IS there a Way to increase The DPI for Use with The Tablet mod on CM9? If you Download all your Apps Before changing it, it wouldn't matter if the Play store wouldn't work?, fairly new to the E4GT (and tablet mod) threads so i might need some explaining on a few things.
if possible, what is needed to be done,
if not possible, reasons why?
thanks in advance
No it has to bee on 128 dpi for tablet mode to work using the cm9 zip. I'd also suggest you look at ParanoidAndroid. Might be more of what you're looking for.

HEy,
So, I searched and read and I really like the tablet mode tweak.
I tried the paranoid rom and the rom itself is great, but for me its pretty slow and just doenst work pretty well. Needs some more dev imo, but its on a great way.
However I'm back to aokp m5 with trinity kernel wich just runs awesome.
And I'm asking myself if I could just go with the tablet mode hack and aokp m5?
Will this work out? Or will I experience a lot of issues with that?
Or is it maybe even possible to just get that statusbar? I like the menus but I would be pleased if I could just get that statusbar.
Sorry if this questions may sound stupid ;/
Im glad for any help.
Regards
All you have to do is change your dpi to 192 and fine a modded phone apk. In run every aokp on table mode with absolutely no issues. I just can't use my phone in "phone" mode after using tablet mode.

Well, what about the gapps ? YouTube and browser would not be the same as tablet version ( need to flash modded gapps also ?)

Gapps get modified to tablet mode. Another thing u will need is Nova launcher and the modded market that shows ur dpi as the stock one. That way all the apps are available to you.

Really love this rom! It has the stability and efficiency of the stock ones I've used so far plus great battery life. Gotta love those power widgets!
I was having one issue with an app's compatibility... I use an app for scheduling at work and it works on some other ROMs, but on others it says its "not compatible with my device" in the Play Store. I know you would like a logcat, but I'm not sure one could make on for this type of issue? I'm not sure if it's because of the stock JB kernel and maybe because other ROMs use the CM kernel.
Has anyone else had compatibility issue with any JB ROM like this? Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks for your time!
Probably something in the build.prop. ie LCD density. Stock is 320dpi. Anything else may throw up errors on certain apps.

Thanks for the help I did so via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392089 Method 2 but the densities of my other ROMs were the same which is what confused me on why it would be incompatible due to LCD density. Are there any other build.prop mods that could affect this?
Just curious if any has been able to lower their dpi on this phone? If so, on what rom and was it done manually or with app?
I always love to make things as small as possible to get more screen size and have typically (in the past) used a great program LCD Density Modder Pro to do so.
When I first got the phone I did successfully use it once to do so but since then after many rom changes and mods I can't do it anymore. It goes through but after reboot it never makes it back to is and hangs. Would love to be able to do so.
If you do so please let me know how?
Thanks

Rom toolbox pro best app out there for any rom changes

Definitely Rom Toolbox Pro. I used to use LCD Density Modder Pro too. I current set my screen to either 220 or 240. Running 220 now with not too many issues. If you are on ICS, you will need a different dialer program such as exDialer. If you are on Jellybean, the stock dialer works just fine, though you will see some overlap issue in the recent calls list at 220.
ROM toolbox. The lite version works fine for DPI changes. Make sure you back up first.
I'm using 280.
Manually edit it. Open build.prop in your system folder. Go 20 or 30 lines down and you'll see:
ro.sf.lcd_density=320
Change 320 to whatever. Don't go too low or too high. It technically will boot but screen won't be visible. I don't know what too high or too low is. I run at 280. Lowest I've been

Could I see some screen shots of this? I always ran my gnex at 280. Do you guys have market issues such as incompatible apps with a lower dpi?

I was just going to ask the same thing. In the past changing the dpi would cause compatibility issues in the market but Density Modder Pro had the fix built in and it worked great. It also allowed for testing changed settings first.
Is it just not supported on this phone anymore? Does Rom Toolbox have a market fix or a test first?

Looks pretty messed up at 280 with touchwiz
Don't use lcd_density modder pro to change dpi. Just use it for the market fix.

Oh so I can still use density modder pro for the fix!?.. that's awesome if so. So just changing dpi manually is recommended? Or with rom toolbox as well? And then use modder pro for market fix?
And on this phone (north American S3) what's the lowest (successful) dpi it can operate at?
Thanks to anyone who can answer these.

You got it! As far as lowest dpi. I've went as low as 250 with no problem. But have heard numbers as low as 220.

I used ROM Toolbox Lite for the change, then LCD Density Modder Pro for market fix.
I reccomend Apex launcher which works well at other DPIs.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix apps that look like this?
I used rom toolbox to edit buildprop dpi and it worked flawlessly on stock lk8.
Also wanted to just inform that my battery life is ridiculous after editing cpu adjustments in rom toolbox as well. If anyone wants my settings used for cpu in rom toolbox just ask.
I attached an image of what the camera app is doing as well as my battery life so far.
+edit+ so after work I was able to evaluate which apps don't show correctly and here's what ive found so far....phone and camera display are a little off but theyre both completely viewable ++
Still trying to figure out how to fix this

Heres 2 more screenshots of misbehaving apps...as of now its only camera, dialer, amd mutiwindow that looks off but multiwindow apps function normal when opened. Also the samsung keyboard forcecloses so I disabled that and use swype with no issues due to dpi change

I saw this and since he doesnt have a device and hasnt done anything really with lk8 I thought.id give it a shot and see what I could get going only thing is I pmed KBizzle from the Paranoid thread and he says it appears the framework isnt built for such a low dpi. So ill keep diving into it and see what I can come up with for a reasonable solution

Well they do work on LK8.
I dont know if it is a bug but the dpi is way to small to use normally. I have changed the dpi settings to a higher dpi but with no luck. Everything is just very small and I am wondering if im just doing something wrong or if it is a bug because the rom is still not fully developed.
Ive had the v same issue, even clockwork recovery looks tiny.
