Hey guys I got a EPIC 4g, and i got a few issues, I used CDMA WS to change the PPP/HDR id and pass. It wont let me change the HDR user/pass. So i was rooted the phone and retried it again. This time it worked, but only according to CDMA WS, because when i got into ##3282# Data Profile > Username it still has the sprint ID in there. Does anyone know how i can edit this?
I did try to edit it inside the phone, but it does not give me an option to commit the change.
thanks
and the reason i'm editing these items is because i am flashing this phone for cricket.
Please read the stickies, particularly the first one.
i did use the search function, i wasn't able to find anything about this.
I think he just meant because you posted this in the wrong forum.
o okay sorry, didn't realize it, i figured it would be in this forum because its not a general question, its a bit more techy with nv items and such. sorry
Use qpst to change service programming...

So many people spamming the dev section, so little time.

This entire forum is about technology, so it's all techy here (or at least it should be).

Moved to Q&A.
Now that this is in the right section... Try QPST. You could be able to change just about all of the basic CDMA parameters there, including the Sprint email address associated with it.
I'm trying to change the Verizon Wireless on the lockscreen to say something else. I'm pretty sure the xml file is the "htc_keyguard_screen_unlock_portrait" located in the res/layout folder of the HTClockscreen.apk. I see that the Verizon Wireless text is being called through an android id: @id/carrier. How can I change that to be something else? I tried changing it to an android text value, but it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running Nils Business Gingersense 3.

Anyone know any answers? Been look all day for this.
The MSL on one I have is set to all 0's. I need to change it to what Sprint wants it to be. Can this be achieved by using QSPT or do I need to take another route?
Its a similar chipset to an EVO. Can you edit the EVO's MSL in this fashion?

You can use QPST or even DFS to change the MSL.
I made a video here on this
It's really simple
flash the modem L710VPLG2
Flash an Lj7 rom I used the peoples rom GS3.0
open up your dialer and type ##diag#
check off cdma modem and click qualcomm usb settings then check off DM+MODEM+ADB
open up dfs click your comport and open up efs file explorer and type in your spc
when it reads click nvm/num
drag and drop item number 85 to your desktop open it and change it to all zeroes
insert it back in and reset phone
when phone comes back on follow same steps and drag and drop nv items 0 and 1943 to your desktop
open them up with a hex editor and change them to all zeroes and insert them back onto the phone

thanks for posting this but i think in (these directions) they are not in correct order.
01 flash LJ7 and use 16 digit samsung password "01F2030F5F678FF9" in DFS
or
02 flash LG2 modem/radio (from what i have read when using this radio no 16 digit password is needed)
03 (DFS is only needed to enter the 16 digit password) and then after you do that you EXIT DFS and open QPST and then EFS Explorer
DFS can set esn and meid without using qpst but for item 85 i think it has to be done with efs explorer
thanks for posting this info though (you were on right track)

I did it like you said. Ive been kicking myself for over a month trying to get this phones msl. I have already flashed 3 of them to straight talk and this one is giving me trouble. Look at this screen shot from adb and tell me what you think this smiley face means. Never seen anything like that. I have tried replacing that smiley face with every digit 0-9 and none of them work. anyways here is a pic

Download terminal emulator and run getprop without su. Just open dialer dial ##3282# select edit type 000000 let it fail then back out. Open terminal emulator and type: getprop ril.MSL and your MSL will pop up between the 2 command lines

Yes to both but it has to be a known good imei....... I think I don't know what would happen if you made up an imei but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work.
Hi, new to forum and Android and just upgraded from iphone 4 to my first Android phone and super excited! *80 plus views in the Note 5 help section but no replies so hope someone can please help me out here.
Walmart has these new on closeout now for 199. so knew it was time to upgrade.
Have unlocked phone through ATT online request and entered code but have still not set phone up yet and would greatly appreciate some guidance on what is the best way to get rid of the bloatware these come with?
Thanks much!

Go into settings -> apps -> open the carrier apps or any other app you wouldn't use and disable them one by one ... be careful not to disable system apps...
Hope this helps...
Get Package Disabler Pro for Samsung on the app store. You won't be able to disable a lot of the bloatware with only using the system settings.
The only issue is that using the default block list on the Package Disabler, Samsung Pay secure keypad won't work. Also make sure Samsung Push Service is not disabled or Samsung Backup won't work.
Thanks much!
