Can anyone help me optimize my bootanimation? It runs OK,it's that in one moment it freezes and that bothers me - i wonder if it is normal for the phone because he is starting the OS,or is it because the file is too big (40 MB), or some another reason i can fix. I don't take any credit for the animation, i made it from this youtube video:

if someone likes it and wants to use it,i have audio for it too:

BTW, is there a way to somehow let the animation finish and then the phone to start?
I'll appreciate any help.

I've made a new boot animation, and, unlike my last one, it was done in After Effects, so sizing it up for other Android devices shouldn't be too hard. It was inspired by Cyanogen's new boot animation, but I wanted something mod-agnostic. For laffos I've also included a new wallpaper. Bonus points if anyone gets the reference. Sorry to anyone that replied to my last thread, I've been ridiculously busy with school. Hopefully the promise of Evo boot screens is enough to make up for it.
Quick question, for those of you with Evos that may be interested: do you have enough space in /system for a larger boot anim? Getting this one to fit was a bear, but I have many more frames that make it look a lot smoother if there's space to include them.
Anyway, cheers, and I hope you enjoy.

Hello, all. I am a bit stuck on something and hope someone can help me. A while back I modified one of those BIOS boot animations to match the info on my Evo, and today I modified it to reflect my ROM change.
After editing, I got all the separate pictures back together and put them into an uncompressed ZIP file like I did before and put it back in place of the old boot animation, the only trouble is now when the animation runs, it seems like it is going about 2x as fast as it should.
I didn't decrease the number of pictures/frames and when you watch it, the actual animation is going crazy fast. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Here is my new boot animation I have created to go along with the rom I am building. Please let me know what you think. This is just a zip to be renamed and placed in bootanimation.zip place. This is a full 720x1280 boot animation.
Updated! I redesigned to make it much more crisp and less cheesy! Thanks for you input! Please let me know if you like the new animation!

Any screenies?
NEVER MIND..... I SEE IT NOW, I'LL TRY IT
Just tried this out and while I and others surely appreciate your effort in creating this, its just doesn't look good on this device, the animation resolution looks really low. It kinda reminds me of the splash screens from old school keygen apps.

Thanks for your input, I have updated the boot animation so please give it another try. I agree after looking at it some more I wasn't able to get the quality I wanted so I abandoned the original design.

You need to check your frame rate, thats why your animation might be slow,30 is the frame rate in fps (frames per second) i.e. number of images to display per second. The boot animation will play at a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels, at a frame rate of 30 fps, starting with the contents of part0 folder and after playing them in one loop, switching to contents and playing them continuously till the device fully boots.I believe an animation is supposed to last about 23 seconds.
OK i see i already had it at 30 i also split it in to parts part0 part1 part2
I also can't figure out how to make the files smaller i have a optimizer but it made it double in size but when I split it in parts it didn't even play...
