[Q] Whos case is best

OK the HTC ARIA has been around for a while now and one of the most pertinent objectives is screen protection. That having been said I think it's a good idea to poll people to find what cases and screen protectors have been handeling the masses needs.
I will put my 2 cents in here, starting the poll.
My daughters ARIA started out w/ a Zagg screen protector and Amizer case. Much to my chagrin the case fell apart. She never told me and the first time she dropped it, the screen shattered (though the Zagg screen protector did keep it in place) It's being replaced now and I hope to have a different one when she gets it back. I look forward to your thoughts and purchases. Good bad or indifferent

My opinions:
The Aria is at its best without a case - it feels great in the hand and looks nice too.
I have a case I use occasionally. It is a TPU HTC-branded skin-like cover. It was less than $10 at Amazon, and fits perfectly. It only covers the back and sides, with cutouts for all the Aria external connections/controls. It makes the phone a bit more bulky, but it is about as thin as you can get. Slightly covers the edges where the glass screen meets the back
I don't use a screen protector (like Zagg). I'm tempted, but with a glass screen, I don't know how much it'll get scratched without one.
Again, just my opinions...

I too wouldn't bother with a case for this phone, I really don't see the need.
I would always use a screen protector. I know these screens are glass (even Gorilla Glass I think?) but they are not impervious to damage. You just know the first time it slips out of your hand and goes skating down the asphalt you are gonna wish you had one on because it WILL leave scratches!
As far as screen protectors go, I've used 'em all over the years and firmly believe the 'wet apply' ones like Zagg are the best. However, out of this style of screen protector I think Zagg is the worst - thick and rubbery and will give you orange-peel effect.

The amzer case is really good if you have a screen protector. It kind of leaves indents on my Aria, so I don't know if it'll scratch the glass. Best to get a screen protector regardless.
People say the case sucks because it's hard to take off, but theres a trick to it, just pull from the bottom left edge of the front frame. I've dropped my Aria almost 12 times. Still perfect, Its been 6 months. The matte finish does get worn though.

The materials are the same- imported high quality optical PET. These are just customized to fit the SGSII (i9100 version for now, we will be getting US carrier variants later on). This is a dry application screen protector.
This time we would like to see more comprehensive reviews. Something like this with pictures:

Installation:
Handy set of instructions. Protector went on without any problems. I used a credit card as suggested to get rid of the air bubbles, which worked out very very well. This installation method is much much easier (and safer?) than Zagg, and similar to other adhesive-type protectors.
Fit:
The protector is cut slightly smaller than the size of the glass. My alignment was spot on, so I don't have any air bubbles around the edges, but there is probably a 1mm (or less) gap around the outside of the protector, which in my opinion is the perfect fit. The cutout for the front camera also is perfect.
Feel:
The protector offers minor friction for fingers. Initially my hands were very clean from the application process, and therefore were not leaving any finger prints. I have since used the TF for a few days, and even let a baby with greasy hands play with it, and the fingerprints/smudges were a minimum. In summary: the protector feels VERY GOOD and appears to cut down fingerprints like crazy. For me, this protector is better than just the glass, and much much better than the protector I had before (I had some 3 for $10 ebay style protector.. it was garbage). This protector is on par with Zagg protectors and their lack of fingerprints (for those who have used them).
Look:
Its hard to tell that there's even a protector on except for a few pieces of dust. Glare is reduced, colors don't seem to be affected. The protector I had before this one was much worse for letting the true colors through. Everything was faded and coarsened (dunno how to best describe that, but it looked bad). All in all, this one looks as good as no protector, with added benefit of reduced glare and minimal fingerprints.
Overall:
Most of my protector experience is with Zagg protectors; on a Nook Color, galaxy s and iPhone. I didn't want to have to fight with putting a Zagg on for a screen the size of the TF, so I have been looking for alternatives. If this protector is competitively priced then imo its one of the better ones for the TF. I once tried a skinomi for a G-tablet, and that thing was a complete waste of money.
Pending price, would get another one of these.

I´m using an Ultra Crystal Clear atm so I would be able to compare them.

I just got the ProFilm for the SGS2 and put it on. Previously I was using Power Support's Anti-Glare, and I've also used SGP's Ultra Crystal before that (& a bunch of no name SPs in between). Since I've literally *just* put this on, I'll just give my initial impressions. I didn't take many photos beyond the initial opening of the package but I'll definitely do so in my follow-up.
Packaging: It came in an envelope via USPS First Class International. Inside was just a set of handy instructions and the screen protector itself, a no fuss affair. If/when this is on the market, I'd recommend bundling it with the standard microfiber cloth but since this is for testing & reviews, I'm not complaining.

Screen Protector: It came with 2 pieces of backing plastic, but there was no confusion whatsoever about which to take off first as they were labelled numerically and the instructions on the piece of paper was clear.
The screen protector is pretty thin but not to the point of being flimsy, though it's definitely thinner than the SGP Ultra Crystal and Power Support Anti-Glare, so I would assume it's a little lacking in terms of hardness. It's well-cut, with holes of the right size and at the right position for the speaker grill, front camera (U-shaped cut, not a circular cut) and home button. There's very little space between the edge of the screen protector and the chrome rim of the phone, perhaps 1mm or less. Very good fit. It's of a matte finish, designed to reduce glare under bright lights or the Sun. It's night time right now so I'll add on to this review after a few days re: glare and such.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's standard or perhaps just the one that I got but I noticed micro-scratches on the screen protector after I'd applied it and I've only touched it with scotch tape and a microfiber cloth. You can't see it when the screen is on but if you scrutinise it from certain angles when the screen is off, you can definitely see it.
Application: Okay I'm not inexperienced with applying Screen Protectors (I've applied numerous times on my phone, my brother's HTC Sensation, my dad's Galaxy S Wifi 5.0 or the Galaxy Player as it's known in the USA, and so on) but this was by far the hardest I've yet to apply. This is in part due to the perfect cut of the screen protector; it took me a long time to align the SP well enough for the anal, OCD part of me to stop screaming in my head. While I am a fan of the fit, it does take quite a bit of effort to align it (or it could just be me).
Plastic backings come off easily, no fuss there. Bubbles are rubbed away easily as well, and any artifacts you may find trapped under the SP during application is easily removed with some tape. I didn't use a credit card or squeegee, just pushed it down onto the screen and it flowed on and stayed there easily. Very easy to apply (once you align it).
Usage: First thing I noticed after I turned the screen on was that this screen protector gave me more light and clarity than the Power Support Anti-glare I was using; it was obvious to me 'cause my eyes hurt from the sudden increase in brightness (no settings were tweaked, phone's always on lowest brightness). I would say that in terms of light passing through and clarity, it's almost as good as SGP's Ultra Crystal, which is a clear protector, not matte.
Touch-wise, though, I could feel a fair bit more friction compared to Power Support's AG; it definitely lacks the powdery smooth feeling I had there. I haven't played any games yet so I'll update again with more details. Just feels a bit squeaky right now.
Initial conclusion: The ProFilm seems to be trying to combine the best of both worlds in bringing the clarity of clear protectors to matte ones. (Sidenote: I'd love to have someone familiar with the 3M Estoc+ review this as well and compare them as this balance brings to mind the lauded Estoc+.) It's too early for me to judge yet, so I'll withhold doing so until I've had more time with this. But from my impressions, it seems promising!

I have the Estoc. Problem is, even after more then a month, it's still not "ruined" yet. Not as clear as the day I first applied it (now with some microscratches) but nothing severe enough that I'd wanna take it off.
So, I can't risk taking it off to test this lol (I might ruin it, and the Estocs ain't exactly cheap).
But if the TS has a Profilm cut for the iPhone 4 (or the BB Torch, which has crap protector choices really), I'll be glad to try and compare.

All the units I've sent out are samples. We will be including the microfiber cloth in the retail package for sure. A thin but sturdy cardboard piece will be used to prevent package from being bent. Screen protector will be wrapped in a clear biodegradable plastic bag. All texts will be printed with soy ink.

Make sure to peel off both sheets labeled 1 and 2. The actual protector is wrapped between them. Unless it's a manufacture defect (unlikely as I manually inspected them before mailing), the screen protector should provide ample protection against pretty much everything. I redid the stress test with different sharp objects, really scratched and drilled hard with scissors. This series is finished in matte but preserves the transmittance and clarity of a "clear" type. I believe this is the best type of film for screens. Personally, clear types were too bright with factory settings and PROFILM's matte finish tones it down a little bit. Here are the specs, a few % deviation for different products:
Haze: 6±2%
Luminosity/Transparency: 94±3%
Material: High Quality PET
Thickness (µm): 50µm/100µm

Closest alternative to PowerSupport screen protectors

I know there is a thread made on the 16th that basically touches on this question, but doesn't really answer it. I work for Apple and have fallen in love with the Power Support screen protectors. The only problem is they are only available for Apple devices. I've done a lot of searching for a close alternative with no conclusive results. I was going to go with an SGP Oleophobic but a little more research has me thinking that I'll be disappointed. SGP's Ultra Crystal line seems like it could be close but they aren't available yet.
Can someone who has experience with Power Support protectors tell me if there is anything that comes even remotely close? I don't care if its wet or dry install, I just want it to look/feel/function similarly.
EDIT: If you are thinking of replying with "haven't you seen the 'key scratch test?'," or "I don't like screen protectors on my phones, why do you?," or anything that doesn't have to do with the question, don't bother responding. I'm not wondering "if" I should get one, so there is no need to respond like I am.

What a terrible comment. Not only is it NOT easy to replace the screen, it's not going to be cost effective at all. You could buy 50 screen protectors and still not be close to the same cost as replacing the screen.

Sadly OP, I dont think you'll find anything near the powersupport quality. I work for a certain someone too, putting on at least 15 powersupports a day for no extra charge (perfectly, I might add) and I absolutely love the finish it gives the iPhone.
After 3 days of no screen protector, I finally went to a VZW corporate store today and splurged on the 3-pack of crystal clear protectors. The value was pretty good, 3 great protectors for only $13 (around $8 with a corp. discount). They are not antiglare (I hear those for the GNex suck), but they definitely are not very noticeable.
My only gripes are that the protector does not go all the way to each side (which is not vzw's fault, and is easily remedied by a case) and the fact that it causes an extremely slight rainbow if the phone is tilted at a 80 degree angle or so. But then again, whenever i use my phone its at a straight angle to my face, so i never notice it unless i'm trying.

I've extensively used Power Support films for my Apple phones and am a big fan of the clear protectors. I've used SGP as an alternate for my Android phones and have also used a few of their films for iPhones. I feel like the general film quality is comparable between SGP and Power Support, although I do prefer Power Support. In my experience, the Ultra Crystal is the closest product that SGP has to the Power Support clear films. I have used the Ultra Oleophobic, which I think is also close, but does seem to have noticeably increased friction over Power Support. Despite what you might think, I find that the oleophobic have an odd tendency to keep certain smudges and can require a little effort to get completely spotless. I usually use a microfiber cloth to wipe mine.
I am currently using an Ultra Oleophobic screen protector on my Galaxy Nexus. As has been noted on other threads, it does not cover the entire face of the phone. Although I mentioned a few of the negatives that I perceived in the film, I am still generally happy with its performance outside of the reduced size. To me, the quality of the film itself is markedly better than that of cheaper alternatives.
Although I cannot personally vouch for it, the reputation of Martin Fields is that they produce screen protectors comparable in quality to Power Support. They appear to now carry a product for the Galaxy Nexus front face and rear camera lens. My anecdotal experience with the company has been that I placed one order with them but never received the product. I never tried them again. I know that some reputable third-party resellers, like Expansys, carry their products and you may have better luck with them than shopping direct.
I believe that Power Support, SGP and Martin Fields all use similar Japanese produced base film material.
I have never used a wet film so I cannot make a comparison.
As an aside, the only instance in which I prefer SGP to Power Support is for their matte films (which I generally do not care for.) I find the Ultra Optics to be a better matte film than the Power Support anti-fingerprint film. I have used both on iPhones.

I like the powersupport protectors too. Always used them on my wife's iphone 3g and i was pissed when every apple store within 50 miles of dallas was out of them when we got her new iphone 4. I settled for an ifrogz they sold at the att store and she likes it just as much. Problem with my GNex is i have yet to find a dry apply protector that properly fits the curved screen. I have a Zagg on currently but i hate it....way too much orange peel. I also have a clear-coat and an sgp flex that were delivered today. They both appear to have less orange peel than the zagg but i havent tried either yet. Still....none compare to the powersupport. Bummer.

Tech Armor Screen Protector

Just got my GS3 a week ago and I love everything about it so far. However, I'm starting to think I'll need a screen protector for it. Just for convenience I searched on Amazon and came across Tech Armor's screen protector. It has good reviews but other than the reviews on Amazon haven't been able to find more information about it.
Has anyone tried this sp out yet to get some insight from? Doing research on others but interested in learning more about Tech Armor products.

I literally just applied one. It went on fine. Just FYI - it does not cover the entire screen. It's edges are trimmed to the home button and top cameras and span a millimeter or so past the screen to either side. I'd definitely use it again especially as the 3-pack is under $10 shipped.

i was looking at those too... i was initially impressed with the reviews but then realized this was the only product those people ever reviewed.
Maybe i'm just jaded but 6 5 star reviews by people who've never reviewed anything else seems a little fishy to me.

Great to hear! Have you heard of the SGP curved crystal that's going to be coming out soon? Wondering if I should wait for that or try this one out.

I ended up ordering both the anti-glare and the clear, but i don't have the sgs3 yet. Has anyone else tried the techarmor? I might just return them if I did get screwed by the 10 amazon reviews....

I have the HD clear one from tech amor and it works great....doesnt affect screen quality at all and easy to apply, comes with three screens and a lifetife warranty so you cant go wrong!

Ok, well I guess I'm only out the $14 if they are terrible. I will post my discoveries once I get my SGS3.

I purchased the Tech Armor anti-glare and anti-fingerprint screen protector from Amazon for ~$10. It was really easy to apply and it does the job. My only gripe is that it degrades the screen quality by a little, but it was worth the $10.

I have this and it's a good screen protector. You get three which is good but some of my corners are starting to peel a little.

What's the point of screen protectors with Gorilla Glass? I mean the screen won't scratch, it will shatter, which a protector won't stop. So, what's the point?

It's still glass and it still is most certainly prone to scratches, scuffs, nicks, dings, and dents. Honestly, I can sleep more sound at night knowing I have just one more layer of protection on my $600+ device.
For the record, my girlfriend purchased these screen protectors for her S3 and she is extremely disappointed with how much the protector cuts down on vibrant colors and light from the screen.

I bought these anti-glare/anti-finger print ones that come in a 3 pack for about $10. I think they are ok as far as fit and stickability goes, but imo they make the beautiful screen turn into a fuzzy rainbow blurry piece of crap. I am returning mine and buying something else. I've only seen one other phone that had a screen protector looking this bad.

I have the clear. It's good. Like other clear screen protectors oil, smudges, and fingerprints will show up.

I think all anti-fingerprint screen protectors reduce the display quality. I believe the matte finish that reduces fingerprints is slightly raised throughout and the lack of a smooth finish is what reduces the fingerprints but at the same time reduces the screen quality. I used Steinheil anti-fingerprint screen protectors on my Captivate and I was more than willing to compromise the screen quality for the lack of fingerprints. I couldn't find them for my S3 so I ordered the Tech Armor ones which will arrive this coming week. I don't watch videos/play games so I'm no doubt not as critical of the screen quality as someone that does.
Unless you're one to constantly clean your screen IMO the fingerprints reduce the screen quality way more than the anti-fingerprint protectors. My Captivate rarely needed the screen cleaned (virtually zero fingerprints) and I'm hoping the same is true for the Tech Armor protectors. When I'm in the field using an Excel spreadsheet with a client I don't want to have to constantly clean the screen so they can clearly see it. I'll settle for little/no fingerprints and the ability to see the screen albeit at a reduced quality every time.

Based on this review. I grabbed one ff these kits from amazon and installed today. Very pleased with the product and installation was a breeze.

Wouldn't know about those. Had one of those cheapo 3x for $1 off ebay and have nothing really bad to say about them. Also got them replaced later by the one that came with my UAG urban armor case and i find it slightly better, specially when applying. Just not sure if it's worth the difference.
Anyway, it's good to see that tech armor has great customer support that will even bother to reply here in xda. That's something most companies overlook and i'll easily pay extra for.

I've made a review on the iPhone 5 Tech Armor HD screen protector and I wanted to share my experience here. I've only used ZAGG and Ghost Armor before I've tried this and I must say that I prefer Tech Armor much more over those 2 brands. The feel of the screen protector is much better and when I give my phone to other people to use, they don't even notice the screen protector is there. So the quality of the screen protector is there.
On top of that, I noticed some imperfections on the screen protector, it seemed that there were some small scratches on the protector itself and it started to peel a little. I informed Tech Armor of my problem and they sent me 3 more for free. So customer service is also there when it comes to Tech Armor.
I've never purchased Clarivue or SGP before so I can't comment on the clarity/feel versus those two brands, but if anyone has input on that, I'd be interested to hear what it is. I found this thread by searching Tech Armor and there doesn't seem to be many forum posts on this company and I'm currently in the market to see what screen is the best for my Nexus 4 (I know this is the S3 thread).

tempered glass screen protectors

Okay. Here it is. We can start the debate soon about which screen protectors actually work on this phone without Halo and bubble issues. It is always an issue with these curved glass screens but there are always 1 or 2 screen protectors that people can get to actually work. Please post which ones you have purchased and how well they worked.
Posting without pictures is not helpful to anyone.

Ordered the ones through Amazon from Mr. Shields and the case/protector from HanhuaTech. The Mr. Shields order gave me 3 and all 3 were nothing but bubbles. Never used their stuff before and highly disappointed. The latter was a nice case, but the screen protector has a black ring around the edges and is impossible to line-up so it doesn't cover the edges of the display area. No bubbles though. Just cut off part of my screen. Still looking. The Otterbox Defender does not include a screen protector.

I tried those Mr shield protectors with my v30 and they were garbage.
The supershieldz worked well with my v30 but the v40 version has that stupid black border which means it only has adhesive at the edges and will have the rainbow effect

Guess we're all screwed for a bit. For what this thing costs, I refuse not to have the tempered glass protector, but they all have the black ring or bubbles. Early adopter blues I guess.

Curved screens, like the V40 (and pretty much every flagship phone) have tend to have poor tempered glass adhesion, in my experience. It seems they all utilize only adhesive along the outer edge, leading them to come unstuck extremely quickly and easily. All of the reviewed models on Amazon, likewise, have this problem. Hopefully a good one will come out for this phone at some point reasonably soon.
I know that T-Mobile tried to sell me an overpriced one when I purchased my phone, though I'm not certain they had any in stock yet. If no models come out that stay stuck pretty well, I will take purchase one of theirs, as they will replace it every time I come in the store.

Be patient and wait for IQ Shield LiQuidSkin, best on the market for curved screens. Available mid Nov.

I quite enjoy the bodyguardz one I got. It's aluminosilicate like gorilla glass and does have the black border, however I've seen 0 rainbowing. Also comes with lifetime replacements which I will probably thoroughly abuse.

I just ordered a set right from their website. It didn't list that it wasn't in stock and ready to ship, so we'll see!

Don't rush! The earlier you get it, the bigger the risk it's not properly tested yet (especially when it comes to curved screens). This early after release, you're the guinea pig...

I ordered the Poetic tempered glass screen protector. Works like a charm. 3 Days and still sticking no problem. No halo, rainbow effect, etc. Absolutely loving it. Fit is amazing and the feel is as good as the original glass, if not slicker. I'm using it with a Ringke Fusion-X case and they work perfectly together. The screen protector is case friendly and the gap between the glass and case is very minimal.

I know PULEN hasn't got very good reviews, but for now, while waiting for LiQuidSkin, it's all good, fits almost perfect. Nothing I recommend though. The black frame covers a faction of the visibility of the screen (left and right side)
But totally OK. Let's see if it falls off before I get my LiQuidSkin?

I was just looking at the poetic glass on Amazon and can't seem to find a good enough review that specifies it the tempered glass fully seals to the device or only seals around the edges of the glass?

Just heard from Whitestone email support that they do not currently plan on producing Dome Glass for the V40... real shame. Maybe some other V40 owners can chime in to pique their interest?
I was also just looking at the Poetic before I came over here, and also wonder if it is in fact full-adhesive. Anyone?

I've been looking at that but but I'm in high doubts it's full adhesive

I just installed the Poetic tempered glass from Amazon and it has a massive rainbow effect. There clearly isn't any adhesive in the middle. Until someone makes a decent one it will have to do.

Dang, it seems so difficult to find good tempered glass screen protectors. Poetic seemed promising but glad you confirmed it is not full adhesive, since so many brands don't specify.

Update!
Amid medium level reviews on Amazon, I have to say I'm surprised this pulen sp is working so well. Some kind of drier than normal glue, covers the whole sp, and if you place it perfectly, it's actually a very nice sp. The black frame slightly covers (1/10 of a mm) of left and right sides, but it really doesn't take away anything, not even the screen off blue notification around the frame. I'm not sure about the physical strength though. I'm a very careful person, never really drop my phone. No rainbow! No dust stuck around the borders. Right now I'm not sure I will order the liQuidSkin? I'm happy with this one

I'm using Key liquid glass screen protector. I can't stand the film protectors so decided to use this. It's a wipe on application, scratch resistant, 9H superior hardness rating, water proof and anti bacterial. Just clean the screen with the included cleaning wipe than apply the liquid screen protector via the included wipe. Let sit for about 5 minutes and you're set.
