Hi guys,
The day has arrived:
AlphaRevX now includes support for the Droid Incredible 2 (HBOOT 0.97).
Hop on over to http://alpharev.nl/x/beta/
We'll use this as a support thread.
This version will also download and flash custom recovery if you want to, after getting S-OFF.
Note: the very first download missed some DLLs for the windows version, that should be included now.
USB Drivers here: http://www.multiupload.com/2OFYWZFCCR
EDIT: Currently does NOT work in Windows. Use Linux.
Small Linux distro here: Download Puppy Linux
Download that, burn it to a CD or put it on a flash drive with UNetbootin.
Boot up and download/make a new key for Linux. Extract it and run as root. (open terminal and run "sudo ./alpharevx")
I couldn't get it to work in vmWare.
mines stuck on waiting for fastboot...im on window 7 64 bit, im gonna try reinstalling the drivers, but nothing else ive tried works
after reinstalling drivers....it now says failed
I am testing with my friend phone's , mine was off with xtc clip .
Thanks for work
Hell. YEAH. I'll be attempting this tomorrow!
Praise the lord, the dream is alive.
Many thanks to all the hard working folks out there. Y'all rock.
Happy rooting to all.

It keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting, and that makes it get stuck. I uninstalled the htc sync and drivers and reinstalled the linked driver here. Going to try again. It just flat out failed the first time, got all the way to rebooting the bootloader x2 the second time, but then failed. Both times I heard the bu-dunk of a device being unconnected from my computer. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
Edit: I tried downloading the alpharev file again, and it had more stuff in it this time. Going to try again. Will post results.
Edit 2:Still no joy. Failed in the same spot. Tried on xp and same thing. Will dig around for my old ubuntu cd and see what happens.
I keep getting stuck at waiting for fastboot also, win7 pro 64 also, might boot into linux and see if it works that way
Are there specific system requirements for this to run?

Let's put a error summary here:
- Windows 7 32/64bit (or all Windows OS?)
- HTC Sync not installed.
- HTC Drivers (provided by Alpharev) installed.
- switching USB ports tried
- two fastboot attempts
+ specifically for those without .dll problems (resolved).
Also, could a mod possibly merge the three Alpharevx threads..? :/
On Windows 32 it makes it up to the Fastboot process. Enter the key, everything works good, then it gets to the section trying to change the Fastboot and fails each time.
Do I need Android sdk for this, for adb.

For now there's only the Linux option. Seems like drivers and .dll problems don't happen there.
When i try it it says (Beta key accepted - thank you for participating!) but nothing happens my phone doesnt do anything. any help would be great.
i failed in windows numerous times, went downstairs to use my linux server and worked first time.

+1 Please
so if linux is the only way right now, am i able to run a VM using linux to use alpharev?
Anyone tried rooting via Heimdall yet as opposed to Odin? Hoping for some good news before I try and brick this thing...
It doesn't work. Just follow the guide and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I've currently got two instances of win 7, one XP and one server 2003 under Virtual Box on my laptop. Also have a few machines running under KVM on my home server. One of those ought to do the trick. Was just wondering if I could be a purist in this endeavor.

Universal Naked Driver 0.72

32 & 64 Bit Windows 8 / 7 / Vista / XP - Attached to this post!
MD5: 30D25BC073F010CA01178CD6E2C5E4FA
I am happy to release my Universal Naked Driver. This is to allow ADB, Fastboot & APX interfaces to work without installing any package much less multiples packages for users with multiple devices. Yes you can just install them and uninstall right away but why bother?
I was annoyed that I couldnt use my Transformer Prime and Galaxy Nexus without having versions and packages trip over each other. My previous post for the Sensation & Galaxy Nexus was helpful so I thought I would bring to XDA the newest Android driver available from source (which they call 4.0) and make it start talking.
Warning: Uninstall any previous driver package's you may have installed and also manually remove drivers by attaching your phone and going to Windows device manager and right click the entry for your phone and select "Uninstall" on the next prompt make sure to select "Delete the driver software for this device" then hit OK and reboot before installing these drivers
Code:
Google Nexus Devices ADB & Fastboot
Samsung Devices ADB & Fastboot
Asus Devices ADB, Fastboot & APX
HTC Devices ADB & Fastboot
Code:
[B]Windows 8 Instructions[/B]
How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8:
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
Enjoy!
Very good idea
Thanks
Your welcome, this was a semi-confusing download at first every package I found just looked like a mess or didn't work with fastboot for some reason.
Then I installed PDAnet and that worked right away but I wanted to use the offical Samsung drivers.
Enjoy!
trouble with XP
I am having a lot of trouble getting this to work with XP at work, anybody had any luck?
No problem with win7 at home though ...
Just wanted to mention that the .dlls in this driver package seem to be more recent (1.9 vs. 1.7):

I used these as well. None of the Samsung driver packages would work with fastboot on my xp x64 machine. Someone had modified the adb source drivers to work with the GNex and these work great.

thanks for the drivers, worked great but when on boot loader ADB does not recognize the device
using windows 7 64
adb = Android Debug Bridge! only use on running Android system or recovery!
in bootloader use "fastboot"
use "fastboot devices" instead of "adb devices"
I will check out the XP issue it should be easy to resolve. I didnt test it out on XP sorry bout that. I will update the OP in the mean time.

Thanks but these are not the Samsung drivers which is why the version number is so different. I extracted these from the most recent package from Samsung that I found.
That being said the drivers you linked will probably work fine but are more generic.
got the drivers to work in XP
I removed all USB drivers from the XP and started to reinstall drivers as needed. Now it works in XP, thanks.

Those drivers are modified from the ADB source drivers that are downloaded by the SDK to support the GNex in fastboot. I havent tried your download yet but i installed the full 1.4.8.0 .exe package i downloaded from Samsung. Those worked except for fastboot which this download worked for me on XP x64. This phone was a PITA to get fastboot working on my laptop.
Where do I unzip the files to?
Anywhere, then when Windows asks where the drivers are point it to the folder where you extracted them to

Correct I had the same issue, when modifying the *.inf I was able to get them working with ADB. Give them a whirl when you get a chance and let me know what you think.
*EDIT* These are not fully working with fast-boot yet but I update as soon as possible.

Any where but in your device manager you will find your phone with no driver, just right click "Update Driver" and point it to where you unzipped it.
It will install the driver for you.

Hello I understand what you mean by 1.7 vs. 1.9 now
**Update**
I have found the fastboot issue and will update v2 soon I just tested on a fwe system with no prior drivers working with ADB and fastboot.
The first set of drivers did not work with fastboot as an FYI. v2 will be the same files just the *.inf will be updated.
Should have it up in a few.

Okay, so I've searched this entire day, literally like the past 13 hours has been spent searching xda kindle fire forums, and googling the hell out of the internet searching for a fix to a situation like mine but have gotten no where! So, if I have somehow missed another thread that has this figured out I am apologizing now, but like I stated before I have tried and tried searching before deciding to post this. Now, moving on to the issue.
My Kindle Fire is stuck at the boot logo. It seems to be in fastboot mode, (4002), but will not go any further. If it is hooked up to the pc, which I'm running Windows 7 64 it will sound as though it connects, the screen will show the kindle fire logo (orange) really brightly btw, then go black with a disconnect sound on the pc then quickly show the logo again, this time dimmer and the reconnect sound on the pc sounds again.
What I did to cause this. I had a Custom CM7 rom on this (I don't remember which), and had this rooted and customized since last January. I remember that TWRP never would come up right (I don't know which version again) unless I reinstalled TWRP everytime I wanted to install a new rom on it using KFU. This time was no different, except I made a stupid mistake. I was trying to reinstall the stock rom 6.3.1 which I downloaded directly from Amazon, put it in the sdcard directory using TWRP and didn't rename it completely, instead only chaning the end to .zip, and not renaming the whole thing as update.zip (not sure if that makes a dif). Anyway, I did a delvik/cache wipe (not a factory reset) and attempted to run the install of the factory rom. Everything seemed fine until it came to the boot logo, and nothing else.
What I've tried so far. I have tried all of this on two seperate pc's using windows 7 64. I have tried the unbrick utility making sure I had the latest and greatest, making sure I tried every which way it has to unbrick it to no avail. I have tried the KFU, again the latest and greatest trying everything IT has to see if any of it would make a difference to no avail, even chaning the bootmode but no matter which mode I try, the Kindle will reboot but stay stuck regardless of whatever I tried after the reboot. I have tried using command prompts to bring up ADB Shell but again, when I run ADB devices it will show up, and the drivers hardware ID's are correct according to all the forums with the drivers listing the Kindle as an ADB android device but when I try to run a shell command it says that no such directory is found or something of the sort. If it doesn't say that than it will simply state that it is waiting for the device, and I do try to disconnect then reconnect the cable at this time, even rebooting the Kindle but it never moves past "waiting for the device". I have tried shorting it by opening the case and putting something metal to the one point and the metal border but the most that did was turn the device off! When I try to turn it on again it simply stays on the boot logo. I have tried the factory cable, and still nothing works! I have changed the script for the driver to make sure it recognized the Kindle but that didn't work either.
I am at the end of my rope here, and I am begging for someone to simply help me who may know exactly what I am going through that knows what to do! I am sorry for the lenghty post, but I figure certain questions will be asked if not for my detailed accounts of what's happened and what I have done to this point. Thank you to anyone reading this and thanks to anyone who replies, you have my gratitude!
Try Soupkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 it will rule out all the formalities of drivers. My guess is that your shell is missing or broken so that factory cable will come in handy. If you want to do without the whole setup try my iso post 7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413358 if you desire assistance I would be happy to help.

If you use my iso Soupkit has already been ran just follow my instructions for creating it . If you choose to do the setup on your own use linux mint mate 13 32 bit or precise pangolin ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 32 bit. 32 bit works on both 32 and 64 bit machines.

I tried using ubuntu 12.04, but the live usb application wouldn't recognize the .iso I got from pbay. It did see the 11.10 version so I went with that instead. Man! Why did I ever not use Ubuntu before!!! Really nice os. Anyway, with that being said, I downloaded SoupKit while on ubuntu like you instruct in your post, but when I click on install.sh I am seeing that it says Soupkit is already installed. So I don't see the prompt to run in terminal. Do I have to uninstall or delete the current occurrence of soupkit on this ubuntu install? Or do I continue on with the setup.sh file located in the soupkit folder? Also, I plugged my fire in while on ubuntu and I don't see a prompt for it to install any drivers, nor do i know how to located usb connected devices (Too used to Windows I guess, lol). Thanks again for you help, and hopefully I'm not sounding like a total noob!
Yeah sorry 11.10 is funky with soupkit during testing I really had to cheat to get a proper install try going with my prefab iso its far more simple and stable enough. I know the download is large that is because of it's own prepacked casper r/w. Drivers do not install on linux rather it is setup as udev rules that configure for a specific device lets just say it's different to avoid going into to much detail. Yes setup.sh is the next run if it doesnt run in terminal but that's not the proper way to run soupkit stick with the distros I recommend. If it doesn't find the distro in the dropdown try unlisted iso if you can`t find the iso when attaching start to fill the name of the iso in it will begin to auto complete.
Ubuntu 12.10?

It will make a difference in how soupkit setup runs if it doesn`t run correctly it causes issues you want it to be as stable as possible. Make sure you drag the slider to add at least 1300 mgs of persistent for saving data between reboots. Once you get this done I can assure you its one of the finest tools to ever grace your kindle Soupmagnet went all out on its creation make sure you stroke his thanks button.

Lemme know when your ready for more testing .
Hi people
I have the GT-I9190 S4 mini running 4.2.2 [not rooted], and am trying to connect to my pc with adb for installing apps etc.
The problem is:
I have enabled debugging on the phone, and when i start adb on the pc and query devices:
Code:
List of devices attached
####### offline
Then I went and googled about this, and a site said that from 4.2 upwards, android will prompt for confirmation whether the connected pc is trustworthy.
My phone did not ask. in fact, while i try anything on adb, my phone does nothing. If i was a phone i would also ask my owner if someone is allowed to poke in my back door but whatever.
to summarise:
adb lists phone as offline, phone doesn't acknowledge adb trying to connect
I think you need to update or reinstall SDK if you are on windows.

i am using the standalone adb that i got here on xda
I think you need a more recent adb, there's a change from 4.2 on, you don't really need full sdk.
I just installed adb on Linux and it works. so its gladly not my device. Can you point me to a minimalistic package of adb
I always install adb on linux with apt-get.
