Hi, is anybody else having the following issue?
I am currently running Venom Rom with stock kernel but the problem started after I flashed Charmaleon Rom.
I have absolutely no sound on any app. No ringtones/no media/no alarm sound etc.
Also when playing a youtube video, the video plays really quickly. A minute video will be done in 10 seconds or so..
I have done a couple of full wipes with no effect
Can anybody help please?
EDIT:
Just to add, just made a call and the speaker works on loudspeaker when on a call. I'm so lost
Nobody?
Any tips or pointers at all would be appreciated
Sounds odd. Maybe the best thing to try is to go completely back to stock ?

Yup factory reset the sucker.
If the sound works you should then take the opportunity to root that baby.

Damn you are rooted. Erm, go back to stock see if that helps. Unroot and factory reset. Then reroot.

Unroot? I'm guessing you mean go back to stock and relock the bootloader?
Would i just have to flash the necessary O2 RUU from the stock ROMS thread and then relock?
Cheers for the responses guys

As an update, I tried the complete back to stock route and still no sound.
I'm having the exact same issues described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1677132
Including choppy youtube as I mentioned in the first post.
I've tried the solution that worked for the OP of that thread but I'm still without sound
Anybody got any ideas?

I am planning to exchange my phone back to the store. I have unrooted and factory reset but it still shows clockwork recovery. Since there is no odin version of stock rom, how do I then return back to stock recovery? Thanks.
Edit: I think I may have found the answer myself. Will report back.
Edit 2: Didn't realize that there is in fact an odin version to stock under development thread. I just odin'd and everything is ok.
Can you post the exact thread to the stock method? What I've seen so far is what seems to be half axed ways.
Thanks.

it does not.
I actually had to return the phone since they didn't have any left in stock and bought it at another store. I forgot about the flash counter. I have been looking around and don't see any answers to reset it or not count for T-mobile. I think ATT and Sprint have a way to reset it. Can anyone chime in? I will probably start a thread here or in general about it.
Hey guys, gotta make this quick. As of lately, I unlocked my bootloader with the intentions of installing a different ROM. I've tried nearly every ROM (including the stock de/odexed ones) and nothing will stay on. With every flash I have done a FULL wipe and flashed correct boot.imgs, but still nothing more than being rebooted a minute after the ROM starts up. I need this phone to run again because I can't stand the loaner I have.
Did you do the OTA Update?

I suppose I can give it a go... but do you have any idea of what's making everything fail so horribly? Because honestly, HTC devices are a whole new ballpark to me.
the 3 ROMS whichu cant ignore are
CM10
AOKP JB
PACman ROM

He asked because the OTA update will cause exactly what you describe.
I would revert back to pre-OTA by running the RUU and then relock/reroot/rerom from there.

What he said. The OTA update will cause Custom roms and kernels not to boot. So the RUU will fix the problem.

Where would I find an Ubuntu-friendly RUU? My Win7 partition decided to s#!t the bed so I'm stuck running on Ubuntu 12.10 until I can get an external HDD to back up all of my Windows files. Thanks.
EDIT: If there is no "Ubuntu-friendly" version, does it atleast play nicely with Wine? This has become a pain in the tush and honestly, I'd just love to get this over with so I can have a functioning phone again. Not to mention get some of that JellyBean goodness.
EDIT #2: Nevermind! I figured it out and now it's all good in the hood.
Hey guys
So I might be selling my s3 but the buyer wants it stock....why?...I don't no.
How do I unroot the phone? And also how do i delete all the user info from the phone memory. I know doing wipe factory doesnt get rid of the stuff on the phone memory.
So pretty much need to make the phone like I got it
Any help is greatly appreciated

Use Odin and flash a stock image

near the bottom of the post is a section on unrooting. video included. cheers
If you are running a custom recovery you can format everything including your internal storage. Under stock recovery a factory reset will clear out everything as well. Do this first then ODIN stock ROM. For good measure factory reset again with stock recovery.

Hi guys, brand new to the forum, member wise, but been using XDA site for years. Have had the Verizon HTC One since it was released in August and been patiently waiting for S-Off to be achievable. Awesome for Sonic buying a Java card and wish I could have sent mine to him but unfortunately did not have a backup phone to use.
I was wondering if someone could create a guide to complete S-Off with Beaup's mod? I don't want to brick my phone since it's the only one I have, so I figured this could be beneficial to everyone, not just me.
Thanks guys
If you follow his guide, it's pretty straight forward. It failed the first time for me because of either not having the stock kernel, or just a bad usb port, but that didn't brick my phone. It just didn't do anything. Tried it the second time and it worked like a charm.

Thanks man for clearing it up. Just kind of new to HTC in particular. First HTC phone. Was just kind of curious if I had to worry about anything different.
Im running nos sense but when i tried to go back to my backup of stock before root i got a md5 mismatch on cwm and so it wont backup to that. Does anybody know where i can get the stock rom to be able to run the s-off method. thanks

You should be able to flash one of the stock based roms and make sure you have the stock kernel.

Oh ok cool. Would nos sense work or do I need to use like Andy's bonestock rom?
How do you get an ATT S3 back to full stock config and count reset??
I have an SGH-I747 that was rooted, cwm recovery and a few roms installed in the past. Right now I am stuck. I want to go back to all official/original, like it would if you bought it new. I would like it to have the latest official ATT firmware build, kernel ,modem, etc.... and the counter reset. I'm currently on 4.3 but I don't know if its the official build for ATT, I included a screenshots of device info. Please check them for more info. If you need more let me know.
I know some of you are going to say "did you read through the forums??" The answer is yes I did but could not find a good answer to my particular problem. I am somewhat of a noob but I do know the basics. All I ask is for a bit of help or info.
Thanks in advance
You can reset the custom binary count, but not the warranty bit.
The best you can do is follow enewman17's stock restore thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
Then update to 4.4.2 via ota.

Try factory reset in recovery
Factory resetting solves about 99% of all boot hangs.
