Mobile Buzz News Widget Discontinued - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

As written above, when I tried to refresh my widget to check what the latest news was, it came up with a message from the mippin team saying they were discontinuing the news service. My question is does anyone have an alternative app that carried out the same function? Delivering the latest android news to me from various droid specialists?

I really miss this widget, wonder why they closed it down. Flipboard & Drippler.
Though nothing to beat that widget

What app you want to see updated?

This is just a thread for thoughts and ideas that people want to share!
I like apps and after owning windows 7, iPhone and android I have an idea for how apps should look like, if anyone own iOS they can tell you tweetbot is one of the best apps on it, or android tweet lanes looks really good but needs speeds performance, anyways I would like to know what apps you like the a lot but would love to be updated to ICS Holo look and feel, IMO the app that I used the most is Tapatalk, probably the best money I spent on android app so far(and titanium backup anyways the app is great but miss the ICS feel, I wish they could updated to make it feel more Holo look and feel like tweet lanes, swiping will be cool to go from recent to favorites , what app would you like updated?

I would love for the HD netflix app to be updated.
I'd like the Hotmail app to be renamed to "Outlook" and completely redesigned/updated to match the web interface of the new Outlook.com email client released by Microsoft.
And for those who don't know what I'm talking about, the new Outlook.com really does compete and even beat out Gmail in MANY aspects including features, simplicity, and attachment size allowed.

Yeah I signed up a few days ago and thinking of using it as my main email, but like you said that app needs yo get updated for sure

Yeah I've been with them for a while. From msn to hotmail and now to outlook. The new look is awesome.
I wish they would update 2 apps.
1. Awesome Beats - so it works with apps other than Google Play.
2. CWM Touch Recovery - so it saves backups with the correct date and time.

Messaging apk and custom roms

I know this might sound trivial but this is the only ROM I've seen with customized messaging app that includes pop up, my question is how come no one includes a way in the ROM or app to set individual contact notifications without downloading another app

First of all, I have no idea what rom your talking about. I'm assuming ANYTHING based on CM10 or AOKP code.
Second, stock android has never had custom notifications for individual contacts. And to do this someone would actually have to code it! Maybe they'll get around to it, maybe they won't. Maybe it never crossed their minds because they don't use such a thing, or maybe because there's apps for that! but for native support, it has to be something a dev actually wants to have.
Not trying to be a douche either, just informing :highfive:
Sorry codename android 3.6.0 but yeah I find it really handy to know who is texting you without picking up the phone

I am also running CNA 3.6.0 but I do not know where the option to set custom notification tone for individual contact. Can you help me please?
Honestly no where, to achieve this you need to go to messaging settings turn off notifications, go to play store download sms popup and enable it and then find contact notifications.

MIUI also includes sms popups in the stock app
Yes but those pop UPS don't support individual notifications as far as I know

This is in the apps section
I'm a big fan of Twicca
I haven't really used any Twitter app other than Twitter and falcon. I'm using falcon at the moment and I like how the widget works. Nice and simple with notifications on new tweets, refresh and do on.

I like using Tweetcaster. Suits my needs very well and has a lot of options. I'm super fond of the image filter. Hope that helps in your search.
Falcon pro and the falcon widget

Boid, holo themed, open source, improved my battery a bit when I switched to it and friendcaster (Facebook). Try them all!

I have the paid version of Plume, love the multiple columns and embedded pictures.
Tweetcaster serves my needs

I go between Slices and the stock twitter.
falcon pro.
I'm using tweetings. Switched because the official twitter app doesn't have a tablet version for my nexus 7.

Plume here mainly because it had the nicest looking widget
Falcon Pro for Twitter. How fluid the app is, inline website viewing, and ease of access to lists and list management.
I previously used Boid and loved it until they stopped developing it, have they been releasing updates for it since it became open source? Other twitter apps I love are Echofon and Tweetlanes.
Falcon Pro. I rarely buy apps but I did for this. Definitely worth it

Definitely Falcon Pro

Another vote for Plume, although it sounds like I need to check out Falcon, I haven't heard of that one.
I like Plume because it has thumbnails of images in tweets - although some don't like that. As mentioned before the widgets are good also.
Used to be on plume used tweetings then found twidere which is the same same as tweetings but free, no ads.
Anyone got news of Carbon for twitter apps... Was supposed to come out in end August or beginning of October can't remember..

I usually just use the official twitter app, but always open to switching!
I tried Falcon Pro. It has a really nice User Interface and the APIs make it looks good with Jelly Bean. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a "Jump To top" button or a refresh feature
Sent from my BAKED GS3
I also tried Falcon Pro. I like the interface, but, unless I'm mistaken, real-time push notifications only work when on wi-fi.
Tweetcaster!!

Yeah for sure. I agree, some updates need to be made to FP lol. tweetcaster is boss. I like TweetDeck but Twitter hasn't updated it in so long. I doubt it has APIs for 4.x.x lol

I bought plume pro over a year ago, it's constantly been updated and it's really customizable. The only thing I don't like are the widgets. They look awful lol. But the app itself is A+

I used Twicca for a long time. I prefer very minimalistic style clients. I have been using Tweetings for Twitter for about 2 months now. I love it, very good interface.

[APP] Maluuba

This device is awesome! I have found an application that is of real use to me and makes this phone even that much more of a beast.

Google now and even siri does this. Its how it works. If you turn on the Facebook birthday thing it will create calendar events automatically when you add new friends and such. That's just an example.

Can't install
