I own the VZW Galaxy Nexus , and I just unlocked the bootloader and now my phone will not boot-up. The device is stuck on the Google logo splash screen with the lock icon at the bottom of the screen signifying that the bootloader is unlocked. I used the program called Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.4 from Wugfresh to unlock my phone's bootloader, and now my phone is currently bricked. I can still go to the bootloader by holding down volume and power. Can someone help me restore my phone to a working state?
EDIT: Also I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to be posting this, I don't use this site often and the site would not let me post to Galaxy Nexus Android Development for some reason. I can still go to the bootloader by holding down volume and power.
the reason why ur stuck is because ur stock recovery might be blown up. try and flash stock recovery ....or cwm recovery...

You think I didn't try that already? And I don't know how to flash a stock recovery, help?
My phone also got stuck at the google screen when it tried to boot. Turned out it was a bad flash when I was trying to install jelly bean. I just went back in and flashed jelly bean again and everything was back to normal. I think you'll be just fine if you just flash a stock rom or whatever rom you want to run on. Look for one of the guides on how to return to stock and just skip the part about relocking your bootloader.

In the toolkit there is a "flash back to stock" option. Boot back into bootloader and use it.
Thank you very much wish to continue your work

I didn't mean to thank your post so you owe me one.
Why be an ass to someone who is trying to help you. A simple I tried that and it didn't work would be fine.
If we assumed everyone did what we would suggest then half of people's issues would probably not have gotten fixed.
Like I would assume you new how to flash stock recovery so I would not want to offend you buy telling you how.

Now to be nice because I know a non working phone sucks : )
Put your phone into the bootloader screen to use in the toolkit. To do this. remove battery, place back in....Then hold volume up and down at the same time and then power the device on while holding the buttons. You will then be in bootloader and the toolkit should recognize your device from there.
If it does, try the steps over again or if you can flash back to stock everything and start over. The tollkit give you the instructions where to get the files if you choose that option.

You gotta install adb driver for Nexus. For my computer, when I enabled usb debugging, it downloaded the driver for me (odd enough) but if your computer doesn't do that, you can Google around to get the exe file for you to install. Just make sure the Nexus has usb debugging on, or it doesn't let you install the driver (from my experience)

It doesn't matter what you're currently on. You will completely nuke your phone when you fastboot the images onto your device anyway.
ok my computer currently recognizes my phone now and i know how to re lock my bootloader what rom should i put it on so they dont know i was rooted before relocking the bootloader. I thought locking it would set it back to default but i was wrong i just had cm9 with a locked bootloader lol i think they would know from that but seriously. So you got everything stock except the ROM? So you got stock recovery and everything? If you do, first of all, download the stock rom from google site (there should be few versions, that, you gotta find it out) then you need to download clockwork mod recovery (assuming that you got fastboot and adb) now just boot into cwm on your phone and flash the stock rom. By doing this, you're not over writing the recovery but you can still use the cwm
Also you gotta unlock first lol

Can you boot into fastboot? (Hold the power button and both volume buttons). I would boot into fastboot and reflash the Stock images. Also want to specify which variant you have.. GSM or CDMA if CDMA, verizon or Sprint?
Factory reset from stock or a custom recovery will not wipe the system partition. If you formatted the system partition from a custom recovery you can boot back into the custom recovery and adb push a ROM to your sdcard
Install the drivers on the computer. Then put the phone in fastboot mode like uber mentioned. Then push the rom to the phone and flash it in recovery. If you didnt install a recovery either, youll need one of those too.
Yeah hard to tell by her post if her bootloader is unlocked or not. I didnt think it was possible to wipe system without unlocking the boot loader and flashing a new recovery. Which means she needs knowledge of fastboot to even set that up.
The more i read the OP the more it sounds like unless she bought a used rooted phone off ebay. This thing is stock and just needs to boot to stock recovery and perform a factory reset from there. And that her system is fine.
With then phone off, hold down both volume buttons. Then hold down the power button, once it boots , use the volume keys to cycle and the power button to select. Navigate to recovery and perform a factory reset.

Doesn't matter if its GSM or rooted. Fastboot is independent.

Plug in your phone via USB, in Fastboot mode.
Does it show in the device manager? It might not be called 'Galaxy Nexus', might be called something Fastboot related. It might be in the USB section.
XP:To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
7: Hit windows key, type in "Device Manager"
If there's a yellow triangle next to the device, the drivers on your PC may be not working correctly.
If it is working correctly, the easiest option is to load the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, and flash stock ROM.
You installed the drivers as mentioned I take it?

THIS. IS. NEXUS.
Ash just install the drivers for the galaxy nexus, download a rom like aokp (the "maguro" version is the gsm version. Dont flash "toro" versions those are for cdma ) and then push it to the sd card using fastboot. All those steps are listed in a lot of posts in great detail by the author mskip and are stickied in the dev section here. Just read his posts for questions or drivers . Its all pretty straight forward once you read the right posts. Id avoid using any toolkits though, its all fairly simple stuff. And dont worry about the geeks here being surprised about seeing females. Some of them have never left the basement before. ( no offence guys , i got no problem with the homosexuals )

why would you use odin? thats an awful hacker tool, leaked, no documentation, press one wrong button and your nexus is dead. google has made fastboot, use that to flash images. you find a tutorial in the galaxy nexus toolkit thread, you might aswell use that, though, it relies on fastboot and adb.
For people that came from samsung devices Odin is a very useful and the most comfortable tool. Fastboot is safer indeed but....sometimes u just don't want to write plenty commands in terminal when in Odin is just a one click.
gnextoolkit is one click aswell, its safe as milk, its clean, well documented and theres not much you can do wrong. dont harass poor nexus with odin. for all we know the guy could have just killed his phone, stuck at 12% doent sound so nice, hope it still came trhough.
Ok guys i repaired. From so diffcult way

Yeah sure, if Odin fails then it's the time to use different means. I only use Odin when I want to perform a clean flash with full wipe. Otherwise (most of the time) I use fastboot. Toolkit goes very seldom.
EDIT: Great!!! How did you fix it?

Boot.img have nothing to do with the padlock icon..
Padlock icon means unlocked bootloader.

i have rather an established toolkit running official google components in sequence than a hacked/leaked samsung app that is neither documented nor known as to what it does and how it does it (and it will run stuff in sequence though). i own the s2 and know their forums, it is overfull of odin broke this odin broke that, pressed a wrong button phone dead, try jig here send it in for repair there. gnextoolkit is a great tool and the guy has put so much effort in it to keep it up to date and documented. every single thing he does there is laid out in the tutorial, fastboot commands aswell. i would recommend that tool to new users in a heartbeat.
I wouldn't exaggerate though. I owned Galaxy R, then S2 for more than year totally. I've never had one single issue with Odin (and I am a flashoholic ). Yes there were some instances when people messed around using it in a mindless way (or simply had bad luck...or Kies turned out to be a villain...) but the majority used it regularly without bigger problems. I'm not trying to say that Odin is perfectly safe...no no but if you follow the guide, have all required drivers installed (and Kies turned off) I don't see the reason why I should discourage users from running it.

yeah, i perefer fastboot and gnex toolkit too but this time i hav to use odin.
use always odin and don't post if you will have problems.as molesarecoming sad you, fadtboot it's the way to go.odin works too,but fastboot is better, and don't say "fastboot has command to write,it's more difficult bla bla bla" all ****,there are not more than 5 commands to know for the major parts of operations.tools works withouyt commans, but i prefer manually because i know what i'm doing and i know if seomething goes wrong,at which type of command the phone was when occured the problem.
Today my Gnex randomly rebooted, then got stuck rebooting. it now starts gets all the way to the home screen then reboots, then the cycle starts over. I am rooted runny shiney rom. nothing new installed recently and as stated before the phone was running normal the rebooted out of the the blue.
I have cleared cache, davik and done factory wipe, all to no avail.
the text on bottom of my bootloader reads:
Product name-tuna
variant- toro 32gb
hw version-10
bootloader version primemd04
baseband version-i515.fk02 cdma-unknown
carrier info-none
i cant flash the factory image because the phone doesn't stay powered on long enough to stay connected to the computer. apparently when i re flashed and root i forgot to make a back up so i can not restore that way either.

Debugging mode is only important when you are trying to use adb while booted into Android. In the bootloader, debugging being on or off doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter in recovery either.
Something is wrong somewhere, drivers are usually the best place to start as it is probably the most common reason why the device doesn't communicate with fastboot. Other things to try are different USB cables and USB ports.

Have you tried connecting it into download mode, and then flash an odin image through odin? with that method you wont need to actually put the image onto the device but rather odin just copies it over for you while flashing the phone at the same time.

If OMAP flash can't get you back into something that works, then the title of this thread is probably correct.

damn thats unfortunate i guess its too ebay now to sell it for parts
Take your battery out. Then put it back in and hold volume up and down and power. That should put you into fastboot mode. I am not entirely convinced that your fastboot is completely fried. Its really hard to do on this phone. Especially during a ROM update.
Do you know how to do fastboot without the toolkit?
