(Q)How to run Dead Trigger on the tegra 3 ('ultra high') graphics? - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

Hey forum,
I have both the SGS3 and the htc one x and ive noticed that the dead trigger game is enhanced for tegra devices in a way that in graphics settings there's an extra setting called 'ultra high' that is enabled by default. I want to be able to play on 'ultra high' on sgs3 too however on the rest of android just 'high' is the best option. Now i've tried to use chainfire 3d app with the tegra plugin and it works in that i can download and install any other tegra-only apps. So i've uninstalled dead trigger and installed it again through market, however i still cant switch the graphics to 'ultra high'. Perhaps i need the correct shaders but i cant find any anywhere.. or maybe im using the chainfire 3d app wrong. Could someone please help me figure it out, it might help that i have a working tegra version on my htc one x but i dont know where to look for an answer.. thanks

You mean your restore one x ver with titanium backup and it work?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

You really shouldn't do that; it might create problems in your ROM. You're better off just modding the file. It takes 2 minutes.

This doesn't seem to work for the new version. The strings listed in that post don't seem to be in my preference file.

New version, meaning the update?

Yea, they released an updated today. I think it also removed that option from the xml file.

F*ck...That pisses me off. I may just take to complaining on their Facebook page. The Galaxy S III is a more capable phone than the One X or any other Tegra 3 phone. This is just anti-competitive.

I'm going to run Titanium Backup to backup my current version and then update. I'll also see if using Chainfire 3D with the Tegra plugin works.

well, you gotta think nvidia is probably paying them money to advertise the whole tegra thing.

Probably? Try definitely. I would've taken the HTC One X instead (since I game heavily) if it weren't for HTC's retarded bootloader lock. The S3 is faster but to me the One X looks better.

I upgraded earlier and I still have all the effects enabled. Didn't have to re edit the file!

I just wanted to report that I made the changes after dead trigger was updated earlier today and it works perfectly.

Really? XML is still there? That's good. I myself made a Titanium Backup then updated, and it's still on Ultra High, which is good.

There are two different versions of the first level that look the same but one has water and the other doesn't.

New free game in Samsung Apps: Krazy Kart Racing!

Nice! Samsung just gave us a new free game! Sadly, it's another racing game. But judging from a quick ride, at least it's not bad.
Go and grab it while it's there! Maybe it was released for free by accident? Someone already made a video:

Umm which part exactly? We'd really appreciate knowing
I'm not experienced here, and I tried modifying some parts of build.prop to reflect a 2.1 build.prop and got stuck in a boot loop! Fortunately I had a backup build.prop and used adb push to fix it xD.
Otherwise, someone dump and share the apk please?

Holy crap, how do you turn off the camera sound!?!?

There is a guide online to edit the local.prop file to not force a camera sound, but, ****, we're not rooted so we can't use it. Anyone!?
Update 09/18: Thanks to the amazing zedomax and his root method, you can create a file called "local.prop" on your phone under the /data/ directory and place the code "ro.camera.sound.forced=0" without the quotes in it and reboot and be good to go. In other words:
1. Create a file called local.prop on your device in /data/.
2. Place the line of code ro.camera.sound.forced=0 in the file local.prop and hit Save.
3. Make sure it's in the /data/ folder.
4. Reboot.
5. Enjoy not having that ****ing shotgun blast in your ear every time you want to snap a photo.
Want to revert to stock? Change the code in the file to ro.camera.sound.forced=1.

I think this is done to comply with Korean and Japanese law that digital camera must have audible sounds to prevent voyeurs from secretly taking pictures. They have tossed this idea around in the States.

Yeah, it is built into the Camera.apk. You have to delete the sound file which can only be done by rooting it.
this is annoying... why do phone makers force this on us?
Seriously... if I wanted to take inappropriate photos, I would make sure to go out of my way to get a camera that had no shutter noise.
This accomplishes nothing but is extremely annoying.
What I was getting at was that instead of having multiple camera apps per country, they just have one universal apk that follows Korean law.

So....will the app automatically send the picture to your email or it requires you to select "auto upload to Google+"? I hope not the second option cuz I HATEEE the way Google+ not letting us deleting the uploaded pictures from our gallery.
I don't make a habit of complaining about permissions. But why do we basically have to give this app control of everything, Skynet style.

i know where is your question coming from - but i have to tell you that you would be surprised how many apps are accessing the same info as this one is. i dont wanna call names - but titanium back up - for example and much more. try LBE privacy guard and find out. almost all GAMELOFT games are asking for emei and even sms log or call log mate/location as well - so i think it will make no difference and if you wanna be able locate your device remotely or even make a pic you have to givea permision to the app providing such a service.
you have to live with it or not use the special "protection"

I loaded this and it works fine on my Galaxy Nexus. The only thing funny is that the pictures seem to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise from the way the phone was being held.
The version of cerberus I used with my GN has an option where the screen goes all white and then snaps a picture with the front camera as soon as the screen is touched.
I also setup Cerberus to email everything to an account that isn't setup on the phone so if the phone is gone, the person holding it can't delete the emails.

Good stuff! I was looking for something like this! Another app you guys may want to try is an app that locks down your apps with a password or pattern. I havent installed one on my Gnex yet but I used one on my EVO (actually, come to think of it, it was native to MIUI).

You've gotta try this!

I'm going to risk posting in the wrong forum in the hopes of getting some more attention on this app...MyScript Notes Mobile. I followed the instructions in this thread and am totally blown away by how functional it makes the Note II. This does require root and a custom recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526433
This app vindicates every hope I had for the S Pen. I can scribble a quick note and export the text straight into GTasks, or a host of other apps. I can write page after page and then convert just the parts I want straight into text by circling it. The management of notebooks and pages is simple and intuitive. I liked S Notes OK, but this is in another class.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHHO--XZlqM
The fun part of this is the fact that S Notes is made by the same company that made this app. There is also talk that this app may show up in the Samsung app store before the end of the year, so those of you that are unwilling to root may get a version of this app, too!

Here's a Note2 safe version of the app to flash. The only difference is that the script is modified and rewritten to accommodate the file system of the Note2 as opposed to the Xoom, which it was originally written for. Basically, this version is tested and set up for the Note2 specifically.

Installed fine, but the wheel that you use to convert text is missing. Actually, it is there, I just cannot see it. Also, the first couple of characters are a very heavy pen weight, but then it gets real thin.
Just backed up all apps with TiBu and planning on a factory reset to try again.

It's the same thing in the Xoom version. The only difference here is the script isn't formatting your caches to yaffs.
