[TOOL]Easy Kernel-Recovery Flasher V1.0(discontinued) - HTC One V

Hi..I have created this tool to help people new to Android or HTC for that matter to flash kernels and recoveries without any pain.. You may say that there is another Toolkit out there wich is 100x better(agreed!) but I find this simpler to use.
This is my first try to any of these type of toolkits so I know its basic.
You put recovery.img in the Recovery folder and open Recovery-Flash.bat
And it will flash the recovery.
You put boot.img in the Kernel folder and open Kernel-Flash.bat
And it will flash the kernel.
For all flashes you need to have USB Debugging enabled and have to be booted in normal OS.
It will do everything.
MAKE SURE YOU NAME THE RECOVERY recovery.img AND THE KERNEL boot.img otherwise this ToolKit will not work.
CHANGELOG:
v1.0:
Initial Build.
If I find this interesting I will continue this project and will learn more about .bat files and stuff

Does it complement "HTC One V All-In-One Toolkit V1.1" or has similar functionality?

I lost it on bus. I might get a new One S(S4) later or save more money to get HTC M4. I can't decide it at right now, I will stick with One V for 3 ~ 6 months but I won't sell it out, will transfer it to my parents probably.
Well, for the price of One V the camera indeed is excellent. The mainly problem is HTC only provides the most optimized camera drivers for One X/S because they are flagship models. The sense4.1 + 4.0.4(ViperRom) on my One S got noticeably better image quality over my One V with sense4.1 + 4.0.4(mySENSE-v RC3.5) ported from Desire X+One SV. I guess the drivers in Desire X+SV worse than One X/S.

Forget to mention, I think port JB from Desire X to One V is still possible. I remember when I had One S, people can be flashed the sense JB even they are with the very old hboot. But we'll need some guys to test it and it may brick the phone.... lol

No. At that time(2012 Dec), One S didn't has S-OFF yet. It got S-OFF only at around Feb.
I just checked the Desire X board, they said with old hboot(ICS) have no problem to flash sense JB but there need to use some special ways.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249760
check #3
Part 3 - Installing boot.img and booting your DX
7. Open the ICShboot_Toolkit folder and run the Install Boot.img.bat
Just ignore what is written in the CMD as the boot.img is actually is installed to the recovery partition as the ICS boot partition is too small to be written with JB boot.img
8. Press Power once to go to hboot and select Recovery to boot your device
9. Enjoy your newly flashed JB ROM on ICS hboot
All in all, we will loss TWRP(can't mount, install stuffs and backup/restore) because recovery partition is used for JB boot partition now(we'll also need to choose recovery to boot the phone everytime) and there is a bug in JB since it doesn't mount the sdcard with this way installed but we can install multi-mount SD card app on PlayStore to fix this problem. Later time, if you want to go to TWRP again(for example, do a rom backup) you'll need to fastboot flash recovery twrp.img via fastboot and after do the backup, flash this ICShboot_Toolkit on recovery again.
So, now all we need to do is wait ckpv5 to port Desire X JB for us. Can't wait to get the full power of camera again.
Ckpv5 will port only if he wants to, so, good if he will but no one go ask him, he is already busy with my one v and my sense.
also i think if it was possible he would have at least told us. Probably desire X has something we dont have..

[Q] help with pa Rom htc one v

Sorry, noob here... not sure if I'm posting in the right place. Trying to figure out how to install pa Rom on my htc one v, and which version to use. I'd rather a stable older version, than a beta. Also, I was going to use 4.1.2, but then I saw 3.1?
Also, I've read different installation instructions/tutorials, and one mentioned flashing a kernel, one didn't mention a kernel at all-
And, one said that their instructions would only work on htc one v international Tegra 3- I think I have Qualcomm S4...
does that mean I can't use a pa rom? Or do I need to find a pa rom compatible with S4? And how do I verify which version I have?
If so, how or where do I find it?
Please help!
Thanks!

Htc One v comes with a s2 snapdragon only. and you need to find out if your a GSM or CDMA user(means do you use a sim card or not?)
if you are GSM then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1554 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1898. if you are CDMA then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1906.
Lastly if you use a sim card then your a GSM user or primoU else you have a CDMA or primoC.

[DISCONTINUED] Clockwork_Mod_Recovery_6.0.4.4_Hboot_1.72_Touch

Hey...
Not sure if more people have no touch if they update to new hboot..

-changed and compiled to autobuild version 6.0.4.4
=brings some nice options to reboot to bootloader
-workaround version
=repacked with philz Zimage
=working touch
=working usb (wait around a min..or update driver)
=tried with many reboot of recovery and usb mount works..but needs time (around a min..to mount..that's why workaround...but it works..)

Hi Alex,
we (users of TWRP) are waiting for a kernel developer to create custom kernel based on 3.1.10 (working touch in recovery) and usb/adb support. It will be great if you extend your kernel with usb/adb support in recovery. Could you test your development kernel with latest TWRP ramdisk?
Thanks in advance

Hi Alex,
this is the old 2.6 endeavoru kernel used by TWRP. What I know is that this is the original HTC kernel with hacked/enabled usb and adb support in recovery. This kernel is used in the official One X TWRP, but after the firmware update (tp.img) the touch is not working. Repacking the TWRP with the official HTC kernel from 4.18.402.2 recovery brings the touch back, but in a price of missing usb and adb support.
I think that this is the source of the 2.6 kernel (with hacked usb and adb in recovery) used in official TWRP. Maybe you could get some ideas from the commit history.
Hope this helps

If you have some spare time, could you build a TWRP version with usb fixed? I´ve tried to repack but no luck (not sure if I´m doing something wrong)
Hi Alex,
You are talking about fixing usb only. Does your kernel support adb in recovery mode? For me (or people which are modding existing ROM) adb in recovery is the more important feature than usb.

The kernel/boot.img is in the rom zip and yes you have to flash it. Not usually with soff but there are very few s-off devices so the Rom's usually don't include the script to flash the boot.img. Do it manually fastboot flash boot boot.img

I'm not on my computer do I can't check what you get with that download. Sounds like you need to flash modules. Till the great Mr Hofs comes back you can try another sense kernel like xm or Alex. Just do a search and flash the boot.img from the kernel you download and then flash the whole kernel.zip in recovery.

Thank you guys, you are surely amazing people for taking your precious time and helping me! I solved the problem it turned out that I accidently selected that I have a custom kernel but I have a stock kernel. After reinstalling the rom choosing the stock kernel option, everything works flawlessly, right now I'm restoring all my apps from my nand back up. If anyone can help me update to jelly bean, I would truly appreciate that as ICS is getting really outdated but if there is really nothing that I can do then I am happy with viperx 2.8.0

[Q] s2w kernal?

hey guys,
can anyone please point out for me the right kernel with s2w that works with viper 4.0.6.
I tried bricked kernel and it wouldnt boot.
I flashed the boot img from fastboot, then installed the zip from recovery. I also tried another kernel, the rom booted up, i can see the the lock screen(slide to unlock) but when I do I get a white screen with the htc logo.
any help would be appreciated
THX
Read the original android dev section, these are all kernels in the top list. Don't know how you could have missed these and how you got to the bricked kernel that is way down the list !.

Hey there,
I didnt miss them I just dont know which one to use. the one that didnt work is the second link you posted(Stock HTC 4.18.401.2 src), Does this work with sense 5.5 ?
Ill tell you the steps and please tell me if im doing something wrong.
1. im running viper 4.0.7 sense 5.5 with viper boot img
2. i download the lernal from the above link
3. extract the boot image
4.flash img via fastboot
5. clear cache in fast boot
6.boot to recovery and flash the kernal
7.reboot
thanks
Dude we have no sense 5.5 ....
But the steps are fine. The linaro should boot for sure, it's pure stock with only s2w added, the lyapota is what i am running now (on viper 407) no issues at all.
Are you flashing this stuff on your ONE or your ONE X ?

Hey there, THX A LOT
I dont know why but I felt like the latest viper update(0.7) was buggy so I took the chance flashed the kernel and the rom (0.6) and it worked
Well that's awesome news. Enjoy !
