I am looking for the best heart rate monitor and app to use with my S3. Think I am looking for the chest strap type monitor.
Any suggestion would be awesome!
Thanks
I use Endomondo app for running. The free version is great but I upgraded for the Race against me feature...now if it was only not 110 outside - 81 for a low temp?
For HR strap I've been eying up but haven't bought yet - its BT and looks really nice: Zephyr HxM http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002PL33AQ.

It would be nice if they use bluetooth 4
will this work with the US version of the S3?
http://www.wahoofitness.com/Products/Wahoo-Fitness-Wahoo-Blue-HR-Heart-Rate-Strap-for-iPhone-4S.asp
or this
http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/accessories/H7_heart_rate_sensor
they say they work with Bluetooth 4 but I cannot confirm the S3 has bluetooth 4.
thanks
S3 has Bluetooth 4.

S3 is NOT Bluetooth 4.0, although most sites or spec reviews claim it is...I boughtthe Polar H7 and it does not pair with it....Im looking to see about an adapter that may work, otherwise, i will go with the zephyr or polar wearlink +
Look into the fit bit or the bodymedia fit link also.. Both have e android apps.. Doesn't do hrm but if your looking for something to help with weight loss or gain that's where you want to look.

You must be pretty sure of yourself.
Most reviews and even the specs Samsung is offering state that the S3 does indeed have BT4 but because you weren't able to pair it with a certain device all those review pages and the producer of the phone are wrong? It couldn't possible be that the other device is the cause of the failed pairing or, as impossible as it may sound, you made a mistake?
I'm not claiming the S3 does have BT4. I just find your way of reasoning kind of peculiar.
There's also an app that will do heart rate measurement using the camera and the flash which is surprisingly accurate:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azumio.instantheartrate.full
Demo version also available.
I have Cardio trainer app that will work with the Polar Wearlink +
that might be a decent alternative.
@alee: That app is awesome, I got it during the ten cent app sale

I believe there is an app out there that will integrate with fit bit to give you that capability.

Does anyone got to use Polar H7 with the Galaxy S3?
I haven't used it yet, but according to http://www.bluetooth.com/pages/Bluetooth-Smart-Devices.aspx , it should work fine with the s3 since it's on the list of approved/capable devices.
I'm actually looking for a companion program that will work with it. Currently using Cardio Trainer Pro, but it seems like development died 6 months ago....
Android does not support Bluetooth low energy. The S3 has the hardware but not the ability to use it

Hey guys,
Is any bluetooth keyboard compatible with my android device, in my case galaxy s2?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
i think its a plenty on the market such ebay or amazon. just carefully read if you interested with genuine samsung dock keyboard for each type is different, otherwise you might using aftermarket or apple A1314 product
There is a lot of generic ones that don't work becareful. I saw a lot of bad reviews on a lot of them on Amazon. If anyone knows of one that works, I like to know. I don't want to waste my money on a piece of crap.

For those who've been looking for a pair of great of IEMs with android compatable inline controls, the S4a's are out. Happened to come across them at Futureshop today so it was a pleasant surprise, although I'm still iffy about the 120CAD I put towards them. Once they have about 100+ hours of burn in I'll decide if I'll keep 'em for a few reasons.
The box includes the usual multiple sized tips and the earbuds themselves, but they also come with a clip to use to attach the mic/control onto clothing and a nice sized carrying case.
According to Kilpsch themselves, they have incredible functionality with their customized app, which I'll be looking into it over the next few weeks.
Anyone else been interested in these?

Sure.
Just from toying around with them thus far I've come across a couple things that irritate me personally to do with the controls, but I might be able to find workarounds for these little hassles.

I got them from Futureshop up here in Canada for 120CAD.
Quick first impression:
I expected that you could only customize the three functions (single, double, and triple click) and speed of clicking. That's certainly the case. Their volume control is non-customizable and very finicky, and the speed to control the button timing isn't all too great either. Otherwise it does what it says it does, just not every function at once of course.
I won't go into their sound as there are hundreds of reviews of the S4's sound online, and the only difference with these to the usual S4 is the addition of a button.
the app works for me too no problems
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Old thread by now, but I'm thinking of picking these up for my S2.
I'm sure the sound and stuff is great from the sound of other online reviews, but what I'm worried about is the durability of the cord.
How has your cords been?
And if you could, give a little description of how you've been using them.
Thanks

Are you looking for wired or wireless? Following would be my pick for either.
- Wired: M-Audio AV-40
- Wireless: Logitech Boombox
(Both recommendations are based on reviews and I do not own either but I have heard M-Audio (different model) and they sound great )
Supertooth disco bluetooth speaker the first one not the second one that just came out its about $109.86 on amazon ..great sound and sick base..i use amazon prime best deal on amazon right now

I can't post links yet, but the TDK V513 Wireless Sound Cube is the best speaker I own. And I own many, I have a problem with buying too many speakers.
For real though, at $100 it's a steal for the quality sound and power it puts out. I guarantee you'll love it.

I have had my eye on the Sony. Can't remember the model number - but their high-end one is 40 watts.
I have a yamaha thr-10 that will knock your socks off for its size. But do have to plug in. May shop for a bluetooth receiver for it. It is also a mean guitar amp.
link to the sony: http://store.sony.com/premium-bluet...00/cat-27-catid-All-iPod-Clocks-Speaker-Docks
I have the Logitech Z600 and they work great with my laptop, phone and tablet. If you pause one and play the other, it immediately switches so I only need one set for three devices.
They sounds pretty good. There are probably some better sounding ones out there but not with the functionality that the z600s have.
I recommend.
Samsung DA-E570 looks like a solid contender in that price range.
That, or try to find a used B&W Zeppelin Air. Simply amazing product.

The new G-Boom should be a good loud speaker. The reviews are great on it.
I'll never understand why people are willing to blow so much money for basically no reason. Get a bluetooth adapter like the HTC Stereoclip (yes it works) or any number of a bazillion others and hook them up to your basic existing system.
OR, don't use bluetooth, because it's barely FM quality on a good day, doesn't have enough range to go outside of a single room, and most importantly: it is NOT worthy of some $100+ speakers. It blows my mind why people are willing to throw away that much cash for something a $20 pair of computer speakers from the 90's were capable of doing, all because it has some fancy plastic case on top of it. (Lookin' at you, Jambox)

I use the Jabra Sport+ bluetooth headset when running. Not as good a sound quality as some wired headphones but I don't care about that when running. It actually has a great mic, even in windy situations the calling party can hear and understand you.
I'm using the stock battery and using Endomondo with a bluetooth HRM and the Jabra Sport+ headset I can ride my bike up to 4 hours before the battery is empty. No music on while riding my bike though, only listening to the audio coach from Endomondo.
When running I have the phone in a Belkin armband and I have another nice one that is unbranded.
Thanks for reply
