Kindle Fire Touchscreen problem - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, 3 days ago i noticed a problem with the touchscreen, in the keyboard when I touch a letter, press another automatically, for example if I press "L", keyboard marked "L" and "F", please I need help.
Sorry for my English.

If your not already on the latest version of the ROM your on you can try updating.
Otherwise get this app: SGS Touchscreen Booster
It allows you to control the sensitivity of the touchscreen.
Hashcode's latest ROM also has a touchscreen filter in settings.
You can also try installing another keyboard such as Swiftkey.

I download an app to calibrate the touchscreen and my brother told me that already works, but thanks.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus touch problem.

HiI have problems with my touch screen.
I tryed playing games and I noticed that when I tap on the left of the screen and than I try to move with the right part of the screen sometimes I loose the touch feedback.
I installed this software to test.
https://market.android.com/details?...mNvbS50aGU1MTFwbHVzLk11bHRpVG91Y2hUZXN0ZXIiXQ..
At the first boot of the phone I don't have any problem, than I run shadowgun and it seems that the touch "crashes". I exit the game, I enter the multi touch tester and I have the problem. I need to reboot the phone.
WTF?
no one else noticed this problem?
Already a thread on this use search function. There is no solution ....yet

do you know if the latest 4.0.2 fixed the touch problem?

[VIDEO] Touchscreen registering touches at the top of the screen

I just did a full wipe and installed a new rom. Is the touchscreen really broken? Any software fix for this?
Is that a first gen. kindle? Doesn't look good for sure.

yes, its a first gen kindle fire.
Go developer options disable show touches and pointer location . If your using twa_priv`s sgt7 you can use the touch screen filter under settings/advanced start with something between 30 and 40 that should improve touch quality.
i enabled pointer location to show where the 'ghost' touches were.
this did not happen until a few days ago, i never had to set the touchscreen filter to make it work properly.
can i know which rom/app lets me change the touchscreen filter setting?
i really hope that i wont have to replace the touchscreen..
If your not using twa_priv`s rom you could try it it`s located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778010 otherwise try SGS touchscreen bootster by Nao.Perturbe.ME in the market it has worked good for me and my kindle in the past.

thanks, i'll try that rom, the sgs app didnt work for me..
i have flashed [ROM] CM10/SGT7 for the Kindle Fire [20121112] [Linaro] and set the touchscreen filter from 0 to 35, there was no difference, the 'ghost' touches at the top of the screen is still present. I tried setting it to 100 but it doesnt help either.
any capacitive touchscreen experts here can help me analyse the problem? will replacing the digitizer help?
I have EXACTLY the same problem, but mines stuck a little bit lower in the upper right side of the screen. It appears before I even touch the screen, like some sort of static field is messing up with the capacitive sensor..
Did you manage to solve this anyhow?

[Q] Kindle Fire problem

I have boot loader v1.4a and twrp v2.2.2.1. I have installed Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2_r1 for the Kindle Fire [10-10] and i am using it for more then 6 months and i didn't have any problem not even with wifi or sleep, it was working perfectly and i was using the tablet a lot so i am sure it is well tested and had no problems at all. But since two weeks ago the screen started to lock randomly while using the tablet. For example i was playing a game and the virtual joystick locked it self but then i realize and the back, home and recent apps buttons are also not usable but the game was going on, so i click the hard key on the bottom to lock the screen and when i click again to unlock and i slide the lock to unlock the screen the game is paused and when i resume everything continue with no problem but then after a while it happen again and it happen on random games or apps. I don't know what is the problem if anyone has solution or similar problem please write to me.

One suggestion is to do a full wipe (factory reset, cache, dalvik and system) and go with a much newer ROM Many issues have been cleared up in the last six months.
Thanks for the reply i was thinking the same but i tried to fix it first, but as you say i will give it a try on the new 4.2.2

I have the same problem since a few months. I've changed the flex for a new one and that fix it for a week. Then it happened again. It recurrently happens after the battery gets totally empty, and when you power in again the touch pad doesn't work. I'm actually using aurora play rom, and I'm going to restore the stock rom, I have the feel that there will be the problem, but no sure. I would like to know if you have problems with your battery too. For example, when I connect via usb cable to my pc or the ac'adapter, it turns the phone slow and some times it shut down immediately. what have you done before to get the touch again, because you said it happened again? and are u using stock or a custom rom? It maybe help me to help you. Well finally a have the same problem. If I can solved I'll give you a better answer. Sorry because the writing I'm Latin american and my English it's poor.
Slider flex cable again?
Anyway, only way that i found that can be used for answering/ending calls is xposed module called "xposed additions". Very few options in it, but it can bound any key to be used as answering key.
It is working on stock rom, with xposed framework for GB installed.
You can find apk of it in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44034334 and actual module you can download from XF app itself (you only need root, but that is pritty much easy these days)
Only down-side is that front buttons can't wake device, only power button. But since you unlock by sliding out, it won't affect you. I personaly have search key enabled for calls, but even home or menu key can be used.
Also, check keyboard at
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomjenkinson.emergencykeyboard
You can use it for texting. It will be slow, but better then nothing

Mouse toggle problem after latest update

I can not get mouse toggle to work after upgrading my fire tv 2 box to 5.2.7.0_r1. Does anyone have it working? I even went to the app store and downloaded the latest one (remote for fire tv ) still no go. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Try disabling adb debugging from your developer options, and then re-enable it again, that worked for me on the same rom, I think theres something that's messing with the service, the app itself recommend you that if the state of the service is stuck on "starting" try that workaround, I think that would do the job.

Thank you but, I did try that. It starts fine (says started in bottom corner) but, won't bring up the cursor when double clicking the pause/play button.
I had the same issue but after rebooting the firetv it worked fine.

No luck, tried that a few times. Thanks though.
there is a fix i found
it seems these guys have the latest APK file for the mouse toggle. it worked great on my fire tv. they also have a couple of troubleshooting guidelines.
I have a Fire TV 4k Is there a mouse toggle that works for it?
I have tried disabled/enabling ADB and the app always gets stuck on starting, reboot does nothing
I have hooked up a real mouse for **** sakes and the damn FireTV does not seem to support a mouse fully as I don't get a cursor on any app and you don't know where you are clicking. It really sucks as many sideloaded apps won't work fine without touch screen or a mouse cursor

Try this sequence from shell when mouse toggle is stuck on "starting" or the pointer is stuck:
/data/local/tmp/.mousetoggle/nmouseg stop
/data/local/tmp/.mousetoggle/nmouseg start >/dev/null &

I should have said "reflashed" the latest rbox rom. The instructions are in his thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/development/firetv-2-sloane-prerooted-stock-images-t3309783
