I want to give my HTC Desire to my dad and therefore I'm looking for a fast and stable GB Sense Rom (2.1 or 2.1+3.0 Hybrid) that does not require an Ext partition.
He should be able to remove/replace sd card without worrying. I doubt my dad will install that many Apps so no need for an a2sd solution. If the Rom fits into 145MB or 180MB /system this would be nice.
I could use stock Rom but I like the Sense 2.1/3.0 improvements and battery optimizations of custom Roms.
there is some rom

all them roms have a2sd or simular and require 1gb ext4 partition (i think) but yeah thats probably about as close as ur gona get to what ur looking for. insertcoin has a2sd and require 1gb ext4 partition, but very easy to setup, i think that rom would be ur best bet.

Also from reading around your best bets are probably InsertCoin and/or RCMix as they also include bits of Sense 3.0 (from Sensation/Flyer)
yes ive looked there to but they all are based on AceS not the SagaS as in DesireS i tried AceS based rom´s but i think the fonts are to small for the Desire screen...

Believe me if you try insertcoin with 1gb ext4 and cm7 hboot, you will see your phone flying....
sense 3 stuff are no longer problem, unless if you want lockscreen icons

ok, i tried the stock Hboot one... havent figured out how install that custom CM7 thing yet... are there any guides that are written for dumbasses like me?
you need to perform S-OFF procedure (note that in order to S-OFF you cant be using a ROM with scripts like a2sd+ or data2ext or any of these - use stock rooted rom or some aosp rom)
then, when S-OFF you need to download custom hboot from alpharev.nl and flash it. it will change your partition layout which will give you more space and SERIOUSLY speed up the phone.

Hey is there a way to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113070 ROM with data2ext option
As long as the dev does not program the rom for it, I would say the answer is no.
seems like the only data2ext rom is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200517
by the way is data2ext and data2sd the same feature or...
No, that's not true:

Hi,
i would just like to get some inputs on what is the most stable and smooth sense 3.5 rom today?
I flashed runnymede 2.1 today and i'm really satisfied with the smoothness. what i really like is the a2sdx script that give me 500+MB internal memory. but i think i can also flash the a2sdx script to other rom.
do you advice to try any other rom like BlissMod007 or Cool3D RunnyMede? or Runnymede all-in-one is better that the other?
Thanks!

For now RunnyMede AIO is the best Sense 3.5 Rom. (in my opinion) Also, I'm not sure that the a2sdx script can be used with other roms, the script writer said that its only for sebastiaan RunnyMede rom.

i have tried it with Coolexe Aces Sense 3.0 for atleast a week without any problem.
Too lazy to figure it out on your own? Or perhaps those countless "OMFG, this ROM ROCKZ" threads ain't enough for their majesty?

I am since yesterday on coolexe's cool3d aces v5 (sense 3.0, stock hboot with 1GB ext4 partition). I have noticed some lagging when having the weather as lock screen and generally some lagging when using the phone. Also another downside is the video recording. It is distorted somehow..:/ does it happen to all 3.0+ sense roms?

I think people with a decent SD card should go with the AIO rom, otherwise like me just stick with Cool's version, and flash snq's kernel (found in page 1 of sebastiaan's thread)
Hello all,
I want to install custom ROM. Now i am using the stock one. I have tried Oxygen 6 months ago but somehow did not get use to it. I want my new ROM have:
1) Stable and fast
2) FULL RTL support (notifications, gmail, calendar etc...)
3) Good battery life
4) Sense ( may also be without i just don't want to mess with lunchers and milion 3d part programs)
I don't want million build in programs wallpapers, themes etc... In market there is everything i need.
About A2SD or Data++, stock Hboot or modified, ext4 or ext3? i don't know. i need the most reliable solution with maximum memory but without problems in installation of programs ( i heard there is a problem with modified hboot and data++ but there is a solution).
Please advice
Runnymede AIO V5.0.1 Special Edition
It's a SENSE 3.5 ROM and it's full offeatures but u can disable what u want over the install visual platform (chose Cuztumized Install and check/unckeck what u want to install)
It's really amazing how this ROM is running well so far!!!
AIO stands for "All In One." It essentially is a single install, with apps 2 sd, tweaking options and all sense 3.5 bits included. You just flash the Rom and you are good to go.
Definetly Sebs Runnymede AIO 5.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315961) - the best Sense ROM nowdays. If you use CM7r2 HBOOT, you can use AD2SDX script (selectable during instalation) which is imho better then regular APP2SD (I use it and now I have 800MB of free "internal memory").
Personally I've been using This rom since I rooted it. Stable. Pieces of sense 2.1 and 3 in it and generally quite a nice rom
thank you all
any more suggestions? is not sense 3.5 a bit slow?

Nah, it's perfect irregardless of a not so short list of what's not working.

I would suggest you try tamirda 's RevolutioN 3.0 rom. After that everything else will seem slow to you.
ROM choose
i thought about RevolutioN ROM but i did not figured it out about all the versions and revolution 3d. What is the difference? what is the newest? i read in a hebrew forum that there is revolution v4. is it better? is there problem with overheat?
I wouldn't choose a Sense 3.0/3.5 ROM, if you want maximum Stability try Supernovas ROM, the other Sense 1.9 ROMS or the AOSPs.
If you want a very stable more eye-candy Sense Rom with maybe a bit less speed then the ROMs I mentioned before, try InsertCoin or Revolution. They are 2.1/3.0 Hybrids.
I myself am using InsertCoin for a few months now and havent experienced any failures yet.

Not 3d. Try the normal RevolutioN ROM. Difference: it's faster. Revolution v4: first time I've heard of it...
look at the toppic

any more suggestions
what about mildfire or miui
Tried Revolution for a month, but found it laggy various places.
I would recommend AN-droid, may only be sense 1.9 (original Desire) but very fast, stable and with apps2sd.

For me, Runnymede AIO V5 is not good enough. I tried several version but after 4-5 days, the rom becomes very slow.
just flashed beta ics and is looking great no probs so far!

Noob question,
Does anyone have any ideas which is the best, slimmest ROM to use(GB or ICS), which supports S2E?
There are some apps on Google Play which I'd like to download but they don't support the 2.1 android version I'm running.
I have a 1.5gb EXT4 which I'd like to utilise using the S2E.
Any help is appreciated.
Noel.
What you need is oxygen.. Slimmed version of GB needs only 100mb on /system.. Revision by roalex has a2ext built in..
Greetz
I think dGB and DevNull are the slimmest GB+ roms for desire.

Try MildWild's Roms
MildWild 5.0
MildWild Redux 10
The ROMs are very slim, stable and fast
Over the last 3 months i\ve tried 7-8 ROMs for HTC Desire. The best I've found and am currently using is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432250 It's really fast and slim, and supports sd-ext.
I used MildWild 5. Very slim and fast rom. The other rom that I used too is AlexV - sence rom.
