LTE for AT&T users? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey, I'm looking at replacing my HTC Vivid (capable of 4G LTE) with a Galaxy Nexus.....however as AT&T's LTE network expands I'd like to be able to use it...
So, my question is this: Does the Galaxy Nexus from Google Play (AT&T version) have LTE capabilities?

Nope.

In short, no. But for future reference, if you need to know if a phone is compatible with AT&T LTE look to see if it is GSM with the 700MHz radio/band in the specifications. Verizon uses the 700MHz as well but they are CDMA phones so they should be easy to spot.

Galaxy Nexus lte network

I have wondered does galaxy nexus lte network work in European? Because European model doesn't have lte network and has only 16gb of memory so I was thinking that I would buy nexus from Verizon if that lte network would work in Finland. Could someone smart tell me if it is possible thanks

Won't work. The frequencies are all different.
And here in Finland 4g is already working but I don't know does nexus support only Verizon network that isn't in here

The LTE version is CDMA/LTE. European carriers are all GSM. And to my knowledge, there aren't any big LTE networks yet being rolled out there...
So no, it won't work at all. Even if you got ahold of an LTE SIM from a local LTE carrier it wouldn't work with the frequencies in the Verizon device.
Okey thanks.. I will buy European model then

Verizon LTE model is using band 13 700mhz radio and it'd factory locked to Verizon. You guys are using 800mhz/2600mhz as far as I know so it will most definitely not work.
Just go for the HSPA+ version.

No, you cannot use the LTE Nexus on AT&T.
Rabble rabble rabble.
Unless the att version has GSM and ATT LTE.
Verizon and AT&T don't have the same LTE network.
LTE Google Galaxy Nexus! - Stock
Asus Transformer - OC/UV
No it won't work. You're going to be using it on AT&T's HSPA+.

Its labeled wrong. It is a I9250. I9250 is the pentaband version (yakju, yakjuxw, etc)
mysid.... SCH-I515 is the code name for Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE.
HSPA+ on AT&T is considered "4G" on their network.

This is correct.
Just get the unlocked GSM version. It completely flies on AT&T's network.
You need the GSM version, not the LTE on AT&T.
On LTE phones, all voice calls are routed through 3G, which is CDMA, so there's your most obvious reason why the LTE GN won't work on AT&T.

No. Only edge network will work. 3g and 4g work on completely different spectrum and radio frequency

If that was true the galaxy note from att wouldn't get T-Mobile 4 g which it does when flashing a blaze 4g modem I also want to know if this will work on the att s3

Yes it does I have it working on my father in laws note

That may be true about the Note 2, but an ATT S3 does not have the T-Mobile 3/4G frequencies.

Yes this guys right. Take a look for yourself:
ATT Galaxy Note Specs
T-Mobile Galaxy S3 Specs
ATT Galaxy S3 Specs
Notice how the Note and the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 have that 1700 Mhz frequency? Thats what T-Mobile broadcasts their 3G/4G spectrum on. If the phone doesnt have those frequencies, then it wont work no matter what you do.

That's different. It is a whole different phone with a whole different SoC.
Let's not say things that we cannot prove.
Don't shoot this guy completely down. It will get T-Mobile 3g/4g as soon as T-Mobile refarms their network.

Yeah, because they live in one of the small parts of the US that uses the 1900mhz band for HSPA. It will not work everywhere else.

What about the other way? A T-Mo SGS3 on AT&T? What does that get you? I know NO LTE but what about HSPA+ ?

Yes, HSPA+ will be fine. But as you said, no LTE.

Is the international GS3/quad core compatible with T-Mobile?

I assume the quad core gs3 is GSM? Will it work with T-Mobile 4G HSPA+? My friend is on T-Mobile and is planning to get the gs3 off contact. He wanted me to find out if T-Mobile 4G will work with the quad core version or should he just buy the T-Mobile version instead.

It will work but you will be stuck on Edge.
I'd check what frequencies it has. I'm using a T-Mobile version on at&t and get 4g data. If the international version has T-Mobile's frequencies then it should work.

Are you getting 4g lte or hspa? I don't think t-mobile s3 can do lte

Would this work?
Tmobile uses Band (frequency): 850 MHz;900 MHz;1800 MHz;1900 MHz;UMTS: Band I (2100);UMTS: Band IV (AWS);UMTS: Band V (850)
Device Additional Information tab on that site says "Service 900, 1800, 1900, 850, 3g 2100"
But at the top of the page it says "Band:GSM 850/900/1800/1900"
T-Mobile UMTS/HSPA+ (3G/4G) mostly runs off 1700/2100 and the international model i9300 does not support the frequency we use. The quad band GSM/EDGE will work (and therefore voice/text and slow internets).
AT&T uses a more normal 850/1900 for everything but LTE, making them more "Normal" along with our Canadian neighbors.
T-Mobile is weird :-o.
If you've got access to any make of GSM based + unlocked iPhone, stick your T-Mobile SIM in it and see what speed you can get. An unlocked AT&T phone may work for testing also. We're supposed to be getting better coverage in this kinda frequency range for that but it will likely be a long time before we get sufficient coverage to enjoy a i9300.
Well put. It will be a long time before we see decent coverage for AT&T/UK phones.

Frequency Concern

Hi everyone,
I am planning to buy an international version of galaxy nexus (i don't know if there is another version or not) to use in America, probably Tmobile. I know that the galaxy nexus uses 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 MHz as its working frequency. Coincidentally, the 3G and 4G networks of Tmobile also operate on the same range (1700/2100). Does that mean I can use 3G or even 4G network on Tmobile? or I still have to buy a phone from tmobile in order to use the high speed network?
Anyone is using galaxy nexus on Tmobile now?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks everyone!

The GSM version does not have an LTE radio, so 4G isn't possible.
I use the GSM from the Google store on tmo. I am in the Philly area and I get HSPA+ or 4G if you go by tmo.

HSPA+ is what tmobile calls 4g. They don't use LTE. So, the Google/International version will get 4g from tmobile.

I see. Guess I'm on 4G as well then.
You will get full HSPA+ on any GSM network in the USA. Not LTE.
