screen cracked under home button by pressing it - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

My galaxy notes screen cracked under the home button after pressing it i havent dropped my note i always was really carefull with it anybody else with this problem it happened on my white note

Weird Hopefully you can let it fixed without paying a lot of money.
Tip: Don't press your homebutton with a hammer

I seen this happen on an S3 as well, their is not a lot of glass under the home button to spread the weight which makes it a weak spot.

Power Button - Squishy

Has anyone else noticed that the power button on the Galaxy Note 2 is a little squishy? Mine will press in at the top and the bottom of the button before the button actually clicks. It is almost as if the actual "button" is in the center of the power button. So if you press the power from the top most part or bottom most part it presses in a little further before it clicks.
Thankfully it functions just fine.

Mine's solid and clicks down wherever I place it... perhaps you have a defect?

I am thinking that, it presses in fine but if I rub my finger along the chrome edge I can feel the button rock up and down near each end. I an not nearly as OCD as some on this forum but I am just leery about issues down the road since this is the power button.
Does anyone else have the same "issue" that I do?
Yup, I have the same issue exactly as you are describing. Kind of seesaws in the middle.
Ok then ill just chalk it up as "acceptable" and get some insurance on it.
Thanks chunology and draconas for the reply

I noticed the same thing yesterday. Funyy how I read this post. I just hope the button doesn't fall out like the volume rocker on my old HTC Sensation.
Shoul I change mine Note 2 because of this?
Does anyone here change his note 2 because of this? Mine feels really bad, it works, but it's starting to get harder. I want to know if I need to ask to my carrier for a change.
Mine works fine. Feels solid and doesn't rock...weird

[Q] semi loose buttons, power button creaking, and click on home button?

hey guys just a quick question, im very worried for some reasons. my buttons feel some what loose but not very loose. is this normal?
and when i press my power button in a certain direction it makes a creaking sound? im thinking my otterbox commuter case damaged it but is it okay? but its still fully responsive, and finally, when i click my home button dead center it makes a slight click noise like on an apple device. maybe not as loud but when i click the sides of the home button, no sound at all.

I had the same problem with my home button, I just cleaned it with a pin around the edges and pressed it in different directions (Like pressing left, corners, bottom) and then wiped it with a wet paper towel which fixed my problem, its probably just dust build up?
If not you probably have to replace the buttons just get them from eBay.

[Q] Anyone have scratches on the home button?

Just noticed that I've got quite a few noticeable scratches on my home button. The rest of the phone is immaculate.
Anybody else see scratches on their home button?
I have the white Note II, about a year old.

[Q] Is your Note 8.0 Home Button a bit flushed or Recessed & Less Responsive?

Well The title speaks for itself...
Anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone of you guys have this issue like mine (well not really a "super issue, but it concerns me")? as far as i remember when i bought my note 8, i didn't notice if it's a bit recessed and or rather flushed as like almost in level with the screen, I have been searching from google and here as well but i kinda not find anyone complaining about the note 8's physical home button and i think mine is the only one who has this.
And another thing i found that when pressing the home button it sometimes does not work and i need to press a bit hard but not so hard for it to work, specially when pressing to wake my tablet that i need to put a bit of press pressure to turn my tablet on (wake up), I am worried that my home button is wearing out, My note 2 is has a crisp home button and responds well at light pressure the same as my note 2014 edition.
Please let me know guys if anyone of you noticed your note 8's home button that could be either wearing out or the same as mine.
Thanks...

Haven't seen it with mine... though I have a thick hardened glass protector that recesses the button from being pushed by accident. I also have the home screen button disabled to wake as well, so I guess I don't use the home button much to wear it out so to speak.
Hi, Thanks for your quick response, Maybe i placed too much attention on my tablet, but anyways, Is your home button soft and does it exhibit a click/tick feel if you press it? coz mine does not but there are times it does have a click/tick like feel wehn pressed but not always...
thanks...

Well I am not sure about click... but it is firm and springy to the touch. When about 1/2 way down, It gives a wee tactile feel just before bottoming down. Even though the button is big, it seems that pressing on the center is best, as the ends are a wee bit spongy.

Power Button Recessed

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the power button on their 2XL?
I have the Black & White version and the orange power button seems to be protruding less and less from the main frame, making it difficult to press.
It's still quite "clicky" but in comparison to the volume rocker it's much more be recessed.

I've noticed that. It seems to fit a little more flush with the frame. not a deal breaker for me. I've got a decent screen... Can't risk a replacement lol
Mine still seems fine, been kept in a Ringke case since new so possibly doesn't get pushed in as far as a naked button.
I've had it in the Google fabric case since I got it which also covers the buttons. I think it also may have something to do with that...the fabric case button is much bigger and pops out more...and now that I've taken the case off, the actual power button feels less prominent.
I rarely use the button.
So, I activate the phone using finger print and turn the screen off using "screen off" app

Ah good shout. I've just activated a similar feature in Nova Launcher. Thanks for the tip.
Yes, same here. Orange button seems slightly recessed.
My dad just got his Pixel, and I have had mine for over 2 months. Both power buttons are identical. Protruding slightly less than the volume rocker. It's definitely not getting worse over time.
I've thought the same thing on the ones i've had but this was the 3rd one i've had and all have been the same spot. Has never failed me yet though had it since launch
