Apart from tube mate, are there any apps to download vids from youtube?
There is an old youtube app that is modified to download videos.
Is tubemate not good enough for you?
Easiest way:
1. Open that Youtube video in Opera Mini.
2. Select HD or Normal quality.
3. Click on watch the video.
4. It will download.
Works well for me. If I have to download a video, I do this. Please tell me whether it works for other S3 users or not...
install criskelo rom or extract rolletube app from criskeo roms, it will let you download youtube videos.
Just wanted to see downloads speed because sometimes tubemate is slow.

I don't think you will get faster downloads from any other programs since tubemate uses segments to download the video.

SnapPea for Android supports downloading YouTube videos. You can try and let us know your feedback.
try this one as i use it myself and works flawlessly

it seems like I can't stream anything in HD. is there a setting for this? Both YouTube and Netflix apps streams in 360 or 480p even when HD button is on. it's kind of annoying when I know I can get better picture than that. What's the purpose of having a nice screen when you can only stream in this resolution? is there a way to force these to stream in 720p? or at least an apk that will work on Galaxy Note II. i've found some but it doesn't work on my NII. thanks.

For youtube you can go to settings but I think its HQ and for you to see videos you have to make sure whatever video you choose to watch is a HD video that way when it starts you can select the HD option button remember on youtube you have to hope that the uploader had recorded their videos in HD also. Now for netflix it shows on its own since I have lte I really never tried to see if their was an option for HD in the settings.

both of them shows pixelation even both the Netflix shows I watch and YouTube channels in am subscribed to is both available in HD. I cannot express how much I hate this.
I see you use Sprint version. have you tried comparing it side by side a laptop or desktop if they are the same? I tried comparing them and note II was inferior of the three, but when I run a video I have on my sd card it looks crisp.

this! I tried this earlier with TIBU but I can't install it. Apparently it stayed at my app drawer so it blocked me from installing it. I tried it again and worked like magic. it's finally streaming true HD! now we just need netflix. I tried some already but all of them won't work. It force closes on me. tyvm

mine didn't. It seems like it's not just me. There's a huge difference between the modded apk linked above than the one on play store. no pixelation and discoloration on the new apk. crisp and clear just like how it looks like on a laptop. but now it eats a lot more data which is fine since I have unlimited 4g nationwide. I guess I see why the official one doesn't offer true HD. ^^.
I hope somebody do something like that for netflix. I've searched but no one has a working apk on Samsung devices. :/

Download Tube mate (Google It) you can stream or download 1080P,720P,480P,360P HD videos on 3G/4G/LTE or WiFi. Works great for me. Also there's a modded Netflix APK that supports 720P. Google it as well. I don't like posting links because they may be considered as spam.

ES Flie Explorer or Total commander they will prompt you to watch or download so its your choice ive got this working on couple of Video Sites.
downloading flash
For desktop I started using the torch browser since no add ons are needed. There's a video grabber embedded that can take flash videos off the web. Give it a shot.
Here is the newest YouTube.apk

Try TubeMate. Here's their official website: tubemate.net
or maybe video tube downloader
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 4 mit Tapatalk 4
tube mate forced me to quite the browser i am in, copy paste the link into the program and then it will download that video.
tube downloader has a browser in the program it self. so i just go to any site i want, and as soon as the video starts playing, i get a "save" icon that with just one click, it will save automatically.
ive used tubmate on all my devices.. never had issue with it

The new version of youtube app has just been released providing the option to custom choose the resolution of the video. However, the only options for our phone are 140p 240p 360p. Is anybody aware of a way to enable hd video to our measly but reliable phone?
Thus far AFAIK, the only way to watch YouTube videos in HD is via third party apps such as Viral Popup Player and OGYouTube.

Are you people running Stock ROM from samsung?
I am running the latest nightly version of OMNI rom for galaxy s2 and all the Youtube videos are played at only 360p maximum. Is this rom lacks any youtube video hardware acceleration issue? or its an limitation with youtube.
Thanks,
Sivabalan K
the s2 doesn't have a 720p screen so hd videos are usless on this small screen

I'm on NeatROM which is essentially a stock ROM and the quality only goes up to 360p on the official YouTube app. You can watch YouTube videos in 720p but only via third party apps.

Get Xposed and download "app settings" then open it and scroll down to YouTube and change the DPI to 200 and change the DP to 800×1280 I'm sure it will work. Hope I helped
