[JB] No Navigation Bar, Google Now Gesture, Circle Battery Mod - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

With the help of a lot of developers I've been able to make what I find the best setup. There is no visible navigation bar, there is a circle battery mod, and the swipe up gesture for Google Now works. (The navigation bar is 1dip, which is invisible, but allows a swipe up gesture for google now).
Credits go mainly to vicino (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=504865) for sending me an apktools compatible with JB, and a how-to, so make sure to give him thanks if you like it.
And he_stheone64 for the images for the circle battery
For google now just swipe up from the bottom to access it. (The regular nav bar doesn't work, only the google now feature). I recommend the use of LMT for this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
The zip attatched is to be flashed in CWM
(Note: this has only been tested on bigxie's, it should work on any running stock JB though, at least for the GSM versions)

So the navbar just works like normal?
E.g. Tap middle for home etc.

The nav bar doesn't work (I'm using LMT launcher), only the google now feature works.

Do know there is a bug which makes it invisible when the phone enters landscape mode (works perfectly fine other than being invisible though).
To fix it you can just go back into LMT and reset a pie menu option, though I actually like it being invisible oddly enough.

Could you tell me how you decompiled the framework and where to set the navbar dpi? I want to make a navbar mod for the VZW version

Messaged you.

Would it be possible to utilize the half-circle from the Google Now up-swipe to replace navbar? Like, add back, home, recents, etc to the circle, just like in LMT? Would be an even better solution than using LMT since it wasn't able to toggle the LMT pie from the bottom of the screen the last time I checked.

How could we used the HOME button feature?

Nexus 7???
What are the chances this can be done for the Nexus 7???? I checked out the rootzwiki forum on the no nav bar but it got my device caught in a bootloop. I know this is the Galaxy nexus just thought i would ask considering the mod is for JB.

This is excellent. I am using it with Button Saviour and it looks great.

Any chance of taking only the battery from your MOD and flash it without everything else?
yakju JB 4.1.1 Stock .odex (completely clean, didn't flash anything to it)

[Request][Mod] ICS onscreen navigation bar

Can someone try to enable ics onscreen buttons? Its a lot faster in task switching and can also reduce the wear and tear on the home button.
Thank you!
http://rohan999.wordpress.com/2012/03/31/how-to-enable-on-screen-ics-keys-on-any-ics-rom/
But it doesn't work on the stock roms. You need to be on a non themed rom...(cm9). the stock one is loaded with touchwiz so....>>i guess it won't work on it.
Yesterday i tried paranoidandroid, has an option enable them-disable them.btw i hate the on screen buttons, taking up so much space in my screen..

Thanks for the link. I did that before but it just won't boot pass the home screen on stock rom. I can already see the navigation bar with samsung's own customized icons but it just keeps rebooting something at the homescreen and won't go pass that unfortunately not sure what is holding it

u can actually change the height of the navigation bar. I normally set it to 24dpi so that it only takes out a space as small as the status bar and yet keeps the functionality of the status bar.

Main differences between Cm10 and Task and Ktoonsez

Hi all.
I am using Cm10 and have been for awhile but was wondering what the main differences are between CM and Task?
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks a lot

I find AOKP gives you more choices to customize your device.
Would you mind elaborating on that and giving me some examples
If not I totally understand.
Have a great evening

You have more options to mod the UI:
ROM Control- you can get nav bar like in nexus
change battery icon style, color
disable or custom boot animation
change toggle style and layout
add brightness bar to statusbar
enable face down audio mode when u put phone face down it would go to silent or vibrate
and more
lots of goodies that in cm10 you have to custom install
I find cm10 to be smoother than aokp

Interesting, seems like there are quite a few extras and worth the trial. The only think i see missing from CM10 is the additional 2 shortcuts from the lock screen (not a huge deal for me anyways)..
I'm curious though, how would one use ROM control with nav bar like in nexus (since S3 already has meny and back capacative)? Just wondering how it may be used..
Thanks again

Some people are used to the nav bar, maybe if they're coming from a Galaxy Nexus or something. I don't find it useful at all, because as you said, the S3 already has a menu, back, and home button. Also, you'll lose a bit of screen space by using them. Hope this helps!

Hide SoftKey permanently[How to]

Hide SoftKeys!!
Hi
I will tell you how hide your soft bar permanently
open your build prop and in the end paste that qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Reboot........
you are done!!!
why hide?? simple..... when you use lmt launcher the control appear over the softkeys and whit this modification the controls of lmt will appear in the bottom of your screen
if you wanna go back just delete the lines that you wrote in the build prop.....
the build prop is in system

Lame!
You are a newbie, aren't you?
Much better solution: Install one of the countless CM based ROMs, click "Expanded Desktop", then the navbar goes away.
Then install "GMD GestureControl". Much better than using this tedious pie navigation.
Maybe he likes cm10 over the other based ROMs off it. So no lame.
And anyway, expanded desktop takes away the notification area as well. One reason I still hate pie. I know I can gesture it up still, just so annoying.

And yes...... I use a ROM based in cm
I used the same method on stock to hide the navigation bar, but keep the status bar. This also in combination with lmt launcher. Works perfect indeed and entirely free of charge.
Now I'm on cyanogenmod 10.1 so expanded desktop is actually a better way to hide the navigation bar (in settings you can select to keep the status bar). I prefer lmt launcher over cyanogen's pie though.

Chech this app settings you will find lot of options to change color and icons. If you want to make it transparent when you choose color you will see a horizontal bar from which you have to drag the little handle towards blank area which makes your NAVIGATION BAR TRANSPARENT
I have the pro version and it's working fine with Lollipop, but it didn't have the lollipop icons, I've tried installing your modded lite version but it doesn't have the pro features. How did you manage that?
Edited png's inside apk file
Google or maybe it was Nvidia decided to exclude a nav bar for the Android TV console. Navigation is cumbersome at best with many different ways to navigate but none doing that well of a job since they decided that the launchers wouldnt support mouse clicks either. Where their heads are at when they release this stuff, I dont know but I found this and was hoping this would help, but it isnt working. Ill mention this in the forum over there too but if anyone is interested in getting it to work for TV, I can help with any info you might need from my rooted system.

Google pixel nav bar help

Has anyone been able to customise the nav bar without root on oxygen os? I would like it to look like the pixels. I've read some thing that's say it's name isn't navbar and therefore doesn't work. I've also read substratum is the only way. But some say that doesnt work.
Can someone clarify please.
I am root and still cant change nav bar icons ,substratum themes don't work .
yeah so want this to happen
tried all kinds of things but no help
Navbar Apps app does make it look like Google, but it doesn't work when full screen
I also hate the fact that OP placed the capaticive buttons so close to one another

Same, I want it like stock android or like the pixel. I don't want to move to a custom rom just for the navbar.
