[Q] first time root/s-off/recovery and something is not right

i dont know exactly whats happened here, but i've tried to get my WFS sorted with a different rom than the carriers bloated version.
what i've done is updated hboot to 1.08.0099 and unlocked the boot loader sucessfully (hboot has *** UNLOCKED *** across the top; i used the HTCDEV.com process).
i believe i've got permanent root too.
when i attempt to flash CWM (via PG76IMG.zip), it appears to flash ok, but if i reboot the phone and try to access recovery, it just gets stuck on a white HTC screen.
i've redownloaded the CWM file to see if it's a corrupt download, but still the same problem.
CWM isnt a big issue, although it is nice to have.
however i also am unable to flash another rom either via the PG76IMG.zip SD method, or RUU.
i beleive i've done everything right, and i'm not entirely new to unlocking/rooting devices; only did my HTC Desire last week so the general process is still new in my head.
If your rooted install rom manager and flash recovery from there.
I had problems installing cwm from sd, so used the tool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431969
previously was this one mediafire.com/?b0bsb4ms4lo714b
just plug the usb in sync and folow the instructions

Stuck in WFS Recovery (White HTC Logo)

It all goes like this - I wanted to root my WPS to solve space problem, although, there was a solution for it without rooting, I figured I will be wanting to use some apps that need root access and some roms sooner or later.
So I did a search and found few ways to root my phone. Being a lazy ass I decided to use "the simple" one click solutions - gingerbreak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765) or Root Unlocker (http://www.unlockroot.com/) This was no success. Gingerbreak kept rooting when I launched the app, but Root Unlocker displayed " FAIL TO GET SHELL ROOT". I figured that problem with Gingerbeak might be that I updated the software to the latest version -
Then I went on and tried another tutorial(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275). Everything was fine till I selected Recovery from bootloader. It got stuck with white HTC logo. Took out the battery tried to use newer version of ClockworkMod Recovery, but still was a no-go. I also can't do a factory restart. I can't do it from bootloader or settings > SD & phone storage > Factory data reset. (But could do it at first. Before trying to root my device I did a factory reset once.)
Is there a way to use another Recovery (not CMR) or force Recovery from fastboot? As I found there are some other people that got stuck with similar problem.
Other problems:
My phone doesn't show up in HTC Sync. Althought, when I tipe adb devices in cmd, it shows up. I did turn my AntiVirus off when I installed HTC Sync, but it still didn't display my phone.
Here are my specs:
Model HTC Wildfire S A510e
It shows Marvel in bootloader.
Phone was S-OFF when I bought it.
Android 2.3.5
HTC Sence 2.1
Software number 2.26.401.3
I bought my phone without a contract from a local internet shop. I am from Baltics.
The phone might be somewhere from Europe.
My bet would be Poland. (guessing that manual language is Polish, but I might be wrong)
Thanks in advance.

[Q] HTC Desire HD won't boot after an rooting-attempt

Hello everyone,
I have recently tried to root my phone (HTC Desire HD, no branding, bought in Germany) and it appears that I have messed it all up. I tried to root it using hack-ace.cmd. What first happened is, sinc my phone was running the latest stock ROM (2.3.5) the Hack-ace.cmd said this Android Version can't be rooted and therefore must be downgraded... And so it did downgrade... The phone started up as normal with the new (old) Android-Version. Then I ran the root thing one more time, it said root was complete but my phone still said S-On. Having said that, it seems that the rooting wasn't successful... This not being such a tragedy for me, I gave up the whole deal with rooting or installing custom rooms and all that... But here it comes... My phone won't boot at all anymore. I can manage to get in the Recovery Mode ( vol. down + power button) and I get the options Fastboot, Recovery, Factory Reset etc.. However, none of it works. When I select Recovery or Factory Reset the HTC Logo shows up, fades out and the only thing I can see is the backlight on a black background. Forever. Can this be fixed somehow, I've tried a RSS.exe with the latest android for my phone but I suppose it needs to be booted in at least some other Android to get the job done. It tells me phone not detected.
For your help I'll be very thankfull!
Like the AAHK website clearly states, it is retired. The files it needs to use to downgrade are no longer hosted on the AAHK server. Is your bootloader very slow? If not, you could try running a compatible 2.3.5 RUU to put your phone back to the way it was. You could also try to root with the Easy Ace Root Tool if you still want root. If your bootloader is very slow, look for the IAMADUMBASS fix on the AAHK website.

Thank you for your answer... I tried going over the IAMADUMBASS (very catchy name), which didn't solve my problem, since I couldnt get the command prompt to find my phone, but then it made me realise the difference between fastboot and the other option was... so i ran the RUU in fastboot mode and the ROM got restored, so it is now all perfect!
Urgent help needed

htc one m8s problems getting recovery of factory reset to run at all

Hi,
New to here but have found so resourceful information throught the forum.
I've tried root my Htc one M8s iternational model I'm from ireland but have run into problems along the way.
As its a M8s it doesnt have the fastboot off setting in the battery options. Ive been using the Hasoon2000 all i n one kit to try root the device. So far I've successfully unlocked the bootloader through the steps on htc derv. I've gone on to install the twrp custom recovery through the tool kit which it says was a a success. Ive put the supersu zip in the phone also. When i put the phone into the Bootloader screen and try to load the custom recovery all the phone does is reboot to a black screen with a red light in the speaker flashing. If i try to do a factory reset i also get the same result.
i'm sort of stuck at this point because im new the process of rooting and could do with a little help if anyone has any ideas to why the phone is doing this.
You can NOT flash stuff that's meant for the M8 !

Recovery Issue

Hey
So i have this phone HTC DESIRE 816 ASIA dual sim and i am so new to htc because this was my dad's phone. As soon as i had my hands on it, i chose to root it and have super user access. I have successfully unlocked the bootloader but the rooting process was not so successful. I had also managed to install twrp recovery.
But now i cant install ota updates because it boots into twrp and not into stock recovery. So i tried to install stock recovery i got from one of htc desire 816 dual sim thread and tried installing it and locked the bootloader.
Now the problem is, bootloader status is 'relocked', phone's software is 'modified' and entering recovery forces me into a red triangle screen deadend.
Help me to overcome this so that i can have my ota updates install again. A step by step help will be great, because i am so bad at this stuff.
Also how do i unlock bootloader again when i have relocked it. ??
Every help will be appreciated..
