Hi everybody,
Good Morning. I Installed Tamil Unicode Font app on my rooted HTC wildfire S. That caused something wrong with the device. Now the phone shows the brand name with sound again and again (15-20 seconds Interval) when switched ON. The problem is I didn't have back up, since i rooted (@ htcdev.in) few days back only. I have installed CWM 5.0.2.6, Superuser, ROM tool box, busybox. Using Android 2.3.5, ROM ver is 2.13.720.1, HBOOT-1.08.0099.
What caused my device to boot again.?
CAN ANYONE HELP/SUGGEST METHODS OR LINKS ON HOW TO GET BACK MY DEVICE ...?
or
How to remove the FONT APP (that caused the to REBOOT) from the device...?

I don't think that one will work. You have to use one that has a higher number than yours. And don't forget to make a goldcard.

thanks. I tried running RUU from PC.
But couldn't get through. You can see in this attach file.
Thanks again.
My HTC Wildfire S has got stuck in boot-loops a few times, when a flash has gone wrong, for whatever reason. The only way I got mine back on track was to use Rezo's All-in-one tool to flash CWM Recovery, and go from there.
Link to Rezo's wonderful tool, which, by the way, is the only one that actually managed to root my Wildfire S in the first place... all the rest failed.

There is a file called runme.bat. Run it.
Menu after that is self-explanatory... you probably want option 10, "Install CWM Recovery". Do it, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let it do its thing, and then hey presto, you have ClockworkMod Recovery installed. Your phone should automatically boot into it, so make sure you have the ROM you want to flash ready in ZIP format on your MicroSD card. Use the Volume Up/Volume Down softkeys to navigate the menus... you need to select "Install a ZIP from SD-Card", and then select to browse the SD card to find the zip... you use the search softkey to select items, rather than the power button. Browse to the ROM ZIP, and select it, let it flash it to your phone, and you have your ROM.
I Got back my Device !!! Thanks to all...
OMG !!!
I Got Back my HTC WildFire S, after 8 days of hopeless and restless !!.
But I never lost the confidence and keep trying (on the right track).
The method which helped me to clear the problem is here :
[TUTORIAL][NOOBPROOF] Return to Stock Rom after flashing CustomRom
go to :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21891784&postcount=1
and followed the instruction simply.
and it worked !
Now my HTC Wildfire S is working perfectly.
(Damn i will never install that Font App again)
Anyway thanks to all who supported me......
Note : If anybody wants to know more step by step details, I can certainly help. (post it here)

Hi,
While searching for the latest desire radio, I found this RUU.
http :// hotfile.com/dl/79556297/13c71a1/ruu.bravo.froyo.htc.wwe.2.29.405.2.radio.32.49.00.32u.5.11.05.27.release.151783.signed.exe.html
I have no idea who uploaded it. I have not yet tested it. I searched forum for it but nothing came up. Is there anyone using it? Or, can any advanced member check the RUU if it is legit and inform us about the update?
I could not find any link from htc.com to verify file.
Thanks,
yasin
OOoo, interesting
Downloading now, will see what's going on - looks legit though. I've posted it in the Dev forum too for people to look at

Very adventurous of you! To bad about the sense thing : (
I did flash it using the PB99IMG.zip as opposed to HTC Sync and the like as it was quicker...might just go back to my HD ROM, though
What is the benefit of renaming rom.zip in RUU to PB99IMG.zip and updating via it?
Sorry, I am a newbie and I really don't know the difference with flashing with RUU and zip file.
It's more direct, you don't have to faff about with Windows saying it's disconnected, etc...
How do you cut out just the Rom ? I hate RUUs dam Linux sorry I hate Windows only got it on my note book for my unlocking box's

So, you've seen those new Sense 3.0 ROMs floating around, but haven't had an opportunity to try them yet? Well, I've developed a simplified method for getting you rolling with Virtuous Unity 1.31. Of course, after you have installed the DZ Hboot, you can install any Sense 3.0 ROM you wish, even though this guide is specifically for Unity.
This guide will show you how to install the DZ Hboot, and the Virtuous Unity ROM, with out using adb or a computer. The entire process is done on the phone.
First, let me thank the Virtuous dev team responsible for this gem of a ROM. Excellent work, and we tip our hats.
Now, this installation requires the following:
A rooted G2 with Clockwork Recovery 3.0.2.4.
Two MicroSD cards.
Optional: WiFi access, Tapatalk and Opera Mobile, installed internally. Opera makes downloading the required files much more reliable, and it can be easier using TT to browse this page.
The first thing you should do is stop by www.VirtuousRom.com, and check things out there. The Unity ROM and the OC frequency patch come from their website, and I firmly believe in giving credit where it is due.
Once you are ready to begin, download Unity 1.31 from this link, preferably via WiFi. This beast is about 400MBs, so be you may not want to deal with cellular speeds. You can also find this ROM on RomManager, if you prefer, under the Virtuous tab.
http://www.multiupload.com/TS4IAWJVMZ
Once that has finished, you should download the OC Frequency patch. You may not need it, but you definitely want to have it already downloaded if it is needed.
http://unity.flemmard.net/patches/virtuous_unity-ocfreq-patch.zip
You will also want to download a good radio to use, since the DZ Hboot will overwrite your current radio. This is the most current compatible radio:
http://www.mediafire.com/?r1tal256p11uzyz
Once you have finished downloading these files, use a file manager (ES File Manager or Astro, etc) to check the SDCard root (/sdcard/) to make sure there is no file named PC10IMG.zip located there. I'll explain why shortly. After you have confirmed this, shut off your phone, remove the battery, remove the SDCard, and insert the second card. Replace the battery, and reboot.
After the phone is running again, you need to download this file: http://db.tt/uCHeUDp If the link stops working, please PM me so I can upload the file to an alternative service, as this is from my personal Dropbox.
When the download finishes, use a file manager, and find /download/DZHboot_PC10IMG.zip. Copy/paste it to the root of your SDCard, and then rename it PC10IMG.zip.
A quick word about PC10IMG.zip: this file, when present on the root of your SDCard, will automatically be read by your bootloader. We want this to update your HBoot. However, the reason we DO NOT want a PC10IMG on the first card is because this file also prevents the bootloader from being able to enter recovery. This is why this method requires two cards. One to flash the HBoot, and one to enter recovery to flash a ROM. Once the HBoot flashes, it will wipe your phone, so you must have a ROM or backup to get it working again.
Reboot your phone into bootloader. If you have 3/4 way reboot, simply hold the power button while the phone is on, select reboot/restart, and select bootloader. If you do not have this feature, shut the phone off, then hold volume down+camera key, then press power. The bootloader will scan for updates, and will then prompt you if you wish to apply the update. Press volume up to accept this prompt. Do not turn the phone off or remove the battery while this process is engaged! When it is complete, you will be prompted to reboot the phone. Do so. You will notice that your phone is "stuck" at the white HTC bootsplash, even if you have flashed a different splash image. This is normal.
Remove the battery. Remove the SDCard, and insert the first card. Boot into the bootloader, and then volume-down to recovery, and press power. While the phone has technically been "wiped", there is the possibility of remaining bits of info in the memory, so it is good practice to perform a complete wipe. Scroll down to "mounts and storage", and select the following options: "format /cache, format /data, and format /system." DO NOT format /sdcard!!!
Now press the back key to return to the main screen, and select "install a .zip from SDCard". You can find Virtuous Unity in the /download folder if you downloaded from your web browser, or /clockworkmod/downloads/ if you used RomManager. Select the Unity zip file, and install it. Once this is done, press the back key to the main menu, select "reboot device".
Once the G2 has started up, you may experience lockups. This is a known bug with the G2 related to overclocking. If it happens, reboot into bootloader, enter the recovery, and flash /download/virtuous_unity-ocfreq-patch.zip. This should fix the problem!
Last step: open a file manager, and find the radio file you downloaded earlier. It should be in /download, and is a .zip named Vision Radio 12.56.60.25 26.10.04.03 PC10IMG.zip. Copy/Paste to the root of your SDCard (which we can do now that the phone is working again!) And then rename it PC10IMG.zip Reboot one last time into bootloader, and again press volume up to accept the update. When it is done, reboot the phone as prompted. Delete the PC10IMG.zip files from the root of each SDCard, and you are done! Enjoy!
Hope you find this helpful!
EDIT: Updated the DB link to the Hboot.

Perhaps it didn't download properly. Reboot and re download. Delete previous version and move new DZ hboot to the root (not in any folders) of your SD. Be sure you've named it PC10IMG.zip and not PC10IMG.zip.zip. The zip part is added automatically so you shouldn't need to enter it yourself. Then reboot into bootloader and try again.

Hmm... what about posting in the thread with the guide you're trying to follow? The user who wrote the it seems like he/she would be really helpful. Also, if you can get ADB installed, this is a super easy guide to use for the DZ Hboot:

But first and foremost I'd PM the user that wrote the guide you're trying to use... but that's just me. Good luck.

So your purpose is to obtain the DZ eng hboot without using a PC... meaning without ADB, right? Because there are other ways to do this... they require a PC, but if it's that important to you you should download the Android SDK.
There's a really clear/great guide here.
Maybe contact some of the Virtuous guys like cjward23... he's really knowledgable. I don't know why in the world the file isn't being recognized by your phone.
One strange thing I encountered... my phone wouldn't recognize the PC10IMG file unless I booted into bootloader from the phone off, using volume down + power button. This may have been a fluke, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Which is basically the same as mine only the hboot version is different,I am really not sure what the problem is,try one more time on the computer to download the PC10IMG.zip and send it across,I see from searching that there seems to be a few people having problems,do the MD5checksum as that makes sure the zip has not been corrupted and rules out a bad download.
Try from the official site or from my dropbox link.

Hi!
I had tried to root my Desire HD and somehow got it stuck on the splash screen the other day.
I've been searching for a long time but I couldn't find a zip file for a stock ROM for the WWE Desire HD. I did try the RUU's but they ended up with errors saying it's already updated.
I thought I found one and ended up flashing this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208507
which is actually the At&t ROM.
Would really help if someone could give me a link for the zip!
Have you looked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610483? Also, what are you trying to do, run a RUU or root your phone?

4pda.ru has detailed instruction. Truing to translate...:
1. Download the original firmware.
2. Run it.
3. Accept the "agreement"
4. Go to C :/ Users / YourComputerUsername / AppData / Local / Temp
5. In this folder, locate the file rom.zip. The file can not be directly in the root of the folder and subfolders.
6. Copy this file to wherever you want. Copy should be while installer running, or at the close installer the firmware file will be deleted.
7. Close the installer
8. Rom.zip file can be renamed to PD98IMG.zip to flash STOCK firmware without BB method radio. This could be useful if you have not installed HTC Sync, or there is a problem with the connection between your computer and phone.

Extract it from the RUU
1) Run RUU
2) If you're running windows 7, type %TEMP% on the windows explorer
3) Look for a very long name of a folder (Don't remember) and look for rom.zip
4) Open the archive using 7zip (Best one, other than that might have problems)
5) look for signed_boot.img
6) Extract it and flash it as usual
Hope it helps ^^
Thanks will try. Btw I'm on Windows 8

hi guys,
do I understand correctly; all I need is that tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706070
but still 2 questions:
1. how to tell once for all, do I have GSM or CDMA phone? That "sim card" part means, do I work (flash, root etc) with card still inside?
2. what about stock kernel? Do I still need to look for one, or everything is inside that ROM package?
Thanks in advance!
Nobody guys?

I'm searching in internet some solution but I don't found anything...
have someone an idea?
I've try to follow some tips that I've found in this forum, but whan I go to dir data/misc/wifi the folder is empty! So try to put in here the files I've found in my nexus 7 in the same folder...but nothing goes..
So what can i do??
MY DEVIDE IS:
HTC HTC Wildfire S A510e
Android: 2.3.5
HTC Sense: 2.1
Software: 2.26.401.3

Maybe can be important if I'll try to explain what I've done to flash my phone:
1) Download:
RUU;
SDK Android because I need the tool "fastboot"
3) Run RUU and take rom.zip from temp dir;
4) Exstrat the zip whare is the fastboot;
4) From my recovery I've wipe chace and system partition;
5) Reboot in fastboot mode the phone and plug it to usb;
6) From cmd type in: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ; and next fastboot flash system system.img
7) Put CWM in recovery: fastboot flash recovery clockworkrecovery.img
8) Reboot the phone and install HTC Sense...
That it!
Hi all!

Hi all...
I've try to put in stock ROM the app WiFi lib that is install in wild child ROM...but not work..
Maybe because I've take it from the system/app...
On you opinions, can it goes if I'll take the app with titanium backup?
Is there a way to put in system the app from recovery and not from link2sd?
Tnx

check permissions.you have to set permission to 644,then it ll work.
and i have similiar problem when i unrooted my phone with RUU.but that time i bricked my phone.
if you want stock rom, find file which can be flash by recovery because with fastboot, many times it bricked phones & yeah if you want flashable RUU of european version 2.3.5 i have that file.you can flash it via recovery like custom rom,but it isn't rooted.i removed root from it.

yeah sure.but keep in mind.this rom isn't rooted.i removed root permissions.but you can root it easily after installation via htcsupertool.
this is european RUU 2.3.5.
here is the link:
http://db.tt/wNiakL8g
and its flashable zip. so hassle free.
just put this file on sdcard.
go to recovery.
wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache (like you do when you install new rom)
and flash it.
then reboot.
good luck
