searching for a swiss nandroid backup - HTC One X

Hello Guys,
i got a little problem since i lost my original nandroid backup from my original Swisscom 1.28 rom and as some people know there are only RUUs for 1.26 available for the vodafone ch-de rom.
Since i cannot install the original 1.26 Ruu because my last OTA update was the 1.28 (and we know we cannot downgrade our ROMs till we get s-off) i am sowhat jailed to custom ROMs know.
Since our Provider hast released the new OTA updates (1.29)and i have no chance to go back to original Swisscom ROM, i wanted to ask if any guys from switzerland can provide me nandroid backup of an original Swisscom RUU with the version 1.28 or higher.
i am willing to pay 10€ also for this backup as a little thanks. If u have some private SMS or whatever on this nandroid, then i can promise you that i will direktly do an factory reset and delete all ur data. Or maybe there is someone with a fresh nandroid backup that could help me out of my misere.
Thx in Advance

I'm not sure if it's possible, best to downgrade your custom rom to a lower base.
Then flash stock recovery, then relock bootloader before running an ruu.
But I am still unsure cause updated hboot would again be some hindrance.
All the best to findinf your solution. Cheers!

hey m8, this is sadly not possible because the firmware (like the hboot and the radio) would be still the same as the custom roms cant override them at all.
So i am stuck on custom roms and i would be so thankful to that person wo could help me out with a swiss nandroid backup

There's an one x tool for root to rom and vice versa although you might end up on a different stock.
Its worth a shot.
But I have to ask, why would want to revert to stock? Just asking.

To obtain the official ota updates and to update to the official 1.29 for example. All those custom roms are somewhat useless if its about updating firmware, drivers and radios foe example as the dont have permission to install those things at all. If u do ota u are sure about installing all those new teg ra drivers nd the like. Know what i mean thats why i want to go back to official rom and do all those new ota updates, after that i gonna go back to custom via nandroid and i am sure that i have all the newest drivers.

i would like tp push again as i am still looking for a nandroid backup

Hey guys, ill raise the reward to 30 swiss francs if anyone could provide me with a nandroid backup that matches my requirements from post one. I really need this guys..

Did you found a backup? Same problem here... :crying:

have you tried contacting your provider to see if they can provide the ruu? now they've released it ota surely they will have the ruu as well.

[Q] How to restore my 3 Rom?

Hi,
I have been trying out a couple of custom roms and want to revert back to my backed up 3 rom. Problem is it wont boot after restoring, I'm assuming this is because I overwrote the boot.img to use the custom roms, is there anywhere I can get the stock boot.img for 3 branded phone please?
You can get it from the RUU
Anyone know where I can download a 3 ruu?

i reverted back to my backup 3 rom that came with the phone. but the problem was i needed the right boot.img. since i was on 1.26 firmware i flashed the 1.26 boot.img which i got from here
so what i did i flashed the boot.img then restored my backup and it worked. or you can restore then if it gives you bootloops then just go back into bootloader, fastboot and then just flash the boot.img from that thread and that is it.
worked for me so try it out..make sure you are on fully charged though
Can any of you please upload a full backup so I can restore to stock??
Can I still do this even if I have the latest hboot after a 1.28 OTA?
You need the 1.28 RUU (which doesn't exist) or a nandroid backup from someone on 1.28 (which isn't advisable)
You may have to stick with custom for now

What could be the issues if I got a nandroid backup from someone on 1.28?
I'm assuming it could brick my device?

the best thing you could of done is make a backup of your own stock rom that came with the phone. that is what i did. i got my stock rom back up which is 3 branded and all i did was restored back and flashed the OTA update. when i restored it did not reboot. all it needed was the stock boot.img and stock recovery. and that was it it worked perfectly. so do not know what the RUU business and what it does but if you have a backup and flash the correct stock recovery and boot.img depending on what firmware your backup was you would be fine

I kicked myself when I done it as I jumped straight in completely forgot to backup my device first, which I always have in the past...frustrating!
Just want to get back to Three UK stock now, as sick of flashing every custom rom that is released lol
So as I have no backup and HTC/Three seem uninterested...I am screwed.

Three/HTC have not released the 1.28 RUU mate, so if I try and use all there is (1.26 RUU) it fails as my hboot is now a newer version after the 1.28 OTA from three.
And I have no nandroid backup.
Oops.

You need to wait for the 1.28 RUU mate.
Don't use a nandroid backup from someone else as all info from that nandroid backup will be for the owners device and not yours. So if you send it to HTC they'll see the serial numbers don't match up. Plus the nandroid will have personal data from the owner on most of the time.

Ah so it has as much detailed info as that, not just purely software. Thanks for the head sup mate. I will wait for the 1.28 RUU.
Do you know who is responsible for releasing them btw...network or HTC?

HTC releases them and it is up to the network to decide really when to release it due to the software i would presume that goes onto the branded handsets. which sucks really. just like say ICS when it came out. really it should of been a global release like ios for apple but due to OEM's like Samsung and htc we have to wait till they decide when to release it due to the customization they do to the updates..similar to the updates we should be getting but we have to wait for 3 to get their asses in check

It really does suck being at the mercy of networks for these updates.
As you say with iOS for example, there is one version from Apple - keeps it simple!

[Q] Installing RUU then restoring backup, pointless?

Hiya people!
Would it be pointless in installing the latest RUU, relocking and installning, then go back to unlocking the phone and restoring your latest nandroid backup that is based on a RUU earlier than the latest one?
I'm thinking that you're getting the new radio, hboot and such but lose the ROM specific updates, right?
Or, since our beloved developers are working so hard and pretty much all the time, should one just wait for the ROM you're using to get updated until you do install this specific RUU?
I hope that this made sense..

Need CWM Backup 2.17 3UK

Hi!
I'm in desperate need of a backup from the 2.17 update from 3. I started getting problems on my phone and firstly did go back to stock by using a RUU. The problem was still there afterwards anyways, so I decided to try with a custom ROM again. However, I forgot to do a backup of the stock 2.17. And the problem is, because of the new HBoot, I'm not able to use the 1.29 RUU I used before and there are currently no 2.17 RUU.
So now to the question, anybody have a backup from 2.17 that they can upload and send me the link?
Bump.
I would pm football (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=494185) and ask him if he can get the rom.

One X Brand Vodafone

Hi, someone would know tell me how to remove the brand(Vodafone) from my phone?
I have the software number 2.17.161.4. OS= 4.0.4
I want to install a ROM with Sense and JB 4 +.
Someone would know give me a help?
To debrand, all you have to do is unlock your bootloader (at htcdev.com), flash Clock Work Mod Touch Recovery, and then flash any custom ROM you like. There are plenty of them available in Android Development section of this Forum.
As far as JB installation, I'm afraid that - for the time being - you will have to wait that JB is pushed to European HOXs.

So, if you proceed with the removal of the brand, I will lose my warranty?
If so, how can I return it? Just install a ROM with the Vodafone brand?
Sorry for my bad English.
Debrand is not possible
To debrand your phone you need S-OFF, and that is not available for the HOX.
Because you have a branded phone, you cannot go to Jelly Bean Sense just yet, your CID does not match the one you need to install a JB Sense ROM.
You can unlock via HTCDev, flash a custom recovery and flash anything, where you don't need to flash a newer firmware (Hboot).
Edit: You probably cannot go back if there is no RUU available for your device and brand. You could try to make a nandroid backup after installing custom recovery, but I saw some people failing to restore the nandroid backup.

By debranding, I meant removing Voda's bloat and apps. I also guess that's what OP asked for. Of course he can't change his CID without S-OFF.
With the rest, I absolutely agree with you.
And, BTW, my HOX was also Voda branded (CID: VODAP102), but it runs a custom ROM for months already.

You lose the warranty by the fact that you unlock your bootloader, and you can't return it, unless HTC service center can't tell the difference between "LOCKED" and "RELOCKED" bootloader (which they often can't )
To return to your stock you could either do nandroid backup, as said, or find proper RUU and flash it.

[Q] Backup before Rooting

Hi
I have an unbranded (unlocked) HTC One X (Bought in UK). I recently received 4.1.1 update but I have decided that I want to root my phone. I have never rooted any phone before so I am pretty much new to the whole process.
I would really like to back up my phone as it is. I am not sure if it is possible to create a ROM of the current state of the phone and restore it if I want to. This is because my phone is still under warranty and if it goes faulty I would like to send it back to HTC in its original state.
I can backup my contacts, messages, apps etc. separately. It is the actual original HTC software I am more worried about.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Anyone please?
I have been browsing through the forum and I have seen few people ask very similar questions but no one seem to have figured it out yet. I have also seen many topics where people are struggling to recover back to stock ROM because they did not make any proper backups.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
So you need 3.14.401.27 RUU. You are on 2.17.401.x now?
Check htcruu.com, the UK ROM is widely available.

Thanks for the reply.
I have official HTC 3.14.401.27 installed on my phone right now. I have never rooted it or anything. That is why I am asking if there is a way for me to save that as a ROM or save that ruu before I root my phone.
Make sure you make a nandroid backup of your stock rom after unlocking bootloader and installing clockworkmod recovery, and keep that backup in a safe place.

Okay thanks. Any other way to make a copy of stock kernel and recovery too?
i believe there are links to stock kernels and stock recoveries. there's also a thread to go back from custom rom to stock rom if ever you change your mind

Yup I have been reading that.
But it says that:
These instructions require that you have one of the ICS hboot versions in order to work (1.12.0000 or lower). If you have one of the new JB hboots 1.28, 1.31 or 1.33 there is currently no way to return to stock until a JB ruu is released for your device.
After checking my phone, it seems like I have 1.33. It seems like there is no way for my phone to get back to stock at the minute. That is why I was asking if there is anything else I can do to make it possible before I actually root my phone.
