I have serached and searched. was unable to find anything so im rly sorry if i dubble post.
But will clockworkmod from Rom manager V4.5.0.1 Work on xperia play R800I
and
If im trying to flash it trough Rom manager can it cause any harm if it is not working.
i would like to avoid to flash yet another rom with Fastboot yet again if i can use a more easy on the go alternative.

It would be awesome if it were that easy man, but unfortunately Flashtool is the best alternative unless your really patient
flashtool...... ?
I have a stock build on a rooted xperia play with unlocked bootloader ofc... im not too comfortable with the process of flashing new roms. i have no idear how to flash the kernal in ordre to flash cyanogenmod 7. any help doing so would be apriciated alot. thats why i asked if there where an alternative.
will something like Xcharger Reboot option be any helpfull ?
CyanogenMod 7.1 Official also includes CWM.
Installation guide:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Play:_Full_Update_Guide
I like the openness of cyanogen but i like having all my playstation stuff sooo.. would it be possible to flash cwm when doing the cyanogenmod flash and then use flashtool to install stock 2.3.3 so i can backup and choose whichever one i want in the future?
thanks alot just what ive been looking for. but i have a question
i installed another stock rom on the phone version 2.3.3
Basebandversion 7x30A-AAABQMAZM-1290_21-22
and Kernalsystem 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1
Will i have to install another kernal or can i just go haead and flash ?

For flashing CM you have to flash the CM kernel (boot.img) that comes in the zip package of CM , u hav to unzip the latest CM FXP package and flash boot.img through fastboot put the file boot.img in the same folder in your pc where fastboot is located and copy the CM Rom zip file on the root of your sdcard. Now connect ur phone in fastboot mode (turnoff & hold the search key while connecting to pc) check if ur phone is connected properly by entering the following command in command prompt
fastboot getvar version
if it return some value like 0.3 then ur connected correctly. Now for flashing the CM Kernel enter following command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If all is done correctly a message will appear in command prompt stating success. Now turn on the phone while the phone is booting up press the volume rocker repeatedly until the phone enters CWM recovery mode , now install the CM Rom from ur sdcard remember to perform a nandroid backup and wipe the data/cache before installing.

First restore ur phone to the official
firmware through nandroid restore (u had that backup right ?) then U have to use flashtool for flashing that official Rom, search for flashtool 2.9.1 beta (only this version is compatible with play not use version 3.0) u will find that in xda forums download the file and unpack on the desktop a folder flashtool will be created inside that folder look for subfolder named drivers there will be an executable file ggsetup.exe run that file to install the drivers necessary ,after that copy the firmware .ftf file in the subfolder named firmwares. Now switch off your phone but not connect to pc yet. Run flashtool.exe in that application you will find flash button click on it and then select the firmware u have downloaded to flash , now u will see several files such as adsp.sin etc show up on the right side of flashtool you have to select all those files by ctrl+a or click seperately to select all of them after you are done with it make sure you have clicked wipe data on the upper right side and then click flash now the flashtool screen will show this message - preparing files for flashing , now keep ur phone ready u have to connect ur phone only after a message showing a image of x10 popup because it has some timeout (keep the back button pressed when connecting to pc a green led should lit up on power on/off button that means u are connected in flash mode) now the flashtool should also show phone connected and it will start flashing firmware automatically. Once flashing is done turn on the phone go to settings and turn on usb debugging and unknown sources.
After that u have to repeat the process of flashing CM kernel and flashing CM through recovery described earlier.

Maybe you have old version of Flashtool?
i just downloaded the latest from the website :/
Hmm, what about Phone driver, Flashmode and Fastboot drivers? Did you install them on your computer?
ill double check

03/051/2012 19:51:45 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
i installed the drives :/
Try connecting it to another pc or another usb socket
And before all that... Restart ur pc
may work

Hmm, i had the same errors as you, but after i reinstalled Windows (they had some big problems ) everything is fine. (Dont do what i did heh) Try to restart Computer as drsanket_xperia_u said. Or unistall all drivers in device manager and install them again.
didnt work
If you connect your phone in flashmode to computer, does your computer see it?
yes it does its recognised the eroors come after i turn off the phone and hold down and power on thats when this comes:

hold down and power for a long time. if that doesnt work flash a new kernel with fastboot
i dont think there are any kernels available for locked bootlloaders so that may not be an option :/

Sorry didnt know it was a locked bootloader. If you can get into the os, flash cwm for locked bootloaders. Then you can flash the stock rooted version of the latest rom.
but you still have to flash the kernel and baseband through flash tool after so i will have the same problem

No the rooted version of the rom has kernel included. Flashtool can be an anus when it comes to drivers. Make sure you have checked the two bottom options in the driver install package, then reboot your computer. I just did a flashtool today and it went fine but sometimes it takes me a while to get it going. Make sure you have enough juice in your phone.
it says you need to flash kernel and baseband :/
Instructions:
* You need to have a previously rooted firmware with CWM installed. Good way to start is to have .45 firmware or .50 firmware and rooted.
* You need to have CWM installed
* Reboot to CWM and flash the zip file. (As always, make a backup and don't blame me if something goes wrong)
* After flashing is complete, power down the device and use flashtool to flash the latest Kernel and Baseband from .55 firmware (you can download the full firmware from below, but only flash Kernel and Baseband, otherwise you will loose root)
* Once completed, reboot and let the ROM settle down and there you go, you have the rooted latest firmware.
If you aren't getting CWM, follow this!
i want to delete the drivers and start again which exact drivers do i delete and which ones do i install?
????
Hi
So yesterday I was trying to install TWRP recovery in order to install Cyanogenmod 11 on Xperia S , I followed a tutorial on techglen, the problem is that now I only have the recovery on my phone , it boots instead of the system , the system files are still there but I can't boot on it , If i connect my phone to my computer I can't access the storage even if I mount it using TWRP
So i have some questions
Is my phone broken?
Instead of flashing a .elf file i flashed the .img instead , is that the source of the problem? ( i didn't do it on purpose , but i didn't pay attention :/ )
can i flash the boot.img of the old system to get it back on booting ?
If there's a way of pushing the CM11 into my phone and installing it would that fix my problem?
Can i use flash tool to flash my old system back ?
Hi,
do you have the zip file of your custom rom on internal stockage ?
(browse file with 'Install" on TWPR)
If yes, you just have to flash it with TWPR.
Here's what I did (will do a clean install and delete previous setting, contact, app data ...) :
- Download ROM + Gapps and copy to sdcard (internal stockage)
- Flash boot.img with FlashTool
- Reboot on recovery (TWPR)
- Factory Reset (Wipe --> "Switch to Factory Reset")
- Format System (Wipe --> Advanced Wipe --> Select System)
- Install New ROM (Install and choose Zip)
- Reboot on ROM to set basic settings
- Reboot on recovery to Flash Gapps
- Wipe Cache (Wipe --> Advanced Wipe --> Select Cache)
- Reboot on System
If you don't have zip file on internal stockage, you may go back first on Stock Rom with FlashTool.
Flash stock ftf(6.2.b.1.96), you can easily find it using search function.
Then you can do like I explained.

Well thanks a lot for your answer man !
when i put on flash mode and try to flash it with flashtool , the phone leaves flash mode after like 40 seconds
I tried installing the drivers ( from flashtool/drivers ) but it didn't change anything :/
Do not confused Fastboot and Flashmode.
Normaly you just have to :
(I guess your tft is already in "firmwares" folder of FlashTool)
- start FlashTool (with Administrator Rights on Windows)
- clic on "Flash device"
- select "Flashmode"
- select all file in "Content"
- clic on "Flash"
- your xperia s must be poweroff and unpluged
- Press the back button (still powered off)
- Then plug the USB cable
After that your phone boot in Flashmode and flashing start.
If they don't work, what is the error ?

Don't put your device on flashmode until flashtool tell you because flashtool takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds to finish extract ftf file

You can simply try pushing the CM11 zip to Your phone when You are in twrp and Your phone is detected on the PC. You won't be able to see it as mounted storage. You will see the device when You run:
Code:
adb devices
Then Use the command to push:
Code:
adb push path/to/rom /sdcard
And then flash the ROM.

Hi,
Good news if it works now.
So enjoy yourself with custom rom
Hi there,
using the flashtool I am able to flash new recoveries but not the complete roms because of a timing bug:
connecting the XM via cable / vol down the device is recognized as flash mode.
Exactly after one minute the flash mode is terminating by itself - and this is to short to flash a new rom (neither the preparation of the files has been finished).
=> anybody a solution for my issue?
=> has someone a dl link for the 4.3 stock rom (15.4.A.1.9-CE) as a zip? Zip files could be used, but no ftf flash files
If I wait for the connection of the XM until flashtool says "connect in flash mode" then an "ERROR flashing - aborted" occurs. Why?
The BL was unlocked directly before the error-flashing...
Thanks for your responses.
Error from wrong flashtool
My flashtool version was 0.9.19.8 and during the blu-process the level meter stucks.
With "new" (or old) version 09.18.1 - everything worked well.
I have some doubts about the using of flash tool.
1. Is it necessary to unlock the boatloader before flashing my phone?
2. Is it necessary to tick the usb debugging before using flash tool?
3. When i use flash tool, after some time it shows failed in my xperia m dual c2005. I am curious to know the reason behind it..
Any body please help me to clear my doubts....

Yes the bootloader obviously should be unlocked before you do the flashing stuff!Flashtool works for me and the state of usb debugging never affected its functionality ! Make sure you have all the drivers properly installed!

Dude one more simple doubt. Is it possible for you to tell me how to install the drivers in my win 7?
Now I am facing another problem. I just tried to restore my xperia m dual c2005. But it didn't go well. I saw my xperia waves got stucked. So i just removed my battery an replaced it. When I switched on my phone it only shows SONY logo. I tried to repair my software by using PCC and Xperia Companion. It shows error messages. Then i showed it to a mobile service agent in a local mobile shop. He told me that m dual c2005 model had a sony only memory. So they cannot do it because the memory can't be re-writeted in this model. Is that true? Or is there any other better option to resolve my phone's issue?
Please help me bro....:crying:

To Install the drivers
I think you might be able to solve this problem! The problem is with your partitions. So follow:
first of all install fastboot and adb drivers from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118
go to device manager and verify that and android device interface or something like that appears.
If it doesnt then s1 boot device will appear as unknown device , right click on that and update device driver and then select the option let me pick from drivers on my computer .
After that select android device then dont select anything , itll get autoselected and click next!
now your device should appear in device manager!
To restore the system completely
Install a recovery for the device by the following procedure :
first download twrp from https://twrp.me/devices/sonyxperiam.html, rename it to recovery.img
go to cmd with admin rights in the folder in which recovery is put
(flash the recovery in boot sector)
type :
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
now boot the phone up the recovery should automatically open up, it may get stuck for some time but only once it will so be patient,;
go to wipe, then advanced wipe! select every option and micro sd,internal storage and usb-otg are optional
then swipe to wipe , it will show that it failed but dont worry some partitions are of sort that they show error now after this the problem should be resolved , after this flash a rom of your choice or restore a dual stock firmware backup (note: you cannot restore backups which were made from cwm , for that flash philz or cwm recovery)
Please report and hit thanks if i helped you!

The country doesnt matter you may flash any country's generic rom, mine was indian but I flashed brazillian..
And about the flashtool I dont think emma is good , i prefer flashtool any version...if you find the latest not working then you may try the second latest but 99% it does work good..
Most important : You need to connect your device in fastboot before installing drivers and flash the boot partition by those command so go here on how to boot in fastboot mode http://www.theandroidsoul.com/boot-sony-xperia-m-fastboot-mode-51835/

It enables you to flash modes and other cool stuff! even if you dont wanna do that then dont touch it !flash a cyanogenmod recovery, which is quite basic and wont modify anything that may harm your phone...
All the best
What will be the difference between the firmwares C2005_15.5.A.1.5_CE.ftf and C2005_15.5.A.1.5_DE.rar?
Which will be the best for me to download?

(flash the recovery in boot sector)
type :
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
now boot the phone up the recovery should automatically open up, it may get stuck for some time but only once it will so be patient,;
go to wipe, then advanced wipe! select every option and micro sd,internal storage and usb-otg are optional
then swipe to wipe , it will show that it failed but dont worry some partitions are of sort that they show error now after this the problem should be resolved , after this flash a rom of your choice or restore a dual stock firmware backup (note: you cannot restore backups which were made from cwm , for that flash philz or cwm recovery)
Please report and hit thanks if i helped you!

I never faced that kind of a thing , make sure that you are flashing the right file!
You have unlocked your bootloader?
Again I say better flash a recovery then a backup ,its much easier.
