Hi all
I have just tried to install an app from the market and im getting an error
"[Name of app] could not be downloaded due to an error (492)"
It was fine last night downloading stuff but now out of the blue this happens!
Did you try removing your Google account and re-adding it?
You get that when your connection is not strong enough... I get it sometimes... It should work later.

I get a message saying that if i want to remove my google account from my phone i have to do a factory reset..I would rather not :/
Still getting the error and no fix for it?
Try clearing PlayStore's cache.. Settings/Apps and try downloading again. If that alone did not solve it, you might have to reboot into Recovery to Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache too.
Hope it helps.
Cheers.

You can try this,
Go to manage applications>google play>clear data.
again go to,
Manage applications>google services framework>clear data.
now reboot your device and wait for at least 10 minuets, then try downloading your app.
Nope, no luck
looks like its time to pull out a nandroid from a while ago :/

Are you trying to download android apps to an iPad or with an iPad? If your downloading them to a HTC wildfire then use the play store app on the HTC wildfire. If your trying to get apps for your iPad you need to use the apple app store as android-apple apps are not cross compatible.

im afraid that is not possible. the only apps that will ever work on your apple ipad will be apple apps from their "app market".
The apps from google play will only run on an android device, which your ipad is not. sorry pal, but thats like trying to use an inflatable rubber ring for a spare car Tyre, it just wont work... (no offense )

I installed it without any problems. If you have issues installing the 4.4.0 update, first uninstall Google Maps and then install it from the Market application.

yeah same here no issues but in order for places to showup in programs u need to restart.
I noticed lattitude has also made an appearance on the menu too.
I think they need to update the Places app though. By clicking on "Gas Stations", i am given results for companies that sell bottled gas, not petrol or diesel. By clicking on ATMs, i am given a recovery company 20 miles from me, not cash machines.
I had no problems installing on Froyo/Sense MCR6.
Regards,
Dave

Turn the phone off and on again then check the menu and "Places" will be listed in with the rest of your apps.

I tried to install the latest version of Google music (4.1.512) on my desire but with no success.
I tried from a downloaded APK and from market app (with market enabler help) and it shows always this error: "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previews copy of the app and try again."
The installed version is 4.0.1.501 and I'm using the Mildwild CM 3.1.
Thank you.
And did you uninstall the.previous version? To update from 4.0.1 I had to uninstall.
4.1.x was crap though. As soon as I lost signal, music stopped. It didn't cache even though selected. Downgraded ASAP

OP - that happens coz 4.0 is beta if I'm not mistaken.

The installed version will already be part of the ROM so you will need ES File Explorer (Or equivalent with root access and /SYSTEM write) to browse to /SYSTEM/APP/ and remove it.
Once removed reboot your phone and then install the APK and it shouldn't say you need to remove the previous version.
To install the APK just copy it to your SD card and install via ES File Explorer (or equivalent) and it should work. If it moans and says install failed you might need to sign the APK using APK manager or APK multi tool.

No. Install market enabler first. Fake a us provider. Google music will be available. But uninstall the 4.0 version first (make a backup before uninstalling).
So it works for everyone else then? I'm skeptical. Did anyone actually test?

I've put this version on my rom and it seems to be working fine. I don't listen to that much music to be honest but it played fine, no skipping or locking up or anything like that. Not sure if I lost my signal at any point though.

That could be the reason. I downloaded that version but never used it so I would say give this version a go and see. It seems fine to me.

There is a few work a rounds for this and it is different for different people.
1.go to sync, then Google. Click to unsync Google mail and click to sync again.
2. Go into all applications, find Google services framework or something like that and clear all of it's data.
3. This is known to work less but just try hitting install repeatedly and it MIGHT work.
Hope I helped.

Ok just wanted to spread a little of the bacon bits of awesomeness that is titanium backup.
I have been going through page by page just like you gents with the other jazz see?!
Well here are the bits that worked for me.
Spec:
Motorola droid3
At&t
Jail-B
Custom ROM : Maverick 4.5
I went and "Goggled a special build of TB.
next I found the opposite of "the lock" to download.
Once fixed, up and running got to Restore/install tab on the top.
find google play and the "Google services"
Wipe the data for both and then delete them.
Find a new ask to download and replace the old ones.
Once finished say yes to the prompts and go reload your Apps!
Hope it helps, if it dose; good!
If it doesn't your grounded go to your room!
