phone stopped working and hope for the best
A main question is, does your computer recognize your phone at all?

Thank you for the response. I tired 1 a hundred times and no luck. 2 is my next step tomorrow. BUT the weird thing, is if i pull the battery and plug it in the red charge light shows red. Also, having a PC the computer does the beep as if you plugged in something via USB. This i just recently discovered. Although i really dont think it matters. I also tried making a jig, no luck either. Most likely fail on my end with that.
At this point in time I think the best bet will be the ATT store. Unless someone has another solution, that is the only way I see it being fixed. Gotta read the details when you mess around with this stuff. Now I am paying the price.
Does Odin recognize it when you plug it in to the computer? Keep in mind you need the right drivers for it to recognize a working phone... And this is a longshot to day the least

One other forum the 19300 yes. Got flamed good too. Seems like a hand full of people like to chastise more than help. Couldnt figure out how to delete the original thread. I will try to make this as short as possible. I got my vzw galaxy nexus used on eBay 3 months ago. I loved it like it was my second child. A week ago I noticed the radio was not showing a signal or a very weak one, sometimes but it always worked. Until last night, It wouldn't register a signal so I rebooted it. It started to boot loop, never getting past the nexus logo. It was unlocked, rooted, but running stock jdq39. I left the battery out for an hour and it did boot to the lock screen. I would unlock then it would reboot again by itself. I then went down the road of trying to flash stock images, radios, and even cm10. All the stock images failed on flashing CDMA-radio. Cm10 came up but it started boot looping again, baseband was unknown as well as other info under status. As a last resort I tried to Odin 4.0.2 it failed at the very end trying to write (wait for it) CDMA-radio. Now it only boots to a yellow triangle with a phone and computer image on either side. I an not missing anything stupid right? The CDMA radio must be toast.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda app-developers app
Probably. Fastboot also fails?
a maguro wrote this.
It certainly sounds like a part of the hardware in the radio has been going bad. Is there any warranty left on it? Not sure if they're transferable since you bought it on eBay, but it's worth a shot to at least ask, either at your store or Samsung. The only other random things you might try is taking the LTE sim out and if you have access a different battery? Since it's failing on CDMA, the sim shouldn't have any effect, but since it's dead, it's worth a shot. Same for the battery. But yeah, sounds dead.

Yeah I can't even get into the boot loader anymore. So adb and fast boot don't work, but Odin still connects and can flash, just gets stuck at the cdma-radio.

Thanks! It was absolutely the cdma radio that died. The replacement came with CM10.1 RC4 but decided to flash it back to jdq39 stock. It flashed without problem using the same USB cable, computer and drivers. It seemed like hours when I flashed the cdma radio but in reality it only took a few minutes, but was very relived when it finished successfully. I figure I am just going to keep the other parts in case I need them.
