[PORT][CWM v5.0.2.6] Boostrapped Recovery for Charm and Flipside

Hey Guys,
The Admins decided to basically add the Charm forums into the Flipout forums, so far only the main forum heading has been changed, hopefully the admins will do the rest of the changes soon.
In the meanwhile, i thought it would be useful to post useful threads on the charm porting, basically since flipout and charm are the same phone with a different design, these should be applicable with respective changes to flipout also.

I totally reworked process for start clockwork recovery.
Now it started via hijacking mot_boot_mode.
More stable.
Not needed symlinks for mot_boot_mode.
Not needed shell-scripts for reboot into recovery (rr.sh).
Not needed terminal or adb shell acess.
APK available
How it works.
It hijacked mot_boot_mode executable if /data/.recovery_mode file exist
system at boot will start recovery from
/cdrom/recovery !!!

Hijacked executable will unpack recovery.zip via update-binary, restart root-hacked adbd.
Don't forget that will be /cdrom/cdrom_vfat.bin REMOVED
If you need it backup it by hands.
If you use my previous recovery you need
or manually remove all files (needed normal lvl of unix knowledge)
or reflash your phone via RsdLite or sbf_flash
known bug:
system can't remount from recovery menu.fixed

Finaly theres CM7 MB511 Ruth Flipout. That could be used by devs to Port it to other devices.

So I'm trying to install a safe kernel , but...

So, I have flashed CWM Recovery onto my Note 2. Rom Manager says both CWM and TWRP are installed. However, when I boot into recovery, I get the stock recovery. I've searched and searched and all I have found are people who aren't pushing the right buttons and others with junk answers that are no help at all, like instructions on how to flash the recovery.
I want to flash Persus Alpha i heard its a "safe" and great kernel.

download the zip from the official thread (ODIN FLASHABLE )
Put your note 2 in download mode ie... switch off the phone.. after than press vol down+ home button + power button... wait... a screen will appear with a yellow exclamation triangle symbol.. press vol up to continue... DOWNLOAD MODE is now ready... Use odin and in pda -> put the zip location... after that press start... make sure you connect the device to the pc after putting it into download mode...
You are up and running the perseus kernel enjoy...
For installing CWM just google and find the odin flashable zip.. do the above process.. you will see that recovery is flashed
any doubts ask.. happy flashing

I recommend not to use the rom manager on samsung devices... its risky...

what method I use for ROOT? and TWR?
I dont have Root ... I need only root or custom recovery as well
who send you my files, i dont have root ...

Unable to add new APN
Guys, I'm posting here because team coolpad officially failed to provide me the solution for my this problem. I'm not able to add new apn in coolui 8 from beginning. Snapshot is attached of error. I tried resetting phone, cleared catch, cleared catch partition from recovery, cleared data of different settings... But no success. This place I know is having greatest talent in the world. Kindly help me.

the best way to get marshmallow is without PC. install kingroot, root the phone in lollipop version, install custom recovery like TWRP or whichever you prefer - you can use flashify to do this job post which have the coolui8 file for marshmallow in SD card, use the flashify to install recovery first and then get into recovery and flash the coolui8 file....
Remember to take back up when you are in custom recovery mode....and it will take exactly 10 minutes from backup completion to installation...so be very very very patient....leave it and go for a tea break ....it will be ready.

Is my method wrong?and The phone will automatically restart to bootloader, and it will get stuck. I only have to press the volume down and power button to force a restart，Same for the first one

Have you tried also other two recovery? If yes it's my fault to build recovery. it's hard without have logs understand why. I'm beta tester of android 10 so I can't open bootloader. After this period I'll open and will work on sources. Thanks again for your time
