This is my best try at a solution for a My Library widget that will let you use items other than what's in your Google play, magazine and Google books.
I use comic cat , nook reader, and the built in music player.
Used desktop visualizerhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.bii.android.app.dskvzr&hl=en , built in screen capture, and photo editorhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/...vbS5pdWRlc2suYW5kcm9pZC5waG90by5lZGl0b3IiXQ.. to get this effect.
Still working on making the shortcuts open the exact book, comic, or song, instead of the last read or played. but its better than nothing I think.

I have a deactivated s2 that im looking to use as a media player. I was wondering if there is a rom out there (probably ported from a samsung galaxy player) that would just eliminate all of the "phone" stuff.

Nope, sorry. I am looking at a Galaxy Player ROM right now to see if I can port it, good idea.

Has anyone found a way to disable the Music app from starting when the phone connects to a car bluetooth radio?
I also wonder this. I am really getting annoyed by listening to the LG songs play.
My solution to this was to create a Tasker profile that kills music 4 seconds after Bluetooth connects.

I just froze the music app and widget and installed Rhapsody (it's free with t-mobile...)
You could do the same thing for whatever music service you use. Rhapsody auto-starts, but that's kind of what I wanted....
I only have Google Music enabled. I want to use it, but on my terms. Tasker has been the ultimate solution so far. I'm using it to do many other things.

Viper4Android Audio For Xperia
Listening to music of some kind has always been one of the most favorite pastimes of human race since the dawn of civilization. We have got an innate love of music even in this digital world. And when it comes to enjoying our favorite songs, our little all-in-one companion is always the first choice. Good audio quality is half the substance of multimedia experience on any mobile device. You cannot enjoy a good song unless your phone has a really nice audio engine that makes you groove with ecstasy. Unfortunately, very few Android devices are capable of giving the ultimate experience that touches the level of our satisfaction.
