I did search but on my phone and well I found links to a lot of roms. I'm gonna have this phone activated on a new account at a sprint store and I wanna make sure they don't refuse service because of the flash counter
Thx

You would either need to use a usb jig to reset it.
http://www.amazon.com/Aftermarket-D...e=UTF8&qid=1341072676&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+jig
or if you are on an ICS rom you can also just use the triangle away app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDMsImV1LmNoYWluZmlyZS50cmlhbmdsZWF3YXkiXQ..
Then proceed to use sfhubs el29 oneclick to bring it back to gingerbread.
How would I use the USB jig
I checked the other method and it seems like it is highly dangerous so how would I use the jig

You literally just plug it into your micro usb port on your phone and then reset the phone after it goes into download mode by just holding power. I would just flash EL29 Oneclick with odin. I have a usb jig and use it time to time just to get rid of the yellow triangle and the flash count and just in case I ever need to use it in emergencies to get into download mode which has happened once or twice.
When you say reset what do you mean?
Is the process
turn phone off
Plugin jig
Turn on phone?

I had the same issue. 2 bucks well spent with triangle away. Download and install and in a couple of minutes the triangle is gone and counter is reset to 0.

Agree with Rick, I've used triangle away numerous times and though I now have a jig at home I keep triangle away on my sd card for anytime I'm away from home. Yes it gives a warning (that's the safe, responsible thing to do) but I think it's pretty darn safe.
I just made a jig. It was easy and worked flawlessly. Counter reset, no yellow triangle. The main thing, I think, is to make sure the kernel is compatible with the jig.
I would use USB jig.
I wear my yellow triangle as a badge of pride!!!!
Plus if I do ever need to take or send in my phone I just run Odin one- click El29 to restore and the triangle is gone.

How can it be any simpler? If your actually reading up on this you wouldnt ask these silly questions. Bottom line, get a JIG. Power off phone, plug it in, wait for the download mode screen to pop up, unplug JIG, hold power till the phone reboots. SERIOUSLY.... how else can we tell you???
All I wanted to know thx

All of a sudden, while at work I turn off my phone to charge and it reboots and goes straight to download mode?? I think I read somewhere inside another topic.. does that mean the original usb cord is going bad and turned into a jig or something..?? Thank you.

I think I have bricked my phone. Im pretty tech savvy I have had around 5 phones and have rooted all phones. I flashed a rom I had not seen before in rom manager. It is called minium 1.0.7. It flashed fine and I hit reboot and my phone did nothing. So I did a battery pull for about 3mins and put it back in and it wont boot at all. Is there anyway I can get it to come alive again. Thanks

Its pretty much not safe to flash stuff from rom manager anymore. Tons of stuff that isn't for our phone shows up in there now, huge problem. But more than likely you are bricked. Only hope you have is holding volume up+down at the same time, and plugging in the usb cord until the "warning" comes up. If that does not work, you have no hope. If download mode actually does come up, i will point you in the right direction to fixing your phone.

Try putting it in download mode by using an official LG usb cord and plugging it into a wall socket. I know the LG cords have the constant power wire switched so you might be able to do that. I have seen it done before.

Just got my replacement in and I have noticed it doesn't have a lockscreen. I have rebooted and and turned the screen on and off. The screen turns on and without having to go thru a lockscreen.
The other thing I noticed is if my hold down my power button my phone turns off. It doesn't prompt me to put it airplane mode or anything. It doesn't even ask me if I want to shut down it just does. Can't get a custom rom on thus fast enough.

I'm up to 5 now from flashing between ICS builds, mainly because I'm so used to CWM from my Evo.
Let's have a contest to see who has the highest, more than likely a dev.
I think most of us have the counter reset

Triangle Away=0

mine was up to 20 or so
21 right now
54

HAHA I have never had it go beyond 0. Likely a dev or someone careless.
Flashed most of the leaks and repacked kernels even rooted a couple leaks myself. Even some of those early kernels they warned us would trip the triangle.
Mine was up to 5 then I started using triangle away.
I was at 107 before ics came out and i got to use trios triangle away

Why don't you guys just buy the jig for like 5 bucks? Then you can get rid of the triangle and reset the counter in one shot. If you have a newer bootloader that doesn't take the jig, you can flash the old one that does.
My power button is so far gone that it doesn't work,at all.
How can I get into Odin mode so I can Odin back to stock if I have zero power button usability?
Any help appreciated.

About $10 on eBay
I had the same problem on mine. New switch fixed the issue. (Pretty damn tiny, but if you have a good soldering station and a steady hand, it's not TOO hard to replace)
Can we be able to do that or do I need to un root it?

Yep, only thing to check is your flash counter. Depending on how op rooted it could be tripped. Just boot into download mode and check it. If it's tripped use triangle away app.

But I think even if you didn't format or unroot, they well still send back to factory reset themselves and the T-Mobile reps in store aren't exactly tech savvy

They didn't even turn the screen on to check. Nor have I had T-Mobile give me any crap for it since. It's been 2 months so I think I'm clear lol
