[Q] FireFireFire-TWRP Issue (Need Help) - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, my kindle fire is rooted and everything. I have FFF (1.4a) installed on it as well as twrp. When I go to KFU, it always takes too long waiting because it can't enter the fastboot mode. I've been poking around and nothing has really been any help. Is there any way of just deleting fff from my kindle by using something like root explorer? If so, what's the path to get to this? Is there any simple way to uninstall FFF from my device? Or is there a shortcut to getting into TWRP without having to reboot?
I tried a factory reset, but that didn't even unroot my kindle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially that in Lamen's terms.

I couldn't make sense out of any of that.
What are you trying to achieve exactly? The removal of FFF and TWRP? Going back to stock?

Sorry, what I was asking is can I remove fff or is there a way to access twrp without rebooting.

The easiest way to go back to stock (without TWRP or FFF) would be to download this .bin from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620 and rename it to update.zip and flash it like a normal ROM through TWRP, I would also suggest wiping for good measure. I am not sure why you don't want to reboot though, that part perplexes me...

Well, the issue is that i can't access TWRP to flash anything. FFF is preventing me from getting to that point.

What happens when you try to go to recovery through FFF?

Okay, so I'll turn my kindle on. It'll say Kindlefire and then it says "Press power button to access boot menu". I press it, three options appear. Normal boot, recovery, and Reset Boot Mode . If i hit recovery, it'll reboot and take me back to the Kindlefire. It just loops like that.

Have you tried holding down the power button when you first turn it on until it turns from green to orange?

All it does is power off.

So if you are currently running stock which you rooted... I would again suggest to download the .bin file above from amazon and drop it into the "kindleupdates" folder on your sdcard then go to settings>device and click on the update button which should now be highlighted.

Okay. Ill have to reroot it, right? Thank you so much.

Okay, will I need to reroot?

Sounds to me like you may not have TWRP installed - can you reinstall it?

Yes, you will have to reroot using KFU but it should be fairly easy once you're back to stock

just a side note rooting is not required to install twrp and fff simply just select those options from kindle fire utility and custom recovery twrp and the fff bootloader will be added to your device

I really appreciate your help, but I kinda just want it off my phone completely as I have Autism and it bothers me a lot :\. I am very OCD about this kind of stuff and I just want my phone to turn completely off by itself. Thanks for all your help
Yeah, have the exact same error, I can't even calibrate my battery as it never shut down ...
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
On the sticky about how to revert back to stock there is the stock recovery image. Just flash that and your done. However i seem to recall the reboot thing being a know issue for the hboot? I might be totally wrong about that though. One other thing make sure your really rooted and true s off with the gfree method if you still want root and custom stuff.

I might be the only person who actually likes that it goes into recovery when plugged into usb and off. No stupid button combinations to remember. Personally the only time my phone is off is when it's dead. Otherwise it's 24/7 operation. To each his own though. I'm sure there is a guide on how to remove the recovery in the android development section.

Use this recovery. It is the stock eng-recovery. Its the stock recovery, but has adb enabled in it, just incase something goes wrong at somepoint it might be your window back in...

Put it in your sdk folder, boot into fastboot, then use the fastboot cmd in that post.

There isn't one. You either have to stay with the phone powered on in Clockwork and charging, or flash back to the stock recovery (e.g. if you have fastboot/adb working, then "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", where recovery.img is a stock recovery image from the stock ROM).

Also, if you get stuck on bootloop after unlocking bootloader (This happened to me couple times), do a factory reset in stock recovery to fix:
Thanks to shimp208 for the sideload method and working CWM, ChainFire for awesome SuperSU and to all the developers who are worked on CWM recovery!

If you go into fastboot mode then choose recovery to get to the screen with the red triangle, keep pressing the power button and volume buttons randomly until the stock recovery pops up. From there do a factory reset and it'll work, I just did it to mine!
I flashed the CWM recovery img so when I do what you say it takes me to the bootloader screen and says Downloading. No red triangle. It boots into CWM and then after 20 seconds restarts itself and hits the bootanimation loop. Any clue what to do next? Trying to flash the stock image but having issues using cmds in windows cmd
*edit
I cleared cache through cmd and i got to the red triangle...thank ****ing the lord. DTWAZERE, I will remember tonight. Thank you for your help.

Thing is it will delete the CWM recovery when you leave it so you'll have to reflash it, which is why this is so unstable!
I had the exact same thing as you and this is what I did:
Press the power button to turn it off while it says downloading
Hold both volume buttons down and power on to get into fastboot
Choose recovery
Press power and volume buttons randomly when the red triangle appears until you get stock recovery
Choose Factory Reset
Reboot
You should be able to get back into the rom that way,
to root it you need to boot into fastboot again, reflash the recovery, and sideload the superuser apk

Yeah this is exactly what I did and it worked. I'll wait on flashing anything until there's a stable recovery. I was fairly confident in what I was doing until that happened. Not being able to input commands from cmd prompt made me sick so I'll wait for a dev to release something that works without having to quickly install the drivers again within a 15-20 second timeframe. Too much stress.

If you are stuck on the boot animation (X) screen... power off your device and enter fastboot mode and then type fastboot -w... I has this problem and this fixed it!
NOTE: fastboot -w will wipe your internal storage completely

THIS WORKED!!
Youre a genius. thanks!
When I try to install the manta drivers manually and tell it to search the same area that it searched and found the android bootloader drivers for fastboot mode it says that the drivers couldn't be found and installed. Am I missing something? Also if i try to do fastboot flash recovery it gives me an error message stating that it cannot determine the image filename for the recovery image.
Well i guess i did it the long way around.
Went to https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mantarayjop40c
and downloaded the Nexus 10 file. extracted, and the actual files in the Nexus10Root folder.
Opened the flash-all.sh and entered each command manually because it was erroring out running the script.
After the 3rd command it booted right into android!

[Q] Bootmenu StockPlus Stuck at Boot Animation

Hello.
I have an OUYA that was perfectly running Bootmenu and would automatically boot into Cyanogenmod. My curious son wanted to have the gaming console back so he tried loading the alternate boot which brough up the failsafe and asked to flash a rom. He loaded the StockPlus zip and when it boots up it doesn't load the bootmenu. The animation it is stuck on is OUYA with letters growing and shrinking.(if that makes any sense).
Connecting USB to computer brings up MTP USB Device and it installed OUYA drivers. I tried running adb devices and nothing was listed.
Is my OUYA broken? please tell me there is something i could do. I tried the ALT+SysRq+I and it just freezes the animation.

If it is loading the drivers for mtp it won't show up in adb. Try holding sys+alt and repeatedly tapping I as soon as you power it on. Keep doing that for around 45 seconds and see if that will get you into recovery.

Download the latest ota from here to your computer.
http://dlyv5j2269q7v.cloudfront.net/ota/RC-OUYA-1.2.1084-r1_ota.zip
Connect your computer to your OUYA. On your OUYA select install zip and then from adb. I don't have my OUYA in front of me so it may be worded different. Once the OUYA is waiting flash the zip from your computer to ouya using adb. Make sure to clear cache and dalvik to be safe.
I usually rename the ota zip so I don't have to type out the full name.I didn't explain any adb processes because it sounds like you're familiar with them but let me know if you have any more questions.
If you're in recovery there's lots of hope for your OUYA.

Does anyone have a Nandroid Backup I could Use for the Z00AD?

Hey all, little embarrassing coming here for this, but I'm in a little bit of a jam. I'm new to flashing custom ROMs, and I was trying to flash my first today, and managed to screw everything up in the process. I can boot into Clockwork mod via my PC, and I can still do everything I need to from there, but I was stupid, and didn't make a Nandroid backup before doing so. So I was wondering if anyone here could lend me theirs that I could slap onto an SD card, and recover my phone with. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Just so we're clear, this isn't an attempt to get personal information. I will take any backups you have, with or without an unlocked bootloader, with or without rooting, with or without custom ROM, anything. Heck, I'd prefer to have it as close to stock as possible, so I can do everything myself. I just need a bit of a bailout here.
Shameful self-bump. I could still really use some help here.

EDIT: Nevermind, seems I ADB recognizes the device with CWM running. Now I gotta see where to go from there.
Now I've encountered problem number 2: I didn't allow USB debugging for the computer I'm using (USB debugging is ticked in the settings [or at least I think it is], but it's not authorized for my PC). So here's the question: Can I authorize it through Minimal ADB and Fastboot?
Triple post, but it's with a question. I'm nearly positive that this whole ordeal is going on because I tried to boot into recovery mode with the TWRP app when no recovery was available. So now the question is, is there any way I can stop the phone from trying to boot into recovery so I can install a proper one?
Turn it off, then press volume up + power when vibrates, release power while holding volume up, then release volume up as well, it should boot into bootloader where you can fastboot a new recovery.

By factory reset you mean using the stock images from the Razer forums? In that case you'd need to unlock your bootloader again and install a custom recovery again as well. After which you should be able to boot into recovery using adb
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Flash the SuperSU zip or magisk zip from there and you have root once more.

So that means you still have TWRP installed and an unlocked bootloader. Getting root should then be a simple matter of rebooting to recovery and flashing the SuperSU zip. Use
Code:
adb reboot recovery
to reboot to recovery since you have no power button.
It doesn't go on recovery mode, it goes to the fast boot mode,
And then just restarts the phone btw, I have the SuperSU zip on my device, I can see it on my files.
EDIT: Nvm, one lucky day, my phone booted into TWRP (Idk how that happened) and I could Install the SuperSU Zip like you told me, Thanks!!!! It's rooted again.
