[BOOTANIMATION] New Nexus 7 and Jelly Bean Boot Animations - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Full functioning Jelly Bean animation from Galaxy Nexus and the original animation that was on the Nexus 7 when it was given at IO, before the OTA a couple hours after.
The second is my personal favorite. You can grab these animations on my app called Aniboot. It has many other animations, and is very easy to use. Try it out and see what you think.
Here's the link to the app.

After you install a bootanimation use root explorer or root browser, go to system/media and set correct perms then reboot and 3njo1

Thanks for uploading the cool animations. I have a question, since I'm not very familiar with the Nexus 7. You mentioned that the first animation is from the Jelly Bean before OTA, then the second is from Jelly Bean after OTA. How exactly did Jelly Bean change [for the Nexus 7] after the OTA. I know that in the case of the Galaxy Nexus distributed at the Google IO, it started out with ICS, then OTA upgraded it to a delta version of JB. In the case of the Nexus 7, what did the OTA do (from what to what)? Sorry if this is off topic, but I'm just really curious.

I'm actually not to sure. I was sitting at the Q lounge with my tab and I saw the update. My friends and I were puzzled, but I was lucky I got it before I updated.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

So Nexus 7s were distributed too just like Galaxy Nexuses? That sounds really cool. I wish I could have gone to the event, but I'm not a developer so I don't know anything about it. I have a yakju Galaxy Nexus that I installed Jelly Bean on. I'm excited to see what changed roll out in mid-July when it officially comes out.

I tried the one from after the OTA on AOKP and it shows for a split second ans then goes black.

That's interesting. I haven't heard of this before for a gnex. I have a gnex as well and I don't have this problem.
What kernel are you running? My friend had a theory about the stock kernel rewriting that part of the system partition on boot.

love it

Happened with Lean and Franco. Every other boot animation has worked for me. This was the first boot animation I ever thought looked really cool, and of course it doesn't work for me. When I installed a JB that included that X boot animation it worked fine, but when I extracted it to use with AOKP it didn't work, so if figured this app would work. Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait for JB source and real ROMs are made.

Interesting. I'll send you a modified version of the animation when I get a chance. Then we can work on it. I currently do not own a ICS or froyo device anymore so ya...

Awesome. I've been thinking that the JB animations are slightly different so they won't work on ICS.

I have the same problem with my GNex , running stock rom & kernel IMM76I
Shows 2 or 3 seconds, and the screen goes black until the launcher starts.

If your on a stock ROM before jelly, it won't work. Its stated in the app description. Its cause the stock kernel does something weird to the system partition on boot. Sorry.

G-NEX coming soon!

I just order a new galaxy nexus from Verizon and should have it Wednesday. I have a Droid 3 right now and compared to the G-NEX, there is an over flow of roms, mods, kernels, tutorials and so on for the nexus.
What I am getting at is, where do you all believe I should begin, as far as roms and kernels?
Thanks for all the input.

Your experience with the Nexus will be amazing. BUT it'll be even better once you flash Android 4.1.1 jelly bean, that's a promise.
Yeah I had an alpha build of jelly bean on my Droid 3 but it wasn't that great(no data/voice, camera, etc.).

I say begin with a stock, rooted, and deodexed JB ROM to start. You know, to get the feel of JB.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1860817
Then once you're accustomed to it, I personally recommend BAMF Paradigm ( current version: 2.3.1)

First off, congratulations on buying the best looking smartphone still currently out there 2nd take your time exploring. stock jellybean is no slouch if you got a yakju Nexus and getting the 4.1.1 update OTA straight from Google. if you want/need more goodness I can suggest the vanilla rootbox ROMs.

You are a very wise man!
today I realized how easy nexus phones are with rooting, returning it to the factory state and that ****..
my friend his galaxy s2 was in a bootloop, couldnt access cwm, needed to flash the stock firmware via odin.. and how the fck did i needed to know which firmware to choose. so many regions and ****... so I flashed the stock rom, needed to root again, flash cwm again... just a clear headache.
if this situation happened on a gnex, i could have fixed it in 5 minutes instead of 5 hours.
man you will love how easy things are on a NEXUS. just awesome! :good:

Its an amazing phone. Recommended. It feels so good in your hand , the curve makes it a sexy phone. If coming from a phone with menu buttons you'll be HOW DO I USE THIS BABY!?. but you'll get used to it, in 1 day you'll be used to the Soft keys. Best part is ... CUSTOMIZABLE SOFT KEYS!!! WOOOOOO!!!
I recommend Team Bamf. Its stable and fast and nice. but if you are a person that doesn't care about bugs and just cares about the amount of features I recommend a Nightly. They aren't buggy but may have a few quirks here and there. Jellybro is the best CM10 rom out there in my opinion.
Don't be a dumbsh*t like me and hold the phone upside down the first time you get it.

If you're using Linux in terminal navigate to the directory and run md5sum [filename]. If you're using windows a good free gui tool is [http://www.winmd5.com/].
This checksum will allow users to reference their download to your original so they may check to make sure it downloaded properly.

Re: [ROM]MIUI.us for toro
OK so I found this over at miuiandroid its called a control panel. Kinda like miui toolbox but not as advance. Its able to center clock and remove carrier logo, change CPU settings and a few other little things. I will test for the rest of the night and if I have no issues I will post a link. This gets updated with weekly updates from them so hopefully it all goes good .

This is not a business for you brother. Take your time. Do it whenever you get time.. And don't forget to spare most of the leisure time with your family.

In one of the screenshots above, it says Android version 4.1.2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought v5 was Android 4.2.
