Anyone figure out how to remove the T-Mobile Hotspot app? I used Titanium to remove pretty much every other crApps but can't seem to isolate that stupid app. I'm rooted and waiting for more custom ROMs, but would love to get rid of the needless bloat in the meantime. Also... Is there any other hidden apps (Carrier IQ, etc) that I could remove? How do we do it?
Check the development section. It should solve your problem

Yep. I did. Didn't see it there after searching so figure I'd post the question here since it's not really development related.

Searched and searched but can't find a list of bloatware that are safe to uninstall using Titanium. If you happen to find one please share.
Thanks in advance.

On a non-rooted phone, you can only disable from the Application Manager. To remove from your phone completely, you have to root it first.

but when I go to Setting->Application Manager->ChatON (as an example), I only see 2 options, Force stop and Uninstall updates. I did not see any disable option.
You have to uninstall updates before it will give you the option to disable.
Keep in mind not all system apps will have the option. But uninstall updates, and then see what it says.

Does freezing with Titanium do the same as uninstalling? I'm afraid to uninstall, in case I need to go back to stock (I already deleted a couple apps, I want to be able to get my warranty if needed).
So has anyone removed the Hotspot app? I keep seeing run-arounds removing other bloatware (which does help!) but specifically, can the "T Mobile Hotspot" app be removed? What's it named and where's it located? It's the last piece of bloat I have.
Samsung backup provider
Samsung cloud data relay
Samsung cloud syncadapters
What exactly do these three items do? Can I still download movies like the Avengers? I am guessing these are similar to google backups for contacts/ calenders etc. I see them running all the time.
This works great. Used it on Wicked rom and on Domination V2.

what sort of functionality loss this you notice? Can you please tell us, i'm planing to get rid of most of stock apps when i get the phone but like to know what will be affected.
So.
Being a new android user, I messed around with my phone without a full understanding of what would happen if i uninstalled a core application. I assumed incorrectly that Titanium Backup would allow me to reinstall applications, and then uninstalled the stock clock application thinking that it was one of the many clock widgets.
Could someone upload their stock Clock application apk here, or advise me as to how I can restore the stock clock without having to flash the original ROM?
Do you mean this apk?
i'm no expert either but if its the one you deleted then pushing it back via adb should do the trick.

I think its part of one of the calendar listings. One is the set of widgets and one is the calendar app. Whatever one doesn't have "open" available when you click on it is the set of Widgets.

Other than looking at my CC purchase report. Report is OK. I can filter by "Google" and I believe that all the paid apps are included.
But is it possible to do that in Google Play Web or App?
In the Web I can find only all Apps I downloaded and All Apps which are installed. But they are not categorized as purchased or not.
Any ideas?
I wish google would do this also in their play store app, I'm sick of seeing every app I have downloaded over the last 3 years in the all apps tab an I can't even delete them from the list.

Exactly. I can see only a list of every ****ty app I downloaded. It's really annoying that we can't filter the list.
Ditto! I remember the "old" Google market where you can look at just the purchased apps, but now with Google play you can't.
I wish they can create some way to sort.
Now, you might be able to see all you purchased apps on a pc. I think.

Nice ! I never even thought of that. G.W. is useless in Canada so far, so I never would think to check that, but lo and behold. Thank you !
It would be nice if Google Play Store could do that though, but at least this way I can view the list, then search the market for specific purchased apps, rather than scrolling thru a jumbled, unorganized mess of crapps I have installed in the past.

No problem. I do agree though, the Play store app needs search filters that allows that.

You can see a list of all purchases if you log into the Google Wallet site, however it also includes all purchases from the play store (music, magazines, offers), so it might still be too much information. My advise would be to install appbrain on your phone and sync the apps to appbrain. It will compile a list of paid applications for you and is a handy way to see how much you have spent in the market. The only short fall of this method is it will not account for apps that were purchased and removed prior to syncing.
Finally!!!
A solution we were looking for: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...apps-in-one-place-with-the-legacy-play-store/
So we have two ways so far:
1) Google Wallet page
2) Hacked old Playstore app

I don't think removing all these will make your device fly
If any battery monitor showing any of these application draining juice then you can remove/disable.
Truly speaking i have all these and neither of it even records 0.1% juice at end of the day unless i have used that application.
Now if you saying about RAM, Android itself have inbuilt LMK (low memory killing)mechanism, whenever it needs RAM, it will remove unused application from background.
If still you needs more RAM (Cosmetically) you can find option in development option in setting to limit application number in background, though i can't say weather it will be helpful to save juice or raise performance.

Instead of removing these, use Titanium Backup (you must be rooted) or similar to freeze them instead. Why? Sometimes you need them, and when you do you'll wish you hadn't uninstalled them completely. Also, a lot of the built-in application reside in the system partition, so removing them isn't going to get you any more storage space. What you really want to do is stop them from loading into RAM and hogging space if you don't use them at all. Freezing (i.e., disabling) them should do this. At the very least they won't run in the background and eat battery.
Also, some other apps/system services may link to these and if you uninstall them suddenly the system stops working the way it should (be especially careful of Samsung apps). When that happens you may need them to get the system back to where it should be. Unfreezing is a lot easier than trying to find them online or in a backup.
Finally -- before you do anything, backup, backup, backup.

Well I remove quite a bit out of my system/app folder and I see my android system battery usage drop significantly during the day, so I can't say it won't help as long as you don't use those items.
However all the things you listed are OK to remove, but I do recommend making a backup of the app folder at least. Ideally do a whole nandroid backup first.
When removing them, be sure to delete the apk and the odex file for the respected apk.
There's also alot more you can delete without losing much on the phone besides NFC which I never use anyway.

Anyone have a moded Milk music app? One that allows you to play explicit music without logging into samsung account .
Running latest but keep getting bugged to sign in.
Had a version that I had found somewhere here that ran with no prompt to sign in , but can't find it.
Lost it after factory wipe.
Edit: Basically I was running Milk music without any Samsung acct or apps installed on S4, I had debloated my phone of all Samsung apps widgets and accounts, and somehow the Milk music worked fine. Now after reinstall I keep getting requests to "Log in for explicit content".
NO NO NO , don't want to log in.
just want to hear my kind of music with all the naughty bits intact.
Looked all over Google but no luck .

Was kind of working without login, but now it stopped working ,says it can't log into account ?
Having trouble finding the original one that was posted here. That version worked fine .

This is it.
NOTE: I have tentatively cleared this with the moderators. MODS: If any legal question is raised feel free to erase the contents of this post.
This is a modified version of Samsung Milk with references to the Samsung Account services removed. It is also modified to install and work on any device, not just the Samsung ones. You WILL need to uninstall any versions of Milk that you have already installed if you want to use this application.

I can not wait for a working Philips Hue app. I am checking the Gear store every few days. A few have been added since but there are either issues with it working on and off or the Widget not working. I need the widget!
Also, a Samsung Multiroom speaker update for Tizen 4! I searched this up before getting the Galaxy Watch and it looks like there is one for Tizen 3 but nothing for Tizen 4 yet.... Boo
What are you waiting for?
Yeah, it's frustrating to see so many apps available for WearOS that are not available on Tizen. I have the LTE enabled Galaxy Watch and would love to be able to leave my phone behind at home sometimes and still have access to the functionality of my favorite apps. Hoping these app developers start getting us some content on Tizen! Here's my wish list: Alert360, Amazon Music, Uber, Lyft, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Skype, Skype for Business, Google Maps.

I thought I knew what I was getting in to when I bought the watch but with many devs not updating their apps, the app list for the Galaxy watch is less than the already sparse Gear S3!
The Spotify app is pretty good so my local music needs are fulfilled but apps like Skype, SfB and Uber would be an excellent addition to the watch.
WhatsApp, I can do with the replying to notifcations. I don't need to look through previous convos.
Google Maps, I paid £1 for a companion app. Works really well for turn by turn navigation. It dosn't give you the birds eye view but it guides very very well and hasn't failed me yet. Start a journey on Google Maps (On your phone) and it will auto start the compantion app on the watch. Its called "Gear Navigation". Free app for watch but paid app app on Google Play.
Having Uber on my wrist.. Might make it too easy!
I think there is an Uber app for Tizen now
Having just transferred from gear s3 to Galaxy watch, ALL my apps (and they are a lot) that were bought for the gear (tizen3) now work for Galaxy watch (tizen4). There is a Phillips hue app in the store and an Uber app too also for Galaxy watch. You may need to change your country store to USA to see them all (there is a topic for this under the gear forum). The Uber app only though works only with a Samsung phone.
I would like to get a podcast app.
Spotify don't have podcasts on the watch app.. Why, just why?..
Audible would be another app, then I can leave my phone @ home.
I believe Tizen has a bigger market share than WearOS now, surely developers will notice?
I talked with customer service at Audible.
They have an app for the apple watch.
I sugested that they make an app for the Galaxy watch too.
They thanked me and forwarded the request.
If there are more Audible customers here, it will probably help if you did the same.

Personally, I just want an app that stores notification history so that I can access old messages. There is 1 old app called NWS that does this but it drains the watch battery like MAD (5% per hour just from this app).
I am getting so frustrated by the lack of this simple feature that I will either make the app myself or return the watch.
