Motorola defy/defy plus no official cm9. - Defy General

defy/defy plus is not going to get official support from cm9 because open gl drivers were not released for ics my Motorola..Motorola stated defy will remain in gb..so defy gonna miss cm9 if no cm9 no miui too...

can u pls explain y u posted this....dis has been told in many forums before and it is common knowledge.....n it isn't a big deal too.....coz we already have quite stable(though not complete) cm9 due to our devs.........

Cm9 is becoming very stable. Our community can do what the Motorola never will.

very stable?
i didn't mean to disrespect the devs.
but slow and unresponsive scrolling in CM9 annoys me..
even wallpaper scrolling on launcher is laggy, compared to cm7.
also slow scrolling on facebook and other app is unaceptable.
i don't know how you guys keep saying CM9 is stable..
defy get the best rom at CM7..
i give up trying CM9, i give up with stupid locked bootloader..
when my friend want to buy an android phone,
i always suggesting to not to buy stupid motorola.

what's your problem?
CM9 is the is the freedom of the slaves, we can't have an official build never! but....it doesn't matter the developers are doing a nice job, in every nightly i have been testing i can see and feel how cm9 is going to be more stable, yeah the scroll isn't very smooth in some apps but... if you want be "FAST" go to stock rom or keep with CM7 and don't be annoying!
i can play gta3, nova3, n64, psx and more on cm9

I don't see any rationale in this thread. If people are happy with partial HWA in CM9 (ICS in fact) just be so, If you ain't happy just ignore it..
I'd request mods to close the thread..

Please note the version posted will be a proof of concept version, and IS NOT for daily usage nor for people unknown to flashing etc.
It is being posted for development purposes only, however Lttldvl and I wish for this to be an open community, and which for other developers to help fix the issues that are still present.
The rom DOES NOT currently get passed the lockscreen, as touch sensors and screen resolution need fixed.
Edit: using 2 fingers or back key and menu key will get you past lockscreen.
This is a product of open source, let's see what WE CAN ALL DO with it..!
How to flash:
Exactly the same process as MIUI or CM7

Galnet and Lttldvl
really interesting
Once we work on a few more details to get it running better, we will make the files available to download, along with instructions on how to flash this.
@Galnet, it look amazing but it isn't useless for a stable port to use the SDK and not the source code?
i'll keep an eye on this
thanks!!

You made my pants turn wet :0 keeping fingers crossed for that to work! I've actually moved away from Cyanogen,MIUI cause of easy usability of Sammy ROMs and UKW Radio. If GPS, Bluetooth, Data would work i'll marry you right away. You saved me from buying a Galaxy Nexus or at least a Nexus S. All the best to your work. Will donate for sure if this suceeds (so should the others getting wet pants)

Can't sleep.. let me know if I can be of testing assistance. Btw I and i hope others understand this is a port so wont be fully "stable" and bug free. If u need your phone for important phone calls or to take pictures of a family event.. wait for galnetmiui or cm7 source based drop. As for me.. I am bored feed me some ics Love

I think many things wont work fine, image clearly shows that pointer is their so its not for your daily use guys. Let them work on it for some time and it will be just for some enjoyment in its early stage.

[Q] Chrome (beta) for android??

People must have bee talking about this but i cant seem to find those threads. The new chrome browser for android, is there any way to get it onto a rooted android phone thats running gingerbread?
Also, any ideas on when ics will finally make its way over, right now they seem to be making pretty good headway on the alpha builds of CM9...
nope.. chrome browser only works for ICS for now... i think its something with the lib files of ICS that makes it run.

only works on ICS as mentioned. i have this on my Prime. it is ok, but you (just like 98% of the others) would still probably prefer dolphin/boat/other browsers for the features. i only have it to know when updates come along. there is no flash support, but some flash sites have been known to work, albeit slowly
As adobe has stopped all development on mobile flash chrome will probably never have flash support...and it will not work on gingerbread as it uses hardware acceleration....

which isnt necessarily a bad thing. as long as it isnt all a global conspiracy to push you towards apps that will then charge you to receive the same results you would have on flash.

When cm9 becomes stable everyone will use that rom and not this one, I'm not being disrespectful I appreciate you wanting to make a rom and help the community but I don't think the people will appreciate it. Everyone is focused on ics right now. As a post on the first page clearly states what I mean, ics wont be out for a while so hey...why not? Don't waste your time. But that's just my opinion.

Hey guys kssood is looking if there is interest for the rom. If you don't want it don't comment.
So kssood if it's not too much of a bother please make it, there are people here that are excited and would very much like a miui rom, doesen't matter if it's gb or ics.
MIUI V4 is never going to be stable enough to be run on our phone. We'd always have to overclock and it will still have graphical glitches. Would never use it as a daily ROM. I'm very much in, for the idea of MIUI Gingerbread. It might be perfect for the wildfire s, given its specs

Haha, it could be your and most of the people wish, but once camera get matured in ICS , there will be no need of GB as I think.
Because currently in GB there are a lot of issues, like app update, battery drain, not full theme support, but MIUIv4 doesn't have these kind of bugs. only camera is lacking.

I would appreciate that If anyone take initiative and build CM7.

There are a lot of small, under-the-hood changes, but by far the biggest is 'project butter' - the pursuit of buttery smoothness throughout the UI, that you mentioned. Even on the Nexus S it's very good, but it's close to perfection on the Galaxy Nexus.
Of course there's a new boot animation, live wallpapers etc., but the major change is the smoothness. In most other regards, it very closely mirrors ICS
