I am very happy with this phone

Today being Christmas I am thankful for this smartphone. Yeah there is always something better coming around the corner, but not to be greedy lets be happy with this awesome device.
Being rooted with a great ROM and cool ICS theme this phone is warp speed fast, with great battery life, and looks so damn cool.
Even compared to my buddies new Nexus, I honestly like this phone a bit better, for numerous reasons.

The thing I am so amazed at, is how far Android has come along in such a short time.
My first Android was the MyTouch 3G, which was very clunky and choppy, and just a couple years later I am holding this awesome Galaxy SII with 4.5" AMOLED screen that is razor thin and very lightweight.
Wow Android has come a long long way compared to those first year devices.

Android has come along way. My first Droid being the G1 on TMobile.
My cousin who still has a MyTouch 3G Fender, and man compared to this GSII you can see the night and day difference. His even has the old Android market... SMH...

Ahhh the wizard, that was my pocket computer.

This is truly an amazing machine. soo silky smooth and lightning fast. great battery life. Super amoled screen.... its only proof that we are back on schedule in reaching the Jetsons soon.

Yep somehow it ran wm6.5 faster yhan wm 5. I almost bought a tilt but waited awhile and got mytouch 3g. Wizard was built like a tank though look at how much bigger screens got.

Definitely a great phone. Cant wait for what the future of android and the galaxy line holds. But a family member had his Nexus and I feel so much better. I already knew it was not worth jumping through hoops to get. But now I have no jealousy at all. Only things it has is ICS in pure form. It also feels a bit more solid.

My brother recently got an iPhone 4S and I got to play with it for a bit, and it made me really appreciate the GS2 that I have so much more. It's an amazing phone and I'm perfectly happy with the phone I have, finally.

I'm very happy with this phone. I haven't even rooted it yet and I'm not sure I have a reason to. Yet? lol
My only gripe is the slipperyness of the back cover. I have a case on order so I hope that will help it.

Yes we get it. We don't have ICS while other devices enjoy a port. It's not the end of the world. This thread does nothing but add to the countless of pointless threads that have been created referring to our lack of ICS.

If this is in fact an epic touch, then this thread has loads of meaning. From what I understand our fellow e4gt owners acted like children making the devs go away. This is from November? Man... could of had a daily ics rom right now.

Yeah that's our Epic Touch. It had the touch buttons of the Nexus on the bottom and the radios didn't work, but it was cool to play around with. Flashed it on my phone for a few minutes before going back to Blazer. I'm still hoping we'll have a daily before the Nexus drops on Sprint, but I doubt it.

That's from when people were flashing the international port when it was unusable. With an international port ours should be fairly easy, MUCH easier if we had a leak like they do.

I do believe that members complaining and crying about ICS made the Devs upset so they just dropped it. That's how it is sometimes. The video is of a international port.

Doesn't mean anything whatsoever. These international leaks were for GSM SGS2's, which, last I looked, the Epictouch still isn't. Mine's still a CDMA phone, and there haven't been any leaks for a CDMA SGS2, so we're still where we are with that.
As far as devs go, what do you mean by they "went away"?
They're still "there", (it's not like they were killed by ET4G owners), and they (he) are/(is) still working on ICS: Just not here on XDA.
Btw, this IS another useless thread, in case anyone was on the fence about it....

Great point. ICS will be great, however, there are currently so many great roms / themes out for the E4GT. Enjoy your phone and worry about ICS when and if it gets to our phone.

Wouldn't worry too much. Users cried and lost the chance. I think a select few might be working on it behind the scenes. Xda has become full of elites and jerks lowkey. I bet rootzwiki gets it before Xda anyday....YEA I SAID IT.

So, today I watched the Sammy keynote, didn't like the S3, and so I called up VZW and ordered my shiny new Nexus. It should be here Tuesday (and now I'm petrified it won't for some reason lol). Can't wait, and already know what I'm doing as soon as I get it. Activate it, upgrade to 4.0.4 so I have radios and bootloader, unlock, root, flash TWRP, flash AOKP, flash GLaDOS kernel, and have an epic phone! Can't wait to be a part of this community!

Just curious since I've never done it yet but why not order from AmazonWireless for cheaper?
Also really happy to have a vet of your caliber on the Nexus side of things, welcome aboard I look forward to joining as well come tomorrow when my GSM version arrives

I'm transferring an upgrade and upgrading early too, so I can't. For people who can, it's smart though!

the only difference for me was flashing RasCream with the Trinity kernel. but Eze is a great guy, so GlaDOS is alright in my book

From my experience, AOKP is AMAZING (on the INC2 though), and if you hate it so much, what ROM should I flash? Liquid and CNA are just AOKP with extra features (I think you get the message). The other one I am inclined to try is Paradigm.

Oh and I'll also try GummyNex!

That's why I like his roms so much, because he removes all of the ugly green. Not to mention his rom from E4GT was so fast and smooth.

This, sir, is exactly what I've been waiting for! A custom rom that I don't have to flash a theme over. Your rom for the E4GT was my daily driver before I got hooked on >>>> Ice cream sandwiches <<< that's a hard habit to break, gained at least 30lbs. I expect nothing but the best from you, as I know you wouldn't touch ICS on the E4GT before source. If there's a FC, I guarantee it won't be coming from a DBL S masterpiece. S III community is now a better place!!!
For all those that may be curious....yes, I'm pumping his balls. I know what this guy is capable of!!!

Got a 4S and this phone has been nothing but awesome so far, amazing battery life, timely updates, camera is AWESOME! And app variety is much better and smoother on iOS
