I am a newbie to one x previously had a HTC salsa, unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM,now which is the best CM9 Rom round the town without any bugs?those who have flashed any cm9 Rom can tell their experience
....

You can go for TripNRaVeRs Undeavour Unleashed, he's been active with CM9 for One X the longest Some bugs remain, but it's stable enough for daily.

They're all good.
They've all got minor bugs.
I suggest you do some reading and flashing and see what you think.

Any repacked custom kernels???

Have found stock kernel to be the best
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

If you are gonna install Trip's CM9 Rom,I would recommend "franco kernel r12"!

Using Trip's ROM with the stock kernel and it's a beautiful mixture.

I'm using Cm9.0.0-RCO-endeavoru-tripNRaver and kernal version 2.6.39.4-g86aa44d and everything is pretty much working except I have lost the use of cwm (can't boot into it), camera is buggy, can't get any Google apps to work, have even tried just installing the .APk for gplay. Just force closes, have no option to sync my Google account in mail, calendar, contacts and have tried flashing the gapps through cmd but has no affect... Other than that, I can make calls, send texts, browse the web . And wifi tether not working but that was mentioned anyway. Is there an updated version that fixes these problems? I love the rom though. Great aesthetics and functionality

I've found paranoidandroid the most fun to use and its capable of being a daily driver. Battery life is pretty good also.

+1.
Its nice to have a good looking rom not based on sense or cartoon characters.

So everything works now except for the camera, force closes when taking a picture of a person, doesn't do it when taking "non people" pictures. Does the camera on trips cm9 work properly for anyone? Am using the 017 version.

Fm radio app

I noticed the htc sense virtuous rom had an fm radio app, but I prefer cyanogen mod rom, is there any way I can get that app installed on my cyanogen rom?
I tried saving the apk from the system app folder on to my sd card, but in cyanogen it said the app couldn't be installed. And I already had "install from unknown sources" checked off in the settings.
Thanks for the help.

This has been discussed already. It hasn't been implimented in CM yet. Hopefully in the final build.

This is typical you from looking at your post history. I really wish XDA had a way to block users. There are some that are just a waste of everyone's time.
edit : dug some more, and it actually does. If you go to the asshat's profile that you want to block, underneath the "user list" there is an ignore option. Sweet.
Please stop the flaming in here
You can understand the response though. CM is amazing... If you don't like it, stay stock and rooted...

What he said.. Each are varying with what works and what does not. I am running CM10 on my main phone, its not bug free but I dont have any huge major issues. CM9 improves on some things but not everything. The only ones I would personally call rock solid are the CM7 builds.
Want stable use phone daily for nav and tether also what's best way to backup my Rom now ?

You're not being very forthcoming with your setup. Assuming you are already rooted...You can back up apps with titanium backup. You can back up the rom with your recovery (cwm, twrp, ext, etc...). For nav, any rom will do. For tether, it depends on if you want to use the built in CM tether, or a market app. I believe the CM7 roms have the built in tether working. CM9 and CM10 may require the use of an app like barnacle for tethering. Stability is in the eye of the beholder, but generally the CM7 roms will be most stable since they have "better" kernel source.
My real suggestion...spend some time reading around the threads because you are the only one that can really decide what will work best for you.
Okay sorry I was not very specific but yes I am rooted on android 2.3!4 and I just want make sure I have a good alternative to stock maybe with better performance to keep my itch for a new phone away

You could forgo CM all together and try UKB, its a great ROM and Nitsuj keeps it up to date.....

CM10 unofficial
I have always been a CM fan from my OG Droid days.
For backing up I tend to allow google to keep my apps up to date after a fresh install. (I feel like google owns me at this point anyway) I dont use Titanium much now. I do back up my SMS messages though with SMS restore.
For the Inc 2 i think CM9 is fairly fast, has FFC, is mostly stable, and i WAS able to tether with the stock app. A good option
But I use CM10 consistently at this point because 1. It is visibly faster than CM9 and 2. I am now hooked on google now. Its pretty awesome even though i have seriously considered reverting back to CM9 for the FFC (google hangouts and skype video calls worked for me well)
I would check out aeroevan's v13 kernel and 20120821-unofficial for a good option.
Okay I now a lot about Android but I'm lost for a second now what is ffc ?
Sorry I got it now
Okay so yes I just need to have everything backed up with my stock Rom
Anyone ever used uniflash ?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
CM
If you want absolute stability and everything to work (including proper audio and camera) I would recommend cm7.2
If newer features like google now matter more, I would use cm10, aeroevans build is getting very good. Some issues with audio, with some workarounds, there are details in dev forms here and on rootwiki.
I still use cm7.2 because the audio is perfect, which is important to me, and the battery life is far superior at this point.
Thank you sounds good!

Slow phonebook/dialer ?

Hello guys,
my phone's dialer and phonebook has become very slow.
Sometimes it even takes 10 seconds to load.
I have already turned off all the synchronizations.
There are no facebook or gmail contacts in my phonebook.
I have 400 contacts stored in my phone.
What could be the problem ?
from app drawer, hold the dialer icon. then go into app info and from there 'clear data'. do this for people also...(contacts will not be deleted)
Thanks for your reply.
I've tried your suggestion, but it's still not working.
It's because you have 400 contacts

Running PACman ROM with Titanium KISS Kernel..
No problems with Dialer/Contacts app.... I had a vCard file which had >500 contacts.. but it doesn't lag..
maybe you just have too many background apps open?
Telling the ROM and Kernel would be a great help....

Hello,
I've got the same problem with stock Sense, also there was a lag sometimes with medium-heavy load when I've been trying to call. The weird is my friend with ONE X got the same problem, so we thought it was our country's network, but since I changed to maxwen-Lloir's CM10 it is running like charm.
I think it maybe HTC sense's problem.......
Sent from my HTC One V using xda premium
Yes it's that yucky Stock Sense problem..
All the HTC One Series have the same problem..... It lags!
Root and flash some other ROM.... and if you want Sense, flash myONEv RC 7.0fx+! I'm amazed to see it's speed... Phonebook/Dialer app is exactly same but it's really fast!
Thanks for your replies guys.
No, I am not using any custom ROMs, just the default HTC Sense.
And I don't want to void my phone's warranty.

I know that bro.
And I have already tried couple of third party dialers but that did not help.
I have deleted all the apps cache and removed some unwanted apps.
And guess what, now the dialer is taking good 15-20 seconds after touching the call button.:crying:
Root it. : it will help u.

I had this same issue with AOKP but not to that extreme extent. There was a slight lag just noticeable enough to be irritating. I tried flashing different versions of gapps but ultimately just gave up. I don't believe it's a contact issue because I don't have the least bit of a problem with the stock dialer.

I am done with flashing CM10. Its good ROM. No bugs as yet. Everything is working fine. But one thing came into my notice that its being too slow. I dont know if its ROM's issue or due to some apps. But its being very laggy.
Camera works great.
Camcorder is also working.
Voice call is doing its job in great way..
And most important MUSIC PLAYER is working.
Overall I am having good feelings about this ROM.:highfive:
You can try this one.
Just take care of things while flashing this ROM.
Use this boot image file www.mediafire.com/download.php?waggdha1ir1lxz0
And download "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip" http://goo.im/gapps/ from this repository.
Cause when i downloaded the latest gapps-jb from this repo. it gave me error.
Apart from this its good to go.
Thanks, i will as fast as possible flash cm10, and then we can look if my rom also slow is.

CM9 CDMA 100% Working

OK.. here it is 100% working (as far as I can tell) CM9 for the CDMA primoc.
IT WORKS WITH THE UPDATED (OTA) Radio & HBOOT. Please do not ask...
EVERYTHING works, including USB tethering, bluetooth tethering, wifi hotspot, bluetooth to mono headset (voice !), bluetooth to A2DP, bluetooth sleep !, wifi sleep !, videos, sms, mms, camera 5 mp, camera flash, panorama, video recorder 720p, adb, adb root, ...
It's all there. Built from the latest source. The only "mod" is that Apollo 1.1 (latest) is included.
There is only one very minor glitch.
It is VERY, VERY rare, and only in VERY low memory situations - there seems to be some font corruption in some apps. Disabling the 'purge assets' under performance seems to fix this. Do not enable 'purge assets'.
It uses the original HTC camera files, so it is very stable. I am going to work on changing it to use the open source Code Aurora drivers this winter.
Could not have done it without the CyanogenMod team, simonsimons, rukin, and jmztaylor and their posted github code for ideas.
It's a great ROM for our devices, very fast, and completely stable.
Some rules... Sorry but I will not answer any "how do I..." questions. I just do not have the time. There are plenty of forum posts that direct you how to install a custom rom, add mods, etc.
If you do find a bug/issue, please post it here. I will probably not be posting frequent updates, except for critical issues. Enhancements will probably be done this winter when the golf season ends...
rom updated: camera flash fixed
rom updated: bluetooth sleep fixed
download link - tested
download link latest - untested
BTW, you also need to flash gapps. Also, flash the boot.img in the rom using fastboot. You need to do a full wipe if coming from a jellybean based rom.

Try dev-host Mega will give you problems if trying to download with phone, Not mobile friendly.
devhost. more reliable as far as roms go..to share your source thats another story.i cant say on that.
I plan on sharing the source. Noticed today high battery drain when Bluetooth on. Seems to be a kernel lock issue. Seems a common ics problem. Going to post what I've got, but also build a new kernel from the HTC source with a few mods for overclock and have to make sure all of the other stuff still works.

Just an FYI, the Bluetooth battery drain is not typically an issue since it is normally in the car, and you can be charging. Also, use a tasker setup that turns off BT when not needed and you're all good.
